00:00The Department of Finance is confident that the country's inflation will continue to decline until next year.

00:33According to the National Economic and Development Authority,

00:36the overall inflation decreased by 3.3% in August

00:40from 4.4% in July due to the slow food and non-food inflation,

00:44where rice is the major inflation driver.

00:47The food inflation decreased to 3.9% in August

00:52compared to 6.4% in July

00:55Due to this, the price of rice, meat, bread, other cereals, and ready-made food products increased.

01:02There was also a deflation in the price of fish, vegetables, and sugar.

01:06Non-food inflation also decreased by 2.9%

01:09where the reasons were restaurants and accommodation services,

01:12water, electricity, gas, and other raw materials.

01:15Meanwhile, in a press briefing in Malacanang,

01:17Finance Secretary Ralph Recto said that the country's inflation is on a downward trend

01:22where inflation is expected to fall by 2.5% this month.

01:26It is expected that inflation will reach 2.9% to 3.1% next year.

01:32The country's inflation is lower than the global average, which reached 5.9%.
