00:00Because it can no longer be sold,
00:02a lot of tomatoes and bell peppers were thrown away in Nueva Vizcaya.
00:08Mark Salazar has the report.
00:13That's how many bell peppers were thrown away on the side of the road in Bayumbong, Nueva Vizcaya.
00:18There are more than 20 crates of bell peppers that are being sold because of the rain.
00:23It can no longer be sold, so the farmers just threw them away.
00:27Last week, tomatoes were thrown away there.
00:30Even though the price dropped, they were still not sold.
00:33According to the Municipal Agriculture Office,
00:35the quality of the tomatoes changed because of the rain.
00:39In the streets of Pangasinan,
00:40vendors are discarding the tomatoes to be sold.
00:43We're just filling it up, ma'am.
00:46So that when we put it in plastic, it won't get too wet.
00:49It's only P35 to P40 per kilo.
00:52Before, it was P80.
00:54In Dagupan City, the sale of bell peppers is also slow.
00:57It's easy to get damaged or rotten.
01:00Maybe for P5 per kilo, we can get less than P1 per kilo.
01:05Sometimes, we adjust the price.
01:07And so that it won't go to waste,
01:09I just give it to the vendors.
