00:00Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're counting down our picks for the top 20 most fun and
00:14creatively designed killers to play as in Dead by Daylight.
00:25Number 20, Vecna aka The Lich.
00:40The big bad of Dungeons and Dragons comes with a weapon wheel loaded up with some handy
00:44spells that allow him to maintain control of a chase and even find survivors, well to
00:50some degree at least.
00:59The Dispelling Sphere will give an idea of where survivors are while temporarily neutralizing
01:04whatever magical items they may be wielding.
01:07Mage Hand is a great way to deny survivors of a pallet drop or even Vault 1 if you throw
01:12them off guard.
01:13Fly can also help Vecna maintain a decent control across large distances while potentially
01:19giving him some value in distance based perks like Make Your Choice.
01:23As for his fourth spell, Flight of the Damned, it's way too slow to start up and easy for
01:28survivors to dodge, which is what gets him slapped onto the bottom of this list.
01:40Number 19, The Oni.
01:50Kazan Yamaoka imposes an intimidating presence on those who haven't gone against him enough
01:55times.
01:56The thing about the Oni is that he greatly benefits from keeping survivors injured as
02:00they can drop blood orbs that can eventually activate his unique killer power, Yamaoka's
02:06Wrath.
02:07Once activated, the Oni can temporarily utilize two new abilities to quickly hunt and down
02:12survivors.
02:13Demon Dash will help him traverse long distances and possibly ambush unsuspecting survivors,
02:18while a Charged Demon Strike will down even healthy survivors in a single hit.
02:30Only problem is that both of the Oni's abilities can be a little tricky to utilize.
02:35How many times have we gotten stuck on a small rock or an awkwardly placed pile of
02:39garbage?
02:40Too many times to count, and it can quickly hinder any Oni player.
02:52Number 18, The Nurse.
03:00When trying to escape The Nurse, survivors may have an incredibly hard time avoiding
03:05her attacks.
03:06The Nurse can blink across short distances, making her movement seem unpredictable.
03:10Your only means of defense is to try and play mind games with her and make her blink in
03:15the wrong direction.
03:16Well, for a killer that sounds this oppressive, why is she only at number 18?
03:28Whereas PC players might get a grasp on The Nurse quickly, the same cannot be said for
03:33console players or those who prefer using a controller over mouse and keyboard.
03:37When used by that half of the player base, The Nurse can feel a tad awkward and clunky
03:42to control, and her slow movement speed does not help.
03:47Fun killer, but man, she requires a ton of patience to get a hang of.
03:55Number 17, Pyramid Head, aka The Executioner.
04:05We'll admit that at the time of this video, most of Pyramid Head's add-ons are pretty
04:09useless.
04:10Even so, his power gives him some level of control and surveillance of the map.
04:14Pyramid Head can leave behind trails that inflict torment on any survivors who carelessly
04:19pass through them unless they're crouch-walking.
04:26Should a survivor go down while inflicted with torment, Pyramid Head gets the opportunity
04:31to send them to the Cage of Atonement, which is basically an instant hook at the expense
04:36of not knowing where the survivor is imprisoned.
04:38Now, if said survivor is at death hook and is inflicted with torment, well, they could
04:44be subjected to a quick and unceremonious exit.
04:47Yeah, Pyramid Head does have the potential to end games fast, but that's if everyone
04:52is playing too recklessly and if the player is placing trails in good spots.
04:57Here's hoping those add-ons soon buff him just a tad more.
05:0916.
05:10Leatherface aka The Cannibal
05:24The second you see a Bubba in your game, you know this is going to go one of two ways.
05:29Either you're about to be in one of the longest chases you've ever been in, or you're
05:33about to have one of the shortest games you've ever played.
05:36Ol' Leatherface can use his trusty chainsaw to down survivors regardless of what health
05:41state they're in.
05:42This has led many Bubba players to come up with utterly oppressive builds, like Basement
05:46Bubba, that can potentially end games before half of the gens are finished.
05:53However, missing a chainsaw sweep could cost you time in a chase or straight up lose a
06:00survivor if you wind up in a tantrum, and trust us, that collision can be unforgiving
06:05sometimes.
06:1015.
06:14The Unknown
06:22The Unknown is a parasitic being that can leave behind husks and teleport to them to catch
06:27survivors off guard.
06:28The only way survivors are able to limit its mobility is by carefully approaching these
06:33husks and interacting with them.
06:35This can leave them vulnerable for quite some time while allowing the Unknown to land free
06:39hits.
06:40There is another attack the Unknown has access to, the UVX projectile.
06:49Though it can potentially damage survivors already inflicted by its weakness effect,
06:53landing these shots can be somewhat cumbersome as the projectile always bounces off the first
06:58surface it makes contact with.
06:59Yeah, you can make some incredible plays with it, but in some situations, its collision
07:04detection can make it a bit frustrating to use.
07:07Still, it does make the Unknown an extremely versatile killer.
07:1414.
07:17Albert Wesker aka The Mastermind
07:21It is important to note that Wesker is a killer with a bit of a learning curve.
07:32Though he can grab and either slam or toss survivors like mere toys, controlling his
07:37dash attack requires a mix of precision and unpredictability.
07:41Your victims will try to juke you into going a completely different path, which might be
07:45frustrating.
07:46However, Wesker comes with plenty of benefits in his toolkit.
07:56Of all the killers in the game, he moves the fastest and has a rather sizable terror radius,
08:02which can create plenty of opportunities for you to get the jump on survivors.
08:06Once you start landing those dash attacks, you can become a truly oppressive force.
08:10It also helps when you tack on perks that further increase Wesker's terror radius
08:15and affect skill checks, all of which will keep your opponents guessing where you might
08:20be on the map.
08:2413.
08:26The Pig
08:35Poor Amanda can be an easy killer to bully when Swift's usurped builds, but in a normal
08:39game she can be just as dirty.
08:42The Pig can crouch and become undetectable on the fly, which can make her tough to spot
08:47in grassy or plant-filled realms like Backwater Swamp or Grave of Glenvale, but what really
08:52can hamper survivors from finishing gens and possibly escaping are the reverse bear traps.
09:03The Pig can place these on the heads of downed survivors, and when a gen is completed, the
09:08trap's timer activates.
09:10Should a survivor fail to find the right key in one of the jigsaw boxes spawned around
09:14the map, well, suddenly it's not so fun wearing a hat the whole game now, is it?
09:2212.
09:24The Hillbilly
09:33Since we did our original list way back in 2021, the Hillbilly has seen a pretty substantial
09:38change in how he plays.
09:40While he still has access to his chainsaw sprint to rush towards unsuspecting survivors,
09:44his reworked overdrive mechanic now gives him some benefits to overusing the chainsaw.
09:56At the expense of a slight increase to charging up for a sprint, the Hillbilly gets a reduced
10:01cooldown on sprints and an increase in movement speed during a sprint.
10:05Basically, you'll find some ways to down a survivor from halfway across the map.
10:10Just keep in mind any potential small tiles getting in your way, because the gods of collision
10:15can be ruthless.
10:2111.
10:26Dracula aka The Dark Lord
10:34Arena has finally made its way into Dead by Daylight, and Dracula has quickly cemented
10:39himself as one of the most fun killers to play in the game.
10:42With his Pillars of Hellfire, he can injure or down survivors from across small tiles
10:46or even cause pillars to spawn around him or the exit gate, depending on what addons
10:51are being used of course.
10:57But his most important powers are his shapeshifting abilities.
11:01As a swarm of bats, Dracula can teleport to various windows and dropped pallets to
11:05possibly flank survivors.
11:07As for his wolf form, he can find survivors more easily as scratch marks form closer together
11:12and in a more linear fashion.
11:14Honestly, you'll feel just as unstoppable as he was back in the NES days.
11:2410.
11:27The Nemesis Although Wesker's dash attacks can be tough
11:36but satisfying to land, Nemesis brings a whole other sinister game to Dead by Daylight.
11:42Nemi can power up his tentacle strikes by hitting survivors with them, eventually letting
11:46him break pallets and extend his reach.
11:49However, the most satisfying aspect of his kit are the zombies.
12:01Shortly after the match begins, two zombies will spawn in and begin wandering around looking
12:05for survivors.
12:06In some circumstances, this can potentially let you force players between a rock and a
12:11hard place, making them choose between taking a hit from you, the zombie, or risking a hit
12:15from both of you simultaneously and getting downed instantly.
12:19The zombies can lead to some hilarious moments in chases, and it's why Nemesis is our preferred
12:24killer between the two Resident Evil reps.
12:299.
12:31The Dredge Lockers were once an almost guaranteed safe
12:39haven to keep killers from finding you.
12:41But if you notice lockers having locks on them, congratulations!
12:45You have found yourself in a game with The Dredge.
12:48This blob of flesh in darkness uses lockers to teleport to various areas of the map, and
12:52if he teleports to a locker you're hiding in, you'll be instantly grabbed and ready
12:56to be hooked.
12:57What makes him more troublesome is the Nightfall mechanic.
13:00Every time The Dredge teleports or injures or hooks survivors, Nightfall gets closer
13:05to activation.
13:06Once it reaches full charge, survivors are suddenly shrouded in almost complete darkness
13:11while being much more visually prominent in The Dredge's vision.
13:15Mobility and temporary periods of explicit info are what make The Dredge a real monster
13:20in this game.
13:258.
13:31The Plague Leaning a bit more towards body horror in this
13:39corner of DbD, The Plague is one of the most difficult killers to go up against.
13:44The big reason for this is her unique power, Vile Purge.
13:48By vomiting onto survivors, and doing so extensively and excessively, The Plague can force players
13:54into an injured state while inflicting Broken, preventing them from healing and forcing them
13:59to seek out one of her Pools of Devotion.
14:02Should a survivor ignore infection and proceed to interact with gens, pallets, and teammates,
14:06the infection can wind up infecting fellow survivors.
14:18This is where survivors must choose between staying infected and injured for a majority
14:22of the game or curing themselves.
14:24If a survivor cures themselves at a Pool of Devotion, The Plague can go to the Pool, ingest
14:29the corruption, and turn her Vile Purge into a projectile that directly injures players
14:34just as a regular hit would.
14:36The second you hear those mystical chants, run.
14:57Sometimes, you may stumble upon a ghost face that just wants to be goofy and have fun with
15:02survivors.
15:03Unlike various ghost face players, they're a different beast altogether.
15:07Ghost face is all about hiding from survivors and stalking them until they are fully marked.
15:12Upon fully marking a survivor, that player is oblivious to ghost face's whereabouts
15:16and is able to be downed in a single strike.
15:25In some instances, expert ghost face players can mark survivors while chasing them, but
15:30that requires some finesse in looping around a strong tile, all while hoping another survivor
15:35doesn't out you.
15:37Overall, ghost face is one of those killers you can get a grasp on quickly, but will demand
15:41some time to truly master and get the jump on survivors.
15:456.
15:50The Huntress
15:56If you watch any DVD streamers or YouTubers, you may have come across the occasional Huntress
16:01compilation where players are nailing hatchet throws from ridiculously long distances.
16:07That's pretty much why we regard the Huntress so highly when looking at the most fun killers.
16:12Getting hits with a hatchet lob can be satisfying in short distance chases, even when the chase
16:17boils down to playing mind games around a tile.
16:20But on the off chance that you try to lob a hatchet from halfway across the map and
16:24suddenly hear it hit, holy crap, you will wind up laughing your way to the gen. and
16:30the hook.
16:31Fun for you, not so much for the survivors.
16:33Not with that wonky collision detection, of course.
16:395.
16:40The Doctor
16:47Are you hearing blomps, zaps, a whole lot of screaming?
16:51Yep, you're trapped in a game with The Doctor.
16:54Thanks to the powers of his overcooked mind, The Doctor is capable of harnessing concentrated
16:59electricity in a small area in front of him.
17:02Briefly frying survivors will cause them to scream and temporarily prevent them from vaulting
17:07windows and dropping pallets.
17:14Add-ons can make his zaps even more distressing, as they may cause survivors to start hearing
17:19the Doc's terror radius music, see visions of him, or even be cast in the light of his
17:24red stain.
17:25Depending on their madness level, players may even see bizarre skill checks that can
17:29further hinder their progress in healing or repairing gens.
17:32And hey, slap a bunch of perks on Doctor that cause survivors to scream even more, and you'll
17:37have a real party happening.
17:434.
17:47Michael Myers aka The Shape
17:56In all honesty, Michael Myers can be one of the hardest killers to play as.
18:01This is because his power, Evil Within, requires you to stalk survivors in order to efficiently
18:06down and sacrifice them.
18:08This means you may lose out on two or three gens before you can make it to maximum Evil
18:13Within.
18:14Achieve this, and Michael can down survivors instantly for a certain period of time.
18:19Certain add-ons can even let him grab a survivor while their back is turned towards him and
18:23kill them instantly.
18:29But that alone is what makes Michael fun to play with.
18:32It's Halloween all over again, and this time, we get to become pure evil.
18:423.
18:48The Xenomorph
18:56If you want to play a killer that is truly devious, then The Xenomorph is one of the
19:00best to play as.
19:02Through the use of crawl spaces and a tunnel system, The Xenomorph can cover a lot of ground
19:07and even detect survivors' footsteps when they're running on the surface.
19:17Not only that, but you'll also be notified of a survivor's presence if they're close
19:21enough to the tunnel you're exiting from.
19:23But what truly makes The Xenomorph one of DbD's most satisfying killers to play with
19:27is its long-ranged tail attack.
19:30With its tail, The Xenomorph can injure survivors from the other side of some tiles or objects
19:35and even pallets.
19:37So long as you watch out for the flamethrower turrets that can hinder your speed, no survivor
19:42will ever escape your fury.
19:472.
19:51Chucky aka The Good Guy
20:01Chucky used to be one of DbD's most oppressive killers until behavior nerfed him and reworked
20:07his power a bit.
20:08While in Hidey-Ho mode, Chucky becomes undetectable as survivors hear footsteps from various directions.
20:14Hidey-Ho mode also grants you access to a dash attack that can be tough to land, but
20:18nail the hit and you may gain the upper hand in the chase early on.
20:22Of course, the best part of Chucky isn't the sneaky sucker stabs or the general creative
20:27approach and how behavior managed to make him playable in the first place.
20:30No, it's the simple fact that Chucky will verbally assault survivors relentlessly.
20:45Prepare to chase, land a hit, down a survivor, hook them, off them, Chucky has an insult
20:50for everything and it makes every game hilarious.
21:161.
21:18The Spirit
21:25In our original list of the best killers to play as, we put The Spirit at number one.
21:30Unsurprisingly, Rin Yamaoka still sits at our top spot and it's for the very same
21:34reasons we stated in that list.
21:36The Spirit leans heavily into DbD's horror side in terms of gameplay thanks to her unique
21:41power.
21:42Using Yamaoka's haunting lets her turn invisible and jump scare unsuspecting survivors.
21:47On top of that, she moves at such a quick speed that by the time you hear her sounds,
21:52she's already behind you.
21:58The Spirit is by far the scariest and toughest killer to go against and it is what makes
22:03her the most fun to go against and play as.
22:07Very rarely do killers integrate an element of true horror into their mechanics and Spirit
22:11shows that approach and creativity beautifully.
22:18Which killer do you like to play the most?
22:20Survivors, who would you say is the killer you struggle with the most?
22:24For me, I like to play as Nemesis a lot and the killer I struggle against most of the
22:29time is Wraith.
22:30I can't stand Wraith.
