Ryan Reynolds has some seriously interesting opinions about the scariest movie villain. For one thing, it's not a character at all -- it's a concept, and it's one you can find in just about every movie ever made.

00:00Which terrifying monster rears its ugly head in every film ever made? Deadpool and Wolverine
00:05star Ryan Reynolds seems to think that expectation is a more impressive movie villain than Thanos
00:09or Cassandra Nova could ever be, and one of his best friends is living proof.
00:14While it's impressive that Ryan Reynolds led the charge of making Deadpool and Wolverine
00:17the most successful R-rated movie ever made, the man behind Marvel's Merc with a Mouth
00:21has acknowledged that it's impossible to please everybody. That goes for the audience, sure,
00:26and it might even include one of your closest friends, like the guy you co-own a soccer
00:29team with.
00:31Despite making his way to a London set to film a scene for the record-breaking comedy,
00:35Rob McElhenney did not end up in the final cut of Deadpool and Wolverine. The creator
00:39and star of the hit TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, McElhenney is also Reynolds'
00:43Rexxum FC co-owner and friend.
00:45"...two Hollywood movie stars. Uh, I'm more of a TV star."
00:52Given the pair's well-documented bromance, many Marvel fans predicted that McElhenney
00:56would make an appearance in the movie, and McElhenney himself was one of them. He recorded
01:00a cameo as an agent to the Time Variance Authority that never actually saw the light of day.
01:05Reynolds acknowledged this in a post on Instagram, writing,
01:07"...I loved making this movie, but it wasn't without stress. There was a lot of expectation,
01:11and I'm pretty sure the most well-written villain in cinema history is expectation.
01:15And when you do stressful stuff, it feels good when friends are nearby."
01:18And even though I'm mortified he flew all the way to London for a cameo that wasn't
01:21meant to be, I'm grateful my friend was there with me. Of course, Reynolds couldn't keep
01:25up the serious tone for long. He continued,
01:28"...Rob shows up for people, and he showed up for me."
01:30Even as he begged for his life before Alioth snatched his unsuspecting body into the air,
01:35swallowing him whole, eventually digesting and converting him into a lion poo. Rest in
01:39peace, TVA soldier.
01:41Even though Deadpool and Wolverine ultimately didn't have the space for McElhenney as a
01:46Reynolds made a public suggestion to Marvel Studios, endorsing his buddy's casting as
01:49another Marvel character. He closed his post by writing,
01:52"...P.S. Rob would make an awesome HYDRA Bob."
01:55For those unfamiliar with the comics, Bob Dubalina debuted in Cable & Deadpool number
01:5938 in 2007. He started out as just an average guy who joined the evil organization HYDRA
02:05after his wife got mad at him for being unable to hold a steady job. Eventually, Bob's time
02:09as a substandard henchman led him to cross paths with Deadpool, and he soon became somewhat
02:13of a sidekick to Wade Wilson. It's a partnership that usually goes about as smoothly as you'd
02:18expect. Which is to say, not smoothly at all. It's hard to keep up with an unkillable mercenary
02:23when you don't have any powers yourself.
02:26McElhenney wouldn't be the first person to play the role of Bob. The character already
02:29made an appearance in the first Deadpool movie from 2016, as one of Ajax's henchmen.
02:34"...Bob?"
02:35"...Wade?"
02:36"...Oh my God, I haven't seen you since..."
02:39"...Jacksonville."
02:40"...TGI Fridays."
02:41Played by Rob Hader, Bob only stuck around for a few seconds before being knocked out,
02:45so it's easy to forget about his brief appearance. Of course, now that Deadpool and his reality's
02:49timeline have officially found their way into the MCU, there's no reason that the anti-hero's
02:53future adventures couldn't bring a new Bob into the fold. One played by McElhenney. Hopefully
02:57with a comic-accurate green-and-yellow mask. It's the least that Reynolds could do to apologize
03:02to his friend for feeding him to an interdimensional smoke monster and taking him out of the movie.
