00:00Made away when told, both of you watch it, heads in close, good luck to you both, touch gloves, good luck to you both.
00:08So will the improvements made by Rihanna Dixon prove sufficient here tonight in her first defence of the WBO title?
00:16Or will Terri Harper prove to be too seasoned with all that world title experience behind her?
00:23And away then, ten two minute rounds, the WBO lightweight title at stake in this division.
00:29Illuminated for so long by Katie Taylor, and so many of these women now building on the platform created by the legendary Irish woman.
00:44It's going to be difficult, obviously, at the Southpaw, fighting at all four doors, but I'm interested to see who can try and get in a rhythm and fight in the distance with that lead hand first.
00:53I think it's very important as well, because Harper got stopped in the manner that she did in her last fight, for Dixon to put something on her very early.
01:01So if she panics under the pressure, and also if you don't have the ability to move the box, she's very, very hard to beat.
01:13Harper, world champion, first time around in the division beneath this at super featherweight, and then went all the way up,
01:2024 pounds, two super welterweight among the top of the line, but was beaten, and heavily beaten last time out by Sandy Ryan.
01:28Has that left a mental scar?
01:33Both of them just falling short, but both had an attempt to find their rear hand.
01:38You just see again, Terri Harper, I think, the jab and the straight rear hand to the body, probably best off just to get that distance, that timing.
01:46Good right hand though over the top from Harper.
01:51They're just looking stationary there, Rihanna Dixon, and Harper just felt the timing of that right hand,
01:57moving to the right there away from that lead there of Dixon.
02:02Yeah, but she's walking onto that left hand, that's better, got buried that up, that movement.
02:07Eight, eight and two.
02:15Two good right hands landing by Terri Harper in the opening round.
02:21One, two, three.
02:36Best time buying crypto?
02:38It's like your first visit to a taco truck.
02:41You're thinking, are these guys legit?
02:44What's in that? Do I even like tacos?
02:48So you start with un poquito, a taster.
02:53If you like this, we can mix things up.
02:56Go off menu, spicy as you like.
03:04As Dom said there, that rolling ball might be there, yeah, but you've got to get your feet there, yeah?
03:09Oh yeah, OK.
03:11So now they say you've done a good job of stalking her, make her, yeah, just get a little bit closer now.
03:18Step it up.
03:20One, two.
03:24Listening into the corners, it seems as if the pattern is set there that Harper will be on the back foot,
03:31with Dixon attempting to close the gap.
03:36Couple of right hands landing from Harper in that opening round,
03:39a low scoring round and those eye catching shots might be absolutely crucial,
03:44if that's what we're going to see throughout the contest here.
03:47And there's two things with Dixon to be aware of, not taking punches when she's coming in,
03:51so she's got to be aware of that, moving her head constantly,
03:53and also not getting too close as she's in the corner there, let alone Harper to hold her.
03:58Yeah, and on the flip side, this is exactly what Harper's got to do,
04:01try and make Dixon fall short of the shots and fire back with that quick right hand of hers.
04:08She can't miss it with the right hand at the minute.
04:14I think she needs a target, I said it in the opening round,
04:16Rhiannon Dixon target the body with the straight shots.
04:24The elbows are wired of Harper.
04:28But also, you know what Harper's going to do,
04:31when you come forward she's going to pop you with that right hand,
04:33so feet, feet, feet, feet and then go.
04:40Yeah, the feet of Harper, they're good.
04:42She's just taking a couple of steps out of range,
04:45when Rhiannon looks to make an attack.
04:50Big draw there from Harper again.
04:58Harper being two times world champion, finding a home for that right hand.
05:04Drawing loud cheers from her corner, Steffi Borden,
05:08her old amateur trainer, back on board, Paul Giraud.
05:11She says, Harper, that she begged him to come out of retirement
05:14to try and get the old fires burning.
05:38The future's old school website.
05:41Relax, web upgrades, I own them.
05:43Better design, e-commerce and smart AI.
05:46Now you're fit for the future. I scoot off now.

06:24World title action here.
06:26The women's WBO lightweight title at stake as we move into the third round.
06:31Scheduled for ten.
06:32Terry Harper has made a good start over the course of the first couple of rounds
06:37and they're more than happy in her corner with how it's going so far.
06:40They are convinced that Dixon is weak on the front foot.
06:45Well, I think they sort of got a point, because all she had to do so far
06:48is just wait for Dixon to come forward
06:50and then counter with the right hand.
06:52She's there, she's coming up the square foot.
06:54As you can see there, the head's not moving.
06:56So sometimes they're over-eager to get to the tiger, which you have to,
06:59for all these mistakes.
07:01Yeah, just smothering her own work there, Dixon,
07:03as she gets close, which she has to do.
07:06Harper's just doing the right thing, just grabbing hold,
07:08tying up and stopping the work of Dixon.
07:16She's just waiting, Harper, doing the right thing.
07:21That was an opportunity for Dixon there to fire back with her own counter.
07:25She made Harper miss.
07:27Didn't let the shots go, Barry.
07:29I would say the other option is, because Harper's hitting with her right hand,
07:32there's not loads of weight behind it.
07:34You take it on the gloves, you also meet it halfway,
07:36stunt it, and then fire off that.
07:40We've been seeing on our build-up features tonight
07:43the left hand of Dixon that floored Karen Carabajal
07:46in her world title win night earlier in the year.
07:49And maybe she needs a success of that order
07:52to build her confidence here.
07:55She landed there with a chance to take a jab off Harper as well.
07:57Yeah, probably the sniffer out of the two shots as well,
07:59the jab, she walked straight onto the shot.
08:11She's got to step in with a double jab.
08:13And then the left hand, Dixon,
08:15just waiting a little bit too long here.
08:19Don't move!
08:20Just let it come to you.
08:22Let it come to you.
08:23BELL RINGS
08:29Last minute water.
08:30Yeah, good stuff.
08:31Suck it up, another good round.
08:33Suck it up.
08:34This is brilliant, Terry, yeah?
08:36How do you feel?
08:37Patience is key, OK?
08:39You fresh? Are you fresh?
08:41Stay relaxed.
08:42Go on, have a little drink.
08:44Yeah, all right?
08:46She can't lead off, mate, and I'm doing her head in.
08:48Listen, keep your jab going.
08:50It's working perfect.
08:51Keep that distance and bring her on.
08:53Counter punch.
08:54Just patience.
08:55She's scared to commit now, so just on time.
08:58Keep roughing her up on the inside.
09:00Step in, one, two, come on, and straight back.
09:02Give her a drink.
09:04Keep roughing her up on the inside.
09:06Yeah.
09:07Brilliant.
09:08Now we've got to be a little bit sandy, yeah?
09:10A bit there.
09:11Tidy up.
09:12If you miss, you miss.
09:13Don't get dragged down or anything, yeah?
09:15Stomach's shut.
09:16All right.
09:46More urgency from Dixon at the beginning of this round.
09:51That's better.
09:52You know, she gave up on it, but that little roll and dip,
09:55you've got to do something.
09:56I just think she just keeps her hands tight and walks it down,
09:59but, like, I don't think there's enough power in this
10:03to really push you back.
10:08I haven't just got to wait and be patient and wait for Dixon
10:10to make a mistake.
10:11Yeah, I agree with that.
10:12I think you have to keep your hands high,
10:14and you have to gamble with that left hand.
10:16As soon as she's filled the shot,
10:17and Harbaugh could work from both here.
10:29I think Dixon needs to fence,
10:30but it's Harbaugh who's doing a little fence with her feet.
10:37Ah, good shot.
10:38Terry Harbaugh had the right hand.
10:41And it's that right hand that has made Dixon
10:44hesitant and apprehensive in throwing the left-hand jab.
10:48She's been way, way short of the distance
10:50with that lead-off left hand.
10:55And I think she, look,
10:56she needs to keep the shot straight, like I've said before,
10:59because the hooks, like you say,
11:00she's struggling in the land with the straight shot,
11:02which obviously gets to the target quicker.
11:04She's going to have less chance finding the hook.
11:06So I think this regroup, get back to basics here,
11:09if you're Dixon.
11:10Get behind the jab,
11:11because she's seen this all before, Terry Harbaugh.
11:15You've got to try and make her feel uncomfortable in there.
11:17Right now, she's far from it.
11:20Lead-off with the right hand, of course,
11:21I should have said from Dixon,
11:23but it is falling shy of the distance time and again.
11:27Brilliant!
11:36All right, then.
11:38Round five, nearly halfway there.
11:40You got me.
11:41Keep working on that jab.
11:42Stay relaxed.
11:43Yeah.
11:44OK.
11:45We're OK, we're not tired, are we?
11:46Deep breaths.
11:47Yeah.
11:49Two-two, yeah.
11:51OK.
11:53Let's start letting our hands go.
11:55The rolling ball, yeah?
11:57We've got to relax and just let our hands go.
11:59We're forgetting about our own jab as well, yeah?
12:01The parry jab.
12:02You're getting in the finger,
12:03letting her paw-paw and flag her.
12:05You landed a good body shot,
12:06didn't you, fella,
12:07and then you've done nothing after it, yeah?
12:09He's talking shit to her over there, yeah?
12:11Don't listen to him.
12:13Yeah, she's feeling you.
12:14Stay low, stay low, yeah?
12:16Don't come out high.
12:17Go on, go on.
12:23BELL RINGS
12:27Dixon Anthony Torres,
12:28first champion as a trainer,
12:30and this tonight will be one of his biggest challenges
12:33as Harper has success only inside.
12:37She's done a good job of tying Dixon up there,
12:39but it's all part of the fight,
12:40but no, she's trying to beat their own game here.
12:43But to be saying that,
12:44this is not really Dixon's game, is it?
12:46She's more of a boxer also, really.
12:59Again, Dixon failing to probe
13:01with that lead right hand from her southpaw stance.
13:04Looks to go to the body with the left hand,
13:06but can't deliver the requisite power.
13:09Yeah, what happened with that jab of Dixon's match?
13:12Instead of stepping forward with the shot,
13:14she stepped to the right.
13:16Well, actually, I was going to say that.
13:18When she comes forward,
13:19she's dipping to her left, onto the right hand.
13:21You've got to try and slide.
13:22That's why you get your foot on the outside,
13:24for that reason.
13:25So when you attack, you slide,
13:27kick your head on the blind side of Harper,
13:30and then fire that left hand through the middle.
13:35She's going the other way, Dixon, onto the shoulder.
13:39I don't mind that left hand.
13:40I know she missed with the shot, Dixon,
13:42but get a bit closer.
13:43Try and get that lead hand to touch the target,
13:46then throw the left.
13:51Half a minute to go in the fifth round,
13:53heading towards the halfway stage of this contest.
13:57You've got a left hand there from Dixon
13:59as they come in close.
14:01Blood on the forehead of Harper.
14:22Dixon still looking for a way to get close.
14:28Breathe out your mouth.
14:30Breathe out your mouth.
14:31Very close. Listen to me.
14:33Deep breath. Let your hands go a little bit more.
14:35We've got to start letting our hands go, yeah?
14:38The round's passing us by. She's busy.
14:41Not really doing anything.
14:42She's nice and composed.
14:43You've got to let those hands go.
14:45Listen to me.
14:46We've got to go in twos, yeah?
14:47We've got to pick our feet up, yeah?
14:49I know when you're walking around, yeah?
14:51Those little adjustments with the feet,
14:53we've got to be a little bit busy with our feet.
14:55We've got to be a little bit busy with our feet.
14:57If our feet are there, our hands will go, yeah?
14:59Okay?
15:00You're moving head, body.
15:01Body, head, okay?
15:02Every time you hit her, she feels it.
15:04But you've got to start thinking,
15:05don't let this fight pass you by.
15:06We're five down now, yeah?
15:09Okay?
15:10Yeah, deep breath.
15:11Drink.
15:14Deep breath.
15:15Drink.
15:16Good round from you now.
15:17Good stuff, girl.
15:18Well done.
15:21Round six.
15:26Into the second half of the fight then,
15:28and Kane Dixon
15:30closed down that space.
15:34Intimating in the corner,
15:35Anthony Cruller, that she's behind
15:37and behind by some margin
15:40against a woman who's beaten the championship distance
15:42seven times and in good company.
15:47Yeah, you've made Cruller right in there.
15:49You think that the hat was going to help you reach
15:51or get shot down.
15:52She's over there.
15:55That was a lovely right hook there from Dixon.
15:57Yeah, she felt that.
15:58100% Harper.
16:01She needs to get all over Harper here.
16:06Harper landed a right hand simultaneously
16:08but it was the biggest shot from Dixon.
16:12It's not getting too close here as well for Dixon.
16:15Can she now turn around her way?
16:17Will this be a fight of two halves?
16:20A minute to go in round six.
16:22She's really responded well
16:24to the instructions of Cruller in the corner.
16:28A good shot there from Harper then.
16:32This time absorbed well by Dixon.
16:35And maybe as Barry suggested earlier
16:37it's time to try to walk Harper down
16:39as Dixon lands one of those crunching right hooks again.
16:44Yeah, she took that one well hard
16:46but she went straight on to that right hand of Dixon's.
16:50Yeah, lovely work.
16:53And then that, unfortunately,
16:55I think it's the feet have slowed down a little here
16:57of Terri Harper.
16:59She's not getting out of range
17:01as quick as she was in the early rounds.
17:11She's got a lot of power.
17:14She's got a lot of power.
17:16She's got a lot of power.
17:19She's got a lot of power.
17:22She's got a lot of power.
17:24She's got a lot of power.
17:37Yeah, I need a big 30 seconds of breathing now, yeah?
17:41Through the nose. I'm not going to speak, yeah?
17:43I am going to speak but you're just going to listen.
17:45Take a drink.
17:46Rihanna Dixon, she needs to be busy, she needs to be aggressive, she needs to be sharp.
17:50Worked really, really well there and Terry Harper on the flip side needs to sharpen up
17:56those feet.
17:57Keep things simple, don't get carried away, don't need to be trading with Dixon.
18:02Presley Shaw she hurt with a hook, did Dixon, so just sharpen up those feet, get behind
18:09the jab and look for your own right hand.
18:11Trading with Dixon, who for me is the bigger puncher, is the wrong idea.
18:18She's a lead on her experience now Terry Harper.
18:21Well there could still be plenty to box for here, four rounds remaining and just a sign
18:33in that previous round that Dixon getting closer than at any stage, can she build on
18:38those successes now, round seven.
18:40Isn't it funny though, she believes it, see the more head moves all of a sudden the shoulders
18:44start to move a little bit better.
18:46Yeah the feet are a lot sharper, really closing the gap now, it's down to Terry Harper who
18:52now has a good right hand to sharpen up her feet.
18:54She can be busy with her hands as well, she doesn't have to be as greedy as Dixon but
19:02be busy with the ones and the twos.
19:03Harper has spoken about how the weight making process all over again has added intensity
19:04to her training and at times tonight clearly has added sharpness too.
19:34She's got to roll the dice with that right hand.
19:42Each of them landing solid shots with their backhand.
19:45She's got to get the legs, they came up with a nice little three punch combination, trying
19:53to give herself punching room but Harper holding on.
19:56It's a brilliant fight, it really is.
20:25Yeah, very different here.
20:35We're doing B game, simple.
20:38You know what B game is don't you?
20:40We're counter-punching, right?
20:42Or counter-punching.
20:44Good work there from Harper off the ropes there, Dixon trying to close the gap for Harper,
20:48landing a nice clean shot.
20:49But it wasn't all success for her though, there she is there.
20:53On the ropes, Dixon at last not getting her feet too close and loading with some heavy
20:57artillery there.
20:58Really good round there, really good round for both.
21:00It's a matter of biting down on that gum shield, holding your shape and letting the shots go
21:04that we've worked on.
21:05You do that, you keep that world title okay?
21:07Yeah?
21:08She's good, she's feeling this yeah?
21:11She's got that body yeah?
21:12The Menashe shots are brilliant.
21:13Control them properly yeah?
21:14The second time is far too easy.
21:23Well this could still be decided by the final six minutes of action.
21:27The WBO lightweight title at stake with Rhiannon Dixon making her first defense.
21:33And Harper looking to become a three-weight world champion.
21:39Just pouring a little bit too much for that jab Terry Harper and she had an opportunity
21:42when she stepped back to throw the right hand and use the momentum of Dixon to generate
21:48more power with the shot.
21:49Just waiting a little bit too long Harper for me.
22:09Again at this stage of the contest Dixon needs to be getting closer with that lean right
22:15hand.
22:18Just waiting too long isn't she to commit and I think when she starts moving her head
22:23over her shoulders she gets a little bit of rhythm to her work and then you can get a
22:26pulse on your step and then come forward.
22:28She's just looking the busier Dixon you know she's the aggressor she's the one who's trying
22:40to force the pace.
22:41It's almost getting a little frustrating when you see Terry Harper move the feet backwards
22:46the right hand is there for her but she just keeps going backwards as opposed to move,
22:51planting the feet sorry and letting the right go.
22:53Superb accurate punching from Harper on the back foot waiting for Dixon to make mistakes
23:09and again lands with that solid shot.
23:12Best punch of the fight that was.
23:14Beautiful right hand.
23:15Very impressive spell in the last 30 seconds from Terry Harper.
23:20The pedigree of the experience is shining through.
23:30Keep it up.
23:32Are you good?
23:33Yeah.
23:34Are we having it or what?
23:35Yeah.
23:36Right.
23:37You've just got to get to it my buddy.
23:38Great she's absolutely fucked now.
23:40We can still counter punch and open centre of the ring a little bit we don't have to
23:44go chasing it.
23:45Just relax Terry.
23:46Don't be chasing it.
23:47Four minutes.
23:48Measure and counter punch.
23:49One shot's enough.
23:50Fast one two straight down the middle because she's fucked now.
23:53Time it.
23:54Just count and then go back.
23:56Right do you want another little rinse?
23:58Suck it up Terry.
24:00Four minutes and you're champion of the world.
24:02Well that's exactly what I was asking for.
24:03She was moving back in straight lines Terry Harper and not letting the right go but when
24:07she planted the feet and met Dixon's momentum with the right she had success and that's
24:12what she's got to do.
24:13That's what she's got to do.
24:14She doesn't need to mix fire with fire but on the flip side Dixon needs to get close
24:18now.
24:19Start some attacks downstairs.
24:20Get busy.
24:21Well as Steffi Bull and Paul Deroze were saying in the Harper corner four minutes now to ram
24:32home the advantage.
24:35And this her attempt to win a world title in a third weight division.
24:40You would technically think if she could win one of these darts she might have done enough
24:43here Harper to be a three-time world champion.
24:45So it's all on Dixon here now to get these darts to her and maybe try and force a stop
24:51this year.
24:53It shows you can hurt Harper.
24:55It's all about concentration now for Terry Harper.
25:04Don't make any mistakes.
25:10Yeah needs to keep working there Dixon.
25:18Let the hands go Harper.
25:20Needs to use the feet.
25:28Oh big left duck.
25:30She's hurt.
25:32Tremendous counter punching once again from Terry Harper.
25:36She did it in the previous round.
25:38Dancing on to the back foot.
25:39Inviting Dixon forward and making her pay.
25:44Oh again lovely work.
25:46Tremendous exchange in the centre of the ring.
25:50Just over half a minute to go in the ninth.
25:52Another right hand lands from Harper.
25:54Just created space.
25:55They landed a three-punch combination there Harper.
26:00A big wrong for her here.
26:02Pivotal result.
26:06Good shot to the body at the end of that combination from Terry Harper.
26:13Confident enough to hit back on the front foot.
26:16Fancies herself in a contest of sharpshooting.
26:19Left hand goes through for Dixon.
26:21Another tremendous exchange at the end of the round.
26:26Harper more than happy with her rounds worth.
26:37That was just lovely work there from Harper.
26:39Look at that.
26:40She was swinging up.
26:41She just changed direction with her feet.
26:42Then slid across with the left hook.
26:44Just caught Dixon square foot there.
26:46She took it well but it was a crunching shot.
26:49And do you know what?
26:50That might have just been enough to win her the world title there for Harper.
26:53I think any sort of momentum she had there Dixon might have gone in that wrong.
26:57She for me needs a stoppage.
27:00Yeah she held her feet there and let that big left hook go.
27:03I thought she was stunned ever so slightly for a few seconds.
27:07But she rallied back herself.
27:09But that was a big round like you say Barry for Terry Harper.
27:12Just fell short there and she landed a lovely left hand did Dixon.
27:16But she needs a massive final round here.
27:24Well it would have been a significant hurdle for Terry Harper to climb after
27:31a heavy emphatic defeat last time out.
27:34But so far here this evening she's put her experience and her pedigree
27:38of all of that world title action in the past to such good use.
27:43She's been the cleaner of the punches.
27:47She's got to gamble with that left hand.
27:49Dixon as she backs Terry Harper.
27:51She now lands a nice lead right hook.
27:54But Harper doing the right thing just grabbing hold of Dixon.
27:58Well she's been around long enough now Harper.
28:01She knows how to stay safe.
28:03But Dixon just can't bring her feet too close.
28:05Which she does, it's a good shot.
28:07To hold your feet and throw it again before you get too close.
28:13Good job Harper.
28:14Harper steps up.
28:15It's where she's had a lot of her success in allowing Dixon to step forward.
28:20Dixon powering away to the body.
28:23In this last ditch attempt to hang on to her title.
28:26Inside the final minute of the final round.
28:30Big swelling on the forehead as well of Ran and Dixon.
28:35Good shot.
28:37She's trying to do it.
28:39She's trying to get Harper in trouble.
28:41She's trying to close the gap.
28:43But Harper's been really on point tonight.
28:47Harper's been able to read a lot of what Dixon has been attempting
28:51half a minute to go.
28:53Yeah when you hear the word experience
28:56this is exactly what Terry Harper has shown here.
28:58She's been disciplined.
28:59She's picked her moments correctly.
29:01Yes she has hauled on to a couple of shots.
29:03But it's her game plan, her style that has done well here this evening.
29:09Don't stop.
29:16Both women punching away in the last 10 seconds of the contest.
29:21The final bell will sound any moment now.
29:24As Terry Harper and her corner celebrate.
29:27Dixon also.
29:28But far more muted celebrations.
29:31In the defending champions corner.
29:33Paul Giroux's there.
29:35The long time amateur trainer.
29:37Back in the fold.
29:40And Rihanna Dixon in that first defense of the title.
29:43Thinking that she would have the advantages.
29:50In terms of the momentum of her career.
29:55That Terry Harper brought all of her experience and pedigree to the fore.
30:00The eye catching cleaner punches were landed.
30:03By the former two weight world champion.
30:06Dixon just couldn't get close enough.
30:09I still think that Harper does panic when she gets hit heavy.
30:12Like we all do.
30:13But I think that she shows it.
30:14That's the problem.
30:15But Dixon, except for that one real time where she did whack it with a good shot.
30:19Just couldn't get close enough.
30:20And that's all down to Harper.
30:22Maybe backed on in this weight.
30:23She's bigger.
30:24She's the bigger lady again.
30:25That will get to her opponent.
30:27And just lightly on her feet.
30:29And she was very, very disciplined with her work.
30:32Yeah, she was sharp.
30:33She was accurate.
30:34Disciplined.
30:35Head's coming together there.
30:36There was moments where you thought the tide was shifting.
30:39And Dixon was going to get on top of Harper.
30:42But then back come.
30:45The former two time world champion.
30:47I think that's where the swelling on the head.
30:49You can see the blood.
30:53From the nose of Dixon.
30:55It was a brilliant fight though.
30:56It ebbed and flowed in the second half of the contest.
31:00I would argue to say that was Harper's best performance.
31:02Because I think she was really controlled.
31:04Disciplined.
31:05She didn't make any silly mistakes.
31:07And even when she got caught, she didn't panic at all.
31:09And I thought that was a real controlled, as you say, experienced performance.
31:20Well, this has all the makings of one of the highlights of the year in boxing globally.
31:25As Dimitri Bivol and Artur Baturbiev go at it for the undisputed light heavyweight title in Riyadh in two weeks time.
31:33Live here on The Zone.
31:41So let's then get the verdict from David Diamante.
31:47Ladies and gentlemen, after ten rounds of action here in Sheffield.
31:51We go to the judges scorecard.
31:56Antonio Moronia and Marta Leshner both scored the bout 97 to 93.
32:04Michael Alexander, 96 to 94.
32:10All three for your winner by unanimous decision.
32:16And the new WBO light heavyweight champion of the world, Terry Baturbiev!
32:26And look what it means to the new champion.
32:29She left the ring in despair last time out.
32:32And many wonder whether she would ever emotionally, psychologically be able to recover.
32:37But she's done that.
32:38With, as Barry was saying, if not the performance of her career, certainly one of the best.
32:44And she is champion again in a third weight division.
32:49Incredible.
32:50Incredible performance.
32:51Incredible.
32:52Incredible performance.
32:53And she was almost in shock when she heard her name read there.
32:58But it really was a good performance.
33:00Like I say, she had her moments, Dixon.
33:02But experience showed there she was smart.
33:07She was disciplined, like I say.
33:09And she has another bit of silverware, or is it gold, to take back home.
33:15Incredible stuff.
33:17And that's the WBO lightweight belt draped around her waist on the judges' scorecards.
33:23Two of them had it to her by seven rounds to three.
33:26And the third judge, six rounds to four.
33:30A unanimous decision in favour of Terry Harper, who at the age of 27,
33:36and with Steffi Baller on the right and her long-time amateur trainer Paul DeRose on the left,
33:43Ryan Rhodes jumping in to join in the celebrations.
33:47Three fingers being held up by Steffi Ball, once an opponent of Amir Khan in Amir Khan's early days.
33:55And has been by the side of Terry Harper so often in the corner.
34:00But the head coach this time around, that man there, Paul DeRose,
34:04who, as I was saying in commentary, Terry Harper said she begged him to get back on board.
34:11And the successful partnership has produced a world title winning night.
34:16And now, let's get our verdict from Ali.
34:19Terry and the new WBO lightweight world champion, and now a three-weight world champion.
34:27How does that sound?
34:28Amazing. For me, that's my best win of my career just for the last couple of fights,
34:35everything I've had to overcome from them.
34:39This camp's been a long one, but I've become a new fighter mentally, physically.
34:44And just a massive thanks to my team, my partner Gemma, just for being my rock,
34:49and everyone who's got me into this position to even step through them ropes again.
34:54Now, to talk us through the game plan going in there tonight,
34:57we saw some absolutely fantastic counters from you.
35:00Was that the plan going in?
35:02Yeah, we saw that from the early lead-off, so we worked a lot on counters, obviously.
35:07It's how you get caught by shots.
35:10There was one point in that fight where I got caught by a good shot,
35:14and I really had to dig deep to get myself through that round.
35:17Luckily, I'm fit and better down at this weight, obviously, not getting hit with a big girl.
35:23So I managed to recover quite quick and get my senses back,
35:27and then just get back to game plan and back to work.
35:30You said that this was the last roll of the dice. It's paid off for you.
35:35But how much pressure did that put on your shoulders before tonight?
35:38It's what I needed.
35:40To be honest, I've probably fallen out of love with the sport,
35:43so I needed that bit of fire to really get me going in the gym.
35:48Obviously, Paul and Andrew have really been there behind me all the way,
35:52and pushing me and motivating me.
35:54Just for me to get this is everything I've ever wanted.
35:58Eddie, let's bring you in.
36:00It was a fantastic fight, and she's now a three-weight world champion.
36:05Yeah, it's amazing. All week, I was thinking,
36:08everyone was saying this is the last roll of the dice, and she's 27 years old.
36:12Obviously, she achieved so much so young,
36:15but to become a three-weight world champion is a massive, massive achievement.
36:20Think about the fights that she's been involved with over her career.
36:23Obviously, the Tasha Jonas fight, Alicia Baumgardner, Cecilia Brackhouse, Sandy Ryan,
36:29and now Rhiannon Dixon as well, and so many more.
36:32It's a massive, massive achievement.
36:34I thought it was a brilliant fight.
36:36I'm so glad we kept this show on.
36:38It's been a nightmare, and these girls have been training so hard for so long.
36:42We made the decision to keep the event on,
36:44and she makes history tonight, three-division world champion.
36:47And now sits on the brink of some massive fights.
36:51There's some huge names out there.
36:53It was a real back-and-forward fight.
36:55Terry got buzzed, recovered really well.
36:58It was non-stop action, and it was a really, really great fight to watch.
37:02I'm really pleased for Steffi and the team.
37:04They've worked so hard.
37:05It's so good to see her back at lightweight.
37:07Up at 54 and 47, it was just too big for her.
37:10There was a lot of pressure on her tonight
37:12because at such a young age, it was almost like, like you said,
37:16last roll of the dice.
37:18It's a massive, massive achievement in the sport of boxing.
37:22We will let you celebrate this achievement,
37:24but Eddie, before this fight,
37:25there was talk of the winner going on to unify.
37:27Is that what will be next?
37:28Yeah, I mean, look, such a good fight.
37:30Maybe we see that again down the line.
37:32You know, you've got Beatrice Ferreira,
37:33our other world champion in the division.
37:35You've got Alicia Baumgardner, potential rematch if she moves up.
37:38You like, yeah?
37:40I'm not going back down.
37:41No, no, she'd have to come up to fight you.
37:43You know, you've got Katie Taylor,
37:45fighting Amanda Serrano in a couple of months.
37:47You know, Amanda Serrano, there's so many fights out there.
37:50Could Chantel Cameron come down to lightweight?
37:52I don't know, but she's the boss right now.
37:54Tonight, she becomes world champion again.
37:56Three times, three divisions.
37:58It's an incredible achievement.
38:00It certainly is.
38:01Let's bring in Steffi Bill.
38:02Come on.
38:03Come in.
38:05Corey.
38:07Steffi, you've been there from the start.
38:09I'm Paul.
38:10Come in.
38:11Just what does this mean tonight?
38:12Well, I mean, a career on the line tonight.
38:16But we never had doubt.
38:19And I've been pestering her to go down the weights.
38:21But because she won a reigning world champion,
38:23we rolled the dice.
38:24He gave us the opportunity.
38:26She got the monies that she deserved.
38:28But she's always been this way.
38:29And people think we always had an excuse.
38:31But Terry's never, never turned the fight down, has she?
38:34She takes every opportunity.
38:36She's a throwback.
38:37And I've got, that's how we work in our gym, Jason Cunningham.
38:41You know, he's a fine example of a defeat don't mean anything.
38:45Her last fight, she were out, gone down.
38:47Look, tonight, three-weight world champion.
38:50We're happy.
38:51What does it mean to be here?
38:53Amazing.
38:54We've done it!
38:55Yay!
