00:06has been sentenced.
00:08Joseph Nichols, 43, from Sidcup in south-east London, shared a post in a closed anti-ULES
00:14Facebook group in April 2023.
00:18The post encouraged members to damage and dismantle ULES cameras.
00:23Following his post, Mr Nichols then sent an email to the company that operates the cameras
00:28saying if he saw any of their electricians, he would smash each and every one of them
00:33in the face.
00:34At Woolwich Crown Court, the father of three was given a suspended jail sentence of ten
00:39months for sharing the social media post.
00:42He was also given 18 weeks for the threatening email.
00:45Both sentences were to run concurrently.
00:48In court, Prosecutor Charles Evans said the note by Nichols was intended to cause distress
00:53or anxiety.
