00:00Police said rescuers are searching for two missing babies who were swept away by a flash
00:07flood in interior Sukh Sabah on Tuesday night.
00:10Keningau District Police Chief Superintendent Yampil Garai said the incident happened at
00:159.32 pm at the baby's house in Kampung Dalit.
00:20He said the family lived in the quarters at Karamatoi Ulu, located about 20 metres away
00:25from the Talangkai River.
00:26He said the river swelled after hours of continuous rain since 5.00 pm.
00:31The babies are aged three-month-old and two-years-old.
00:35They were among seven people swept away by the flood, while five others managed to survive.
00:40The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said they received a distress call on the incident
00:44at 10.00 pm, but the rescue team only managed to reach the interior at 3.00 am.
00:50Authorities believe that the flooding may have been triggered by logging activities
00:54upstream of the Talangkai River.
