00:00We all look for up-to-date information, but there are situations where we can use older versions of web pages.
00:11Google helps us in this regard because it goes through the entire web,
00:14storing versions of the web pages it found in cache.
00:17To do this, we use the CACHE instruction in the search box.
00:20If we want to see the CNN website page stored in cache, we write cache://www.cnn.com.
00:29We are given the last CNN page stored in Google's cache.
00:33If we notice, the page has about two days, which means it was the last time Google went there to index it.
00:39This function is quite useful in case we need to see sites that are temporarily unavailable.
00:45But it is also possible to see old things by specifying the date interval we want.
00:49For this, we have the DATE RANGE instruction.
00:52The syntax is simple.
00:53Just enter the expression we want, followed by DATE RANGE, two dots, initial date minus final date.
01:00The trick here is to know that the dates have to be entered in JULIANTIME format and not GREGORIANTIME,
01:05which is the format we usually use.
01:07For those who do not know this time format, there are several online converters for this purpose.
01:12Once we have found a data converter, we can finally start the search.
01:16Imagining that we want to search for pages on the well-known Pentium processor of Intel,
01:20between July 20, 2000 and August 22, 2002,
01:24just enter INTEL PENTIUM, followed by DATE RANGE, initial date minus final date.
01:31The result is all the pages referenced with INTEL PENTIUM among the dates we want.
01:36If we happen to want only pages in certain formats, such as Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, among others,
01:44we can use the FILE TYPE option.
01:46If there is a search explained before we add FILE TYPE, two dots, PDFs,
01:50the result will be all the PDF documents with the INTEL PENTIUM reference in the indicated dates.
01:55It is up to you to experiment and facilitate your web search work.
