00:07:48This is a player that's hit over 300 for his career in terms of batting average, and being
00:07:55able to do that, that is extremely good bat-to-ball skills that he's had for a long time.
00:08:00He's just got a real consistent approach, uses all fields, and he's got a game plan
00:08:05when it comes to the plate.
00:08:06So let's just keep our eyes on him.
00:08:08I think it's pretty hard to take your eyes off of him.
00:08:20Now fly ball to right center, Ramirez, on the move to the gap, makes the grab for the
00:08:26second out.

00:11:53He's been swinging it really well lately.
00:11:55Really nice job staying up the middle with his approach.
00:11:57He didn't try to do too much with the pitch, just shot it through the infield.

00:12:12Perry, he has a reputation, I don't know, maybe a knack for working himself out of tough
00:12:17situations that he finds himself in.
00:12:19You like that in a relief pitcher, but when you have it for a starting pitcher, a guy
00:12:23that can't get out of a tight spot, that is pretty valuable.
00:12:27Ramirez stands at first with one out.
00:12:34And you won't see the skipper rush to get somebody up in the bullpen as soon as he starts
00:12:45to see some signs of trouble.
00:12:47This guy's earned a longer leash, and because of that, confidence grows with the players
00:12:51and teammates playing behind him that when things get a little rough out there, they
00:12:55know he'll find his way through it.

00:13:01It's interesting, he plays kind of a power spot defensively, but runs pretty well.
00:13:07So when you're looking at that position, you're not swinging, this one's blasted, it's got
00:13:12a chance, and that one is off the top of the wall.
00:13:17Relay throw, head first, slide safe at the plate, and it's 1-0.
00:13:23That started and ended pretty quickly, no messing around right there.
00:13:27Ramirez pitched fastball in a great spot to do some damage, and he squared it up nicely.

00:13:54I think it's very much being able to have a laser-like focus, slow everything down,

00:19:00a long time, and that produces solid contact consistently.
00:19:06My goodness, Chris, he had to generate a ton of power in that jump throw for the out.

00:19:18I mean, you've got to have a powerful arm to play third base in the big leagues, and
00:19:22he just showed us why he's at this level.

00:19:47field, and it doesn't always translate into the game, but right there it did, and he did

00:31:53So what we're seeing in baseball, so many more people behind the scenes that are contributing

00:32:25They are sticking to the metrics and what seems to be most consistent for that hitter
00:32:30regardless of who the pitcher is on the mound.
