00:00Asembley
00:20Madam President
00:22Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen
00:26Mahatma Gandhi said
00:28There is no path to peace, peace is the path
00:32In the same spirit of fraternal love and open heart
00:36I address you today on behalf of the Republic of Serbia
00:40A founding country of the United Nations
00:42A country of freedom and justice
00:44It is my honor to address you as President of the Republic of Serbia
00:48The country on whose behalf I stand proudly before you today
00:52A country that, despite the current global challenges
00:54Consistently perseveres in defending the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and international law
01:02And that, through its activities and principled policy
01:06Strongly advocates the idea that is the main topic of this year's session
01:10Ladies and gentlemen
01:12When we talk about the current moment
01:14This year again
01:16To my immense regret
01:18I have to state that the situation in the world
01:20Seems even more difficult and dark than a year ago
01:24Tensions are growing
01:26And challenges are becoming more numerous and complex
01:28What worries me the most is that
01:30Despite our declaratory efforts for peace
01:32Development and prosperity of humanity
01:36There is no end in sight to this geopolitical nightmare
01:40I would not like to see the wise words of the former President John Fitzgerald Kennedy
01:44Becoming the words of a prophet
01:46And when you ask them, when we ask them
01:48In accordance
01:50To which international document you do that
01:52Because all that is
01:54The attempt to provoke a war
01:56Violation of the UN norms
01:58And then, like a fig leaf
02:00You get the stupidest possible answer in the world
02:02Well, we do not accept the UN Charter
02:04And the UN Resolution
02:06Because for us, the situation has changed
02:08Because we recognized the independence of Kosovo
02:1015 years ago
02:12And what is their message to us, my dear friends?
02:14Their message is
02:16We are the power
02:18We are God
02:20We are the United Nations
02:22The law of the United Nations and the UN Resolution
02:24We can do whatever we want
02:26The way we want
02:28And as long as we want
02:30And now I am asking you, dear friends, dear representatives
02:32Not the ones of
02:34Obedient and satellite puppet countries
02:36But you freedom-loving nations and countries
02:38What we as a small country can do
02:40How can we fight?
02:42Because everybody in the world
02:44Speaks about Ukraine
02:46No one dares to speak about Serbia
02:48And even if they do
02:50They say how we will start the war in the Balkans
02:52Upon the Russian order
02:54To understand well the mechanisms of lies
02:56The mechanisms of fraud
02:58In international relations
03:00And to try to gather here
03:02In the most important organization
03:04To try to change it
03:06To try to respect it
03:08Because it is the only way to preserve peace
03:10This way
03:12The world is on the verge of disaster
03:14And everyone is allegedly defending principles
03:16No one admits any mistakes
03:18And it is clear to everybody
03:20That there are no principles anywhere
03:22Nor anybody has them
03:24Neither ones nor the others
03:26Only the small ones that have nowhere else to go
03:28And the principles
03:30Are the only thing they can grasp
03:32And the only thing
03:34That has left to the big ones
03:36Once they have crushed all the small ones
03:38Is to eat each other
03:40And when the bite is no longer so easy and small
03:42It is then that they remember the principles
03:44And accuse the others
03:46For violating those same principles
03:48A representative of my country
03:50Vladislav Jovanovich
03:52Exceptional Serbian diplomat
03:54Very respected one
03:56On that 24th of March 1999
03:58When the aggression against Serbia started
04:00In the Security Council of the United Nations
04:02On behalf of the government
04:04Of the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
04:06Made an urgent appeal to all countries
04:08To categorically oppose
04:10To aggression against our country
04:12And just hear his words
04:1425 years after
