Federal prosecutors revealed new details about an alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump by Ryan Wesley Routh. Routh was arrested near Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course after allegedly fleeing the scene with a rifle. Court documents show that Routh had written a letter admitting his intention to assassinate Trump and offered a $150,000 reward for anyone who could complete the task. A witness found the letter in a box filled with ammunition and weapons that Routh had previously dropped off. Prosecutors said Routh had a clear shot at Trump from a “sniper’s nest” and was lying in wait for hours.
