00:26Meanwhile, the ratification process by the DPRRI was completed at the end of 2023.

00:37when giving a media briefing at the New York State Department Headquarters,
00:41the handover of this instrument is an official sign of Indonesia's commitment to ban nuclear weapons,
00:48affirming its active role in maintaining world peace.
00:52This treaty prohibits the member states to carry out testing, storage, and development of nuclear weapons.
01:04In addition, it also prohibits the member states to facilitate other countries to carry out testing, storage, and testing of nuclear weapons.
01:18That is one of the significant progress that Indonesia has made this year.
01:24Until now, there are 93 countries that have signed the TPNW,
01:30with 71 countries that have completed the ratification,
01:33including Indonesia and 6 other ASEAN countries,
01:36namely Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
01:42In the future, Indonesia will encourage more member states to join the TPNW
01:48in order to reduce the risk of using nuclear weapons.
