00:00Beirut was already struggling to absorb thousands of people displaced from the south, now making
00:06matters worse, a new crisis.
00:09Hundreds of families forced to sleep on the streets, fleeing their homes to escape Israel's
00:13terrifying bombardment of Dahiya, Hezbollah's stronghold in southern Beirut, on Friday.
00:19Many are Syrian refugees who once again find themselves caught up in conflict.
00:25We just want to bless these children and not let them be afraid.
00:29We fled the Syrian war in 2010-2011.
00:33We died, we fled for these children.
00:36Now that we're here, it's the same war.
00:39They fled anywhere they could, to schools turned into shelters, public beaches and squares,
00:45like here in the city centre.
00:48Yes, they're afraid, of course.
00:50But you find that the fear is reduced a little bit because of what we've seen here.
00:56It's a disaster.
00:58Houses are collapsing, children are leaving.
01:01What can one say?
01:03Others dragged their children and belongings up into the hills overlooking the Lebanese
01:07capital in search of safety.
01:09Their ordeal worsens what was already a serious humanitarian crisis.
01:14And to the south, where a week of intense bombardment has ravaged the landscape, local
01:19health systems are close to collapse, like here in Saqsaqiya.
01:24We left our families and children in a place where we could provide as much humanitarian
01:31and medical care as we could.
01:33We couldn't stand next to our families who are suffering and who have left their homes.
01:38It was very hard for us, we stayed for more than 36 hours without sleep.
01:42More than 700 people have been killed in less than a week after Israel ramped up its
01:47attacks on Lebanese territory, vowing to cripple Hezbollah.
