00:00What's going on everybody? This is Hacker Glenn here

00:03And we are going to be talking about how hackers hack people using social engineering. Let's get into this

00:10Social engineering is the art of deception. We're pretty much calling you pretending like we're somebody else

00:16But in reality, we're a hacker. This could be called a pretend like I'm your boss. I'm your mother. I'm your father

00:23Anybody or I can send you an email an email that's saying that hey, I'm in your system

00:29I hacked you and you have 48 hours to send money to a Bitcoin account

00:33If you don't do that, I'm pretty much going to fuck up your computer. So you're gonna get scared and do it

00:39I really don't have a virus in there because I wouldn't have told you you got scared. That's social engineering

00:47I am manipulating you to do what I want now

00:51With pretending to be someone else I can gain information like your password

00:56I can gain information of another person's email where I could try to hack them another person's phone number if I call an

01:02Organization I can get up to the vice president and then hack their computer when I hack their computer

01:07I get their privileges. I can get into any type of program and steal more information

01:12And only thing that happened was I was talking to you

01:16So let me give a more in-depth look at a social engineering attack

01:20This right here is a classic example of a social engineering email

01:25So this is phishing social engineering and phishing go hand to hand

01:30This email is saying that unusual signing activity has happened on someone's account

01:35You click that link you go to log in or to change your password and then it'll redirect you to another

01:43Page and the page will look fine

01:46Reality, that was a trick. Here's another example

01:50Amazon sent me an email right and you can see there's some telltale signs like dear client. They're gonna address your name

01:57They're not gonna call you client

01:59Social engineering is the art of deception tricking people these two examples show one

02:04They were tricking you with Amazon. The other one was Microsoft. We can grab an email and make it look

02:12Exactly like it's supposed to like how the company would have it. We can trick it out

02:17We really can it's not hard and it really doesn't take that much effort to copy an email and send it to you

02:24Now this stuff looks convincing doesn't it? That is the art of hacking

02:29We can convince people that we are someone that we really aren't because we're hackers. Here's the thing though

02:35Social engineering the biggest power of it is the fact that it uses people people are the most

02:43Basic thing to hack you want to know why because as hackers social engineers

02:48We understand empathy meaning that you had a long day your daughter probably got expelled from school

02:54Your wife is probably cheating on you. You probably found out the baby isn't yours

02:58You probably just had a baby and you're exhausted from sleep these real-world factors from everyday life

03:05Contribute to our plan to steal from you because you're gonna be exhausted. You're not gonna be on guard

03:10We're gonna be able to catch you slipping and lacking so anybody can get hacked

03:14Guess what?

03:15You watching this video now you can get hacked and there's nothing you can do because at the end of the day

03:20You're not gonna be fully prepared to defend yourself against a social engineering attack

03:25You're never going to what you're going to do is worry about everything else in life

03:29Until you get hacked and you're gonna wonder what happened. Somebody called and tricked you

03:34They can see you a text message and say hey your Amazon package was stolen

03:38You're gonna click on that fill out your information. You send it back to me. Now. I got your information

03:43I'll log into your account store your credit card information and now I'm selling it on the dark web hack the planet
