Author Richard Armitage in Edinburgh to discuss The Cut

00:00The Cut is an audible original and it's a story about a group of teenagers in 1993 at their

00:11graduation. One of them is killed and one of them goes to prison and then in the present day a film

00:18crew arrives in the village where the murder happened to make a found footage horror film

00:25but that horror film is not quite what it seems. And being an author is a whole new career for you

00:31why did you start doing this? I was asked by my very good friends at Audible under the guidance

00:40of Robin Morgan Bentley if I would be interested in writing something. I think I'd read a sort of

00:46wide range of different authors and they realised that I had an audience. I immediately said yeah

00:53I'd love to write something. We staggered the process so I came up with a story idea for them

00:59then we put together a story structure and then slowly built the story from there and

01:04the second time around it was a little bit quicker.
