00:00So when Oasis came up, they kind of defined that era and brought a whole generation with them,
00:06really, musically. The music was uplifting. It kind of spoke to a generation. So I think Oasis
00:15were just at the right place at the right time just to ride that wave of 90s Britpop, really.
00:24According to Reddit, around 14 million accounts attempted to get tickets for Oasis,
00:28leaving many people disappointed. Some people were priced out and others simply did not get
00:35close enough to the front of the queue. Instead of seeing the band, who haven't played a gig in
00:41over 17 years, many locals are looking to attend tribute gigs, many of which are known for their
00:47strong likeness to the band. Let's chat to some of these tribute acts to find out more.
00:53So my name's Aaron. I'm the drummer. The most important one is what I would say. The rest of
01:01the guys may not agree. Yeah, we've been doing the Oasis tribute for about 11 years now.
01:08It's went through the roof the past three weeks, three, four weeks. We're pretty much booked out
01:14for all the next year, which at this time of the year, September, the year before, is quite unheard
01:20of. Usually we don't get the diary filled until February time and you'll see the rest of the year
01:25fill up. But it's now looking busy for next year. So that's great. It's been really unreal at the
01:32moment. The 11-hour queue for Oasis tickets saw the site crashing, leaving many fans devastated.
01:41But for tribute bands, this has left an opportunity for more of their own gigs to
01:46celebrate the band and their famous songs. Anna, what do you think it gives an opportunity for
01:55tribute bands and other musicians such as yourselves with a band coming up like this?
02:02Yeah, I mean, I think Oasis being back together is a great thing. It will inspire a whole new
02:07generation of young original bands as well. I mean, obviously everybody can't get a ticket,
02:14so that's where we come in. People will come and see us purely because they couldn't get tickets,
02:19which I think there's millions at the moment. But like I say, I think it inspires a lot of
02:24young original bands. We always like to have young original bands opening for us as well,
02:30just to sort of help their profile. The amount of people that come to see us, it certainly helps them.
02:35Generation that never got to see Oasis that are now going to get that chance.
02:39So it's reignited that buzz. You've got the parents that are excited,
02:43the kids that are excited. And I think people that can't get tickets, what's the next best thing?
02:49Go and see a tribute band. And hopefully, we play Bristol quite regularly. We've got a good
02:54enough reputation that people think, you know, well, you know, I missed out on Oasis, go and
02:59watch these guys.
