Taiwan Urges U.S. To Consider Deeper Weapons Ties

Taiwan is requesting the U.S. allow it access to its defense supply chain, deepening military ties and opening up opportunities for Taiwan to push through weapons-trade restrictions with other countries. Taiwanese representatives at the 23rd U.S.-Taiwan Defense Industry Conference in Philadelphia say Taiwan will struggle to strengthen its defense capabilities if it must continue to rely only on the U.S. for arms sales.
