हर साल अश्विनी मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को जीवित्पुत्रिका व्रत पड़ता है. इस व्रत को जितिया और जिउतिया व्रत भी कहते हैं. महिलाएं अपने पुत्र की दीर्घायु के लिए ये व्रत रखती हैं. व्रत रखने वाली महिलाएं लाल और पीले रंग के धागे को धारण करती हैं, ऐसे में चलिए बताते हैं इस धागे को पारण से पहले पहनना चाहिए या बाद में.

Every year, Jivitputrika Vrat is observed on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwini month. This fast is also known as Jitiya and Jiutiya Vrat.
