00:00Well, first things first, Maranci, what did you think of Otani in that performance?
00:07I don't think I've ever seen a guy go off like that in a baseball game.
00:11I'll tell you what, Scott, as it settles in right now, I figured I had to rock the Dodger
00:16gear today in honor of it.
00:19How is that not the best game in the history of Major League Baseball, Scott?
00:22The guy went 6-for-6 with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs, 3 home runs, 6-for-6 at the plate, stole
00:32two bases, and oh yeah, all in a game in which he became the first 50-50 player in the history
00:39of Major League Baseball.
00:42It's the greatest game ever, and I don't think it's a stretch to say he's the best player
00:47ever.
00:48I don't like to get into, and I know the New York media and the L.A. media, it's always,
00:54wow, you're having a better season than Judge, Judge is having a better season than Otani,
00:58and this, that.
00:59They're both great players, so I don't want to get into that, but it's hard not to say
01:04that Otani really is arguably the greatest player ever when you throw in the fact that
01:08he can pitch.
01:09And he's coming off a Tommy John surgery.
01:12He's injured, which is like, oh, don't worry, I can't pitch, but I'll hit for you.
01:16Unbelievable.
01:17I'll tell you what, if he, if the Dodgers are able to win the World Series this year,
01:22I think it'll be the greatest year in the history of, like, baseball, right?
01:26I mean, players have had great individual achievements, but how many players have had,
01:29like, a great individual achievement, did something that's never been done before in
01:33the history of the sport, and then won the championship to top it off, right?
01:39They need to win the championship.
01:40Now, baseball is a different sport, you know, and players aren't judged by championships.
01:45It's not like basketball, where there's only five guys on the court.
01:48You can only do so much if you're one dude, right?
01:50I mean, Otani's played in nearly 900 games without playing in a playoff game, right?
01:55He was still great on the Angels.
01:57The Angels sucked.
01:58So it is what it is, but we all know, Scott, that true greatness is championships, right?
02:05So he's got all the individual accolades already.
02:07He's got, like, he won the World Baseball Classic, he was the freaking closer and struck
02:12out Mike Trout to win the game and the championship.
02:15So he's done it all, except the World Series.
02:19I think the Dodgers are right there, as long as they can, like, roll together some sort
02:23of pitching staff for the playoffs, because that's the Dodgers' issue, guys.
02:27The Dodgers can smoke the ball, all right?
02:29The Dodgers can hit for real, but the Dodgers' pitching staff is just absolutely besieged
02:35with injuries, and it's really going to be a day-by-day operation once they get to the
02:39postseason who's pitching every day.
02:41So it could be a problem for them.
02:43Well, it's bound to be a problem.
02:46When your pitching is all broken and you have nobody that can pitch and you're throwing
02:51anything like a noodle against the fridge to see if it'll stick, I think you're going
02:55to have problems.
02:56There's no doubt they can score runs, play defense, everything else, but if you can't
03:01pitch and get guys out and the other teams raking, too, all the teams in the playoffs
03:05can hit.
03:06All the teams in the playoffs are good.
03:09The problem is, their pitchers get hurt all the time, like one after another.
03:13They're a mess.
03:14They're a mess.
03:15They're a mess.
03:16They're a mess out.
03:17Yeah, but Bobby Miller's not going to be pitching in the playoffs.
03:19Stone's out.
03:20Glasnow's out.
03:21Kershaw's broken.
03:22And Buehler, you can't trust.
03:23Yeah, but like I said, Stone, Stone, no, you can't.
03:28That's a problem.
03:29So as I stated, they still can put this thing together.
03:33It's going to be built, and now you've got Yamamoto, right?
03:36Jack Flaherty's going to have to step up.
03:38So they traded for Flaherty.
03:39You're going to have Yamamoto.
03:40It's going to be sorted by committee, which is tough to get by, you know, like for multiple
03:46series.
03:47I can't dispute that.
03:48But at the same point in time, they still have about two weeks or so, give or take.
03:53They're not first out of the gate.
03:54They're going to have a buy, most likely, to get this thing set.
03:58They're going to be in the mix.
03:59I think them and Philadelphia are on a collision course.
04:01You know, to see what's going on.
04:08Yeah.
04:09Yeah.
04:10Yeah.
04:11Yeah.
04:12Yeah.
04:13Yeah.
04:14Yeah.
04:15Yeah.
04:16Yeah.
04:17Yeah.
04:18Yeah.
04:19Yeah.
04:20Yeah.
04:21Yeah.
04:22Yeah.
04:23Yeah.
04:24Yeah.
04:25Yeah.
04:26Yeah.
04:27Yeah.
04:28Yeah.
04:29Yeah.
04:30Yeah.
04:31Yeah.
04:32Yeah.
04:33Yeah.
04:34Yeah.
04:35Yeah.
04:36Yeah.
