John Amos, who was best known for his roles Good Times, The Roots, and Coming to America, has died. He was 84. The Emmy nominated actor's son Kelly Christopher "K.C." Amos confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE that he died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Aug. 21.
