00:00Batanes and Ilocos Norte are now in a state of calamity

00:04due to the wide spread of typhoon Julián.

00:07Joseph Morong has a report.

00:12The super typhoon Julián hit Basco, Batanes y Ilocos y Ilocos yesterday.

00:19There was almost zero visibility.

00:22The houses that were hit by the typhoon were saved

00:26but not the modern houses made of wood.

00:28Some of them were damaged,

00:30some animals were injured,

00:32and some old trees were also banned.

00:34At the initial date,

00:36more than 2,000 houses were damaged.

00:38The supply of electricity,

00:40water, and lines of communication is also limited.

00:42It is feared that there will be a diarrhea outbreak

00:44due to the problem of drinking water.

00:46According to the DSWD,

00:48in times of good weather,

00:51they will be able to deliver prepositioned food packs

00:53to Ibana, Uyugan, Itbayat, and Sabdang.

00:57The GMA Kapuso Foundation will also be there

00:59to provide additional assistance to Batanes

01:01which is now in a state of calamity.

01:05The state of calamity in Ilocos Norte has also declared.

01:09According to the CDRRMO,

01:11more than 600 families were evacuated to Lawag City,

01:13including several barangays in Gabonorte

01:15where there were landslides.

01:17The largest population

01:19is mostly barangay 1

01:21and the infrastructure

01:23is the worst

01:25here in Gabon.

01:29We heard that

01:31there are casualties

01:33but there is no official report.

01:35It's one in Batac,

01:37one in Pauay,

01:39it's missing,

01:41and one here in Lawag City.

01:43In several towns in Ilocos Sur,

01:46there was heavy rain.

01:48Some houses were flooded

01:50in Candon City,

01:52while in some places,

01:54the water was up to Bewang Pa.

01:56There were landslides in Santa City.

01:58In Kalasyao, Pangasinan,

02:00there were 250 houses

02:02that were submerged in three layers

02:04of deep water.

02:06In Lagayan Abra,

02:08seven individuals were injured

02:10after being trapped

02:12in Umapao, Tinig River.

02:15In Bolinei Abra,

02:17there were landslides

02:19and landslides in Baguio Bontoc Road

02:21and Alab section

02:23in Mountain Province.

02:25Two houses were damaged

02:27in the landslide,

02:29except for the cars.
