00:00Now that you're back in Mumbai, and you used to meet people here from time to time.
00:13Who did you meet? Jackie Shroff, Subhash Ghai, Sunny Deol whom you met recently.
00:23To be honest, I haven't met him yet. I have met Jackie Shroff a few times.
00:32I went to his son's premiere show and met a lot of people there.
00:38Jackie has a very good trait. He gives people respect and love very naturally and spontaneously.
00:52Especially to women.
00:57I think we did three films with him, if I'm not mistaken.
01:02My experience with him has always been positive and fantastic.
01:10Didn't he give you a plant?
01:13Yes, he did. That's why I'm a bit of a gardener now. I have a lot of plants in my flat in Pune.
01:23Tell me, can you tell me a little bit about each of your variety of heroes, from Anil Kapoor to Sunny Deol?
01:35One thing about each of them. Shall we start with Jackie?
01:40I thought you would start with those actors who were in the 60s and 70s.
01:46No, they didn't work with you.
01:48They did. Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha.
01:52They were in the 60s. What are you doing?
01:54Jeetendra. No, they were in the late 60s.
01:58No, very late 60s.
02:00Yeah, you can start with them also.
02:03Everyone used to say that Rajesh Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha are very temperamental, very egoistic.
02:09I didn't see anything like that.
02:12Either they were extra nice to me because they thought I was a kid.
02:16Hoshiyaar film was being shot in Chennai.
02:19I had to catch a flight back to Mumbai for another shooting.
02:23Only Shatrughan and I were left in the scene.
02:26I requested, Shatrughan, can you come at 6 am?
02:30He never comes that early.
02:32Late Lateef.
02:34He came and after the scene was over, he said, don't tell anyone.
02:38They won't even believe it.
02:42I did two films with Rajesh Khanna.
02:45I used to ask for rehearsals and he would willingly come and rehearse.
02:49Because both the films had very difficult scenes with us, dramatic scenes.
02:55With Amit Ji, also over rehearsing.
02:58He used to get better in every rehearsal and I used to get worse.
03:02Shehenshah was one of the bigger ones.
03:04Shehenshah was one of the bigger ones.
03:06Then Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati, Akela, Toofaan.
03:10But I got to learn a lot from them.
03:13In terms of how to project to the audience.
03:20I remember at Shehenshah's music release, we all came.
03:24And you came before them.
03:27And you were sitting with us.
03:29And he came and that's the time he pushed Teenu Anand in the swimming pool.
03:34Right?
03:35Yes.
03:37But you kept out of all these antics, I remember.
03:41I was a little stupid too.
03:45Let me accept it.
03:48Stupidity is better than boring.
03:52I did a couple of films with Jeetendra Ji.
03:56I have a best memory.
03:57We were shooting for a song in Ooty.
04:00And big musambis, down the slopes, hilly slopes of Ooty, were coming towards us.
04:07They were falling and coming down the hill?
04:10And do you know, when a musambi comes with that force,
04:13it hits your body.
04:15It hurts so much.
04:17And we were singing sensuous songs.
04:21I'll never forget that.
04:25Jackie's first major film,
04:29was introduced by Mr. Dev.
04:31And I was introduced by Mr. Manoj.
04:33Their second film was Hero.
04:35Everyone thought it was weird.
04:37He's so westernized.
04:39His style.
04:41And Meenakshi is so...
04:45Indian.
04:47And so timid.
04:49How will this film be made?
04:51But everybody had to eat their words.
04:53Because Subhash ji knew exactly what he was doing.
04:57His songs,
04:59the flute,
05:01everyone still remembers it.
05:03It's been 40 years.
05:05I want to tell you about Ayesha.
05:08She was Miss Young India.
05:10And went from Miss Young International
05:12to Philippines, I think.
05:14And I was Miss India, and I went
05:16next year, to Japan.
05:18She found a video from here,
05:20which was so difficult to find in those days.
05:22She found a video of my contest.
05:24My pageant.
05:26Presented it to me and said,
05:28this is for you for keepsake.
05:30How sweet.
05:32I still remember that.
05:34Do you still have it?
05:37My name is Shashikala Sehwagri
05:39and I represent my country, India.
05:41Namaskar.
05:43Wow.
05:45Ayesha matlab, Mrs. Jackie Shaw.
05:47Mrs. Jackie Shaw.
05:49Anil Kapoor ke saath
05:51mere maximum films hain.
05:53More than any other hero.
05:57And wo controversial kissing scene jo tha,
05:59Vijay mein.
06:01I could do it because of Yash ji
06:03and Anil.
06:05Very professional,
06:07laid back, very relaxed.
06:09I kind of knew that on screen,
06:11it's going to look
06:13well managed.
06:15It would not look perverted
06:17and weird.
06:19Or sleazy.
06:23Sunny ke saath bhi hua.
06:25Dakayat mein we had a kissing scene,
06:27but the censors cut it.
06:29Audience ko malom nahi kya tha.
06:31But I think
06:33my major successes
06:35are with Sunny.
06:37Aaj tak mere fans bote hain,
06:39please do a movie with Sunny,
06:41please do a movie with him.
06:43Damini is
06:45of course the all time favourite.
06:47Waise of course you've done Ghayal,
06:49Ghatak, so many others also.
06:51And Dakayat.
06:53You know one very interesting thing,
06:55aapke jo heroes the,
06:57matlab,
06:59the major ones,
07:01Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor,
07:03Jackie Shroff,
07:05wo 30 saal ke baay abhi bhi chal rahe hain.
07:07So that is very
07:09interesting you know.
07:11What would you think the reason
07:13for their longevity is?
07:15Anil Kapoor, what is it about him
07:17that's brought him this far?
07:19Do teen baate hain.
07:21Ek toh yaha
07:23ek given ideology hain
07:25ki heroes will have a long innings.
07:27Toh previous
07:29generation me bhi le lijiye,
07:31Dharamji, Jeetuji, Amitji,
07:33they're like quite strong.
07:35Phir dusri baat
07:37ye hain ki
07:39men
07:41are not really the home
07:43runner, running the home.
07:45So they can devote themselves
07:47kareer pe poora poora dhyaan
07:49de sakte hain.
07:51Aur teesri baat ye hain ki
07:53they don't have to
07:55factor in childbirth and pregnancy
07:59or child rearing.
08:01Toh wo kaafi
08:03aurton ke jimein aata hai.
08:05There you go, you have all the reasons
08:07why they're still going strong.
08:09And of course,
08:11people still like them.
08:13Very important.
08:15That's true.
08:25.
