A Newtownabbey-based entrepreneur has launched a new skincare and aesthetics business after receiving assistance through Go Succeed.

Chris Flanagan, with a background in biomedical science, established The Aesthetics Guy NI, an aesthetic clinic focused on facial and skin rejuvenating treatments such as advanced microneedling, chemical skin peels, natural lip augmentation, dermal fillers, and skin boosters for both the face and under-eye area, following his struggles with skin conditions during his teenage years.

He was able to bring his business idea to life through Go Succeed’s Start programme and continues to thrive through its Growth programme.

Chris’ love for skincare is a personal one, having suffered with stubborn acne which “wreaked havoc” not only his skin, but his mental health.

Fast forward to his thirties and Chris started his battle with rosacea which he cleared with “game changing” cosmeceutical skincare which he offers now at his clinic with the goal of helping others going through similar problems.

Now with a mission to help others, Chris turned to Go Succeed to make his plans a reality.

00:00Hi, my name is Chris. I am the owner of The Aesthetics Guy and I am based in Dubnaby.
00:15So my business is based around skincare and aesthetics. I carry out treatments such as
00:19microneedling, chemical skin peels, and aesthetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections,
00:25skin boosters, and anything to do with skin health.
00:28So I started my business by contacting the local council and asking any advice on opening
00:34a new business and that's when they put me in touch with the Go Succeed team. They were
00:38very helpful actually and advised me to start on their Start Programme for new businesses.
00:44From there I worked with a mentor, Louise, who was amazing. Once that programme was finished
00:50we went on to the Grow Programme. For me it really helped with my online presence actually,
00:56teaching me the importance of social media and giving me more confidence to do things
00:59on social media. My mentor, Louise, was incredibly helpful by creating timelines throughout the
01:06year of what you should be posting, when you should be posting it.
01:09Marketing and business plan were a big help through the Go Succeed Programme. It just
01:13made everything so much easier in terms of having someone there to talk to you about
01:15it and you kind of understood what your goals were going to be for the future and what you
01:19were at now. I think if you're starting out in business or you already have an established
01:23business and you want it to grow, it's definitely been really beneficial.
