00:00Anthony, I spoke to you about an interestingly, you know, I expect our professors at all times, about your master's actions, I want to say, any questions? Let's go to work.
00:2383% of you think it's gonna be Anthony Joshua tonight.
00:28Well, ladies and gentlemen, neither fighter has ever looked better.
00:33No crowd here has ever been bigger.
00:36Which one of these two lions will leave Wembley with three lions on their chest at the face of English boxing?
00:44AJ versus DuBois, here we go!
00:48Oh!
00:54Daniel DuBois straight on the front foot, working behind a solid jab.
01:02Ten real punches now from DuBois to take the center of the ring.
01:07Yeah, it means business.
01:10Oh!
01:11Good right hand from DuBois, he's coming right after AJ.
01:18So much for nerds, DuBois fighting like a seasoned veteran.
01:23Well, AJ's backing up and giving him the opportunity to land that right hand.
01:26He's giving him forward momentum.
01:30That's a good shot from Joshua, but a lovely jab there from Daniel DuBois.
01:36The moment does not appear too big for Triple D.
01:40Now he's grabbed this fight by the scruff of the neck.
01:42He needs to watch the right hand of Anthony Joshua coming over the jab though.
01:49Just needs his hands a little higher there, Anthony Joshua.
01:51The bunt done by his chest for DuBois.
01:53As he comes forward, he got a free shot at the chin.
01:55Yeah, chin's a little high as well.
02:05That's good from DuBois, just tucking his chin in.
02:11Marcus McDowell, the referee, warning DuBois about landing with the head.
02:15But what a positive start so far from DuBois.
02:19What we've been saying all week, if he can take the play away from AJ,
02:21he's got a really good foothold in the fight.
02:23That's what he's doing so far.
02:26Yeah, Joshua trying to get in the rhythm with his own jab.
02:30He got a feint, Joshua feint to make DuBois through that jab.
02:33Yeah.
02:34He came back with that right hand.
02:36Both men weighing in at about 250 pounds.
02:40And DuBois at his heaviest ever.
02:42But he's looking so, so sharp.
02:44Looking as though he's born to this occasion.
02:46After those setbacks in his career.
02:48Just a sign though, that Joshua's looking for that right hand over the top
02:52that Darren was talking about.
02:55That's a better jab from DuBois.
02:56It has to be sharp.
02:58Can't offer anything against Anthony Joshua.
03:02There's a real bone through stuff as well, isn't there, DuBois?
03:04Even though he's heavy with his hands, he's got a lot of power.
03:07Even though he's heavy with his hands, he's relatively light on his feet.
03:15Two warnings already for the head for DuBois.
03:19Maybe a little harsh.
03:25Just pushing with that jab there, Joshua.
03:27Not really fighting off forcefully.
03:29Sharp.
03:30Good for confirmation.
03:33Yeah, as he was asking for.
03:34Barry's starting to feint a little bit more now.
03:36Anthony Joshua.
03:37And a one for the head.
03:38There you go.
03:39Oh!
03:40Right hand!
03:41And a two!
03:44Huge right hand.
03:50Look at DuBois creeping forward.
03:52The legs are unsteady.
03:53And he makes it to the end of the round.
03:55They can't even hear the bell.
03:57It is chaos in Wembley.
04:02Incredible start.
04:03Incredible start for Daniel DuBois.
04:05Huge overhand right to drop the favorite here, Anthony Joshua.
04:11Wow.
04:12Joshua, through his own head, may get a miss.
04:14And DuBois came back with the same shot.
04:16And it leaves him flush.
04:18Look, if Joshua misses, then DuBois comes back with a similar shot.
04:21But gets it right on the tag.
04:22That's a beautiful shot.
04:25And I thought Joshua was unsteady on his legs.
04:27He did well to get up.
04:29Oh, look at that.
04:30That's a fight ender right there.
04:31Look at Joshua stepping back with his hands down.
04:33Is that because he was hurt so early in the round?
04:36And was still getting himself back together?
04:38Remember after Ruiz, Anthony Joshua,
04:41he said he doesn't remember anything that happened after that.
04:44You wonder if AJ is still all there.
04:49Round 2!
04:56And it's going as well as it can go for Daniel DuBois.
05:00We're in Round 2.
05:01AJ, it's desperation time.
05:06Doing the right thing here, DuBois.
05:07He's just keeping the pressure on.
05:10Joshua's got to give him something to think about here.
05:12Caught him again.
05:15He's lighting him up.
05:18Caught him again.
05:21This is incredible stuff.
05:24Daniel DuBois fighting like a prime Mike Tyson right now.
05:28And he's not taking his foot off the gas.
05:30He is all around Joshua like a rash.
05:34How did he stay up from those?
05:35And now Anthony's holding on.
05:38Who would have thought?
05:41This is a man possessed.
05:44But look at, look at his hands out, Joshua.
05:46He's inviting trouble here.
05:49DuBois has got to keep that right angle.
05:54He's looking for Joshua to make a mistake here.
05:58AJ is damaged good.
06:01The belief, the confidence that Daniel DuBois has got from his last two contests is remarkable.
06:09DuBois may not want to let this moment pass him by.
06:12And he's got him again in trouble.
06:18And we're not yet at the halfway point of the second round.
06:24And all these shots empty your tank.
06:26Let's not forget that.
06:27For the big guy, so early in the fight, that's a real problem.
06:32The jab just can't miss for DuBois.
06:37And he's the bully in the clinches as well.
06:40Hitting around the back of the head, the side of the head.
06:43Looks so strong.
06:46He's a double jab, DuBois.
06:48Pushing back with the two jabs.
06:49Hit him in the right hand.
06:53That's good from JJ.
06:55Needs to step in with a stiff one too.
07:00So you don't want to see him trying to slow the pace down.
07:02You want to see him pick the pace up, AJ.
07:04No, I think he needs to try and put a dent in the bra.
07:07Stop this wrecking ball coming forward.
07:14That's a nice fast jab.
07:16The hands are still too low though for Joshua.
07:19It's DuBois who's fainting.
07:20A good left hook.
07:30Oh!
07:31Right hand from Anthony.
07:33But it bumps off DuBois.
07:36Just bumps off him.
07:37We saw him, a right hand sealed door from Hergovich.
07:40And kept coming forward in his last fight.
07:42This is where he needs to be in the ring, Tom.
07:45This is where he needs to be in the ring, Tom.
07:47Hold the centre of the ring.
07:51That's a lovely jab there from DuBois.
07:53Lovely jab.
08:02He's going after your face, yeah?
08:04So your face switched on to that.
08:07When he's bouncing, be confident in bringing your feet.
08:10If DuBois has got a land,
08:11then his face is right hand behind him, yeah?
08:14Done one there, landed nice.
08:15Next time you get the opportunity, bring it up.
08:18Yeah.
08:20When you're stepping there,
08:21there's a spell there, you're just getting hit.
08:22Because you're stepping around the ring, not being threatening.
08:24You're just stepping around the ring.
08:27Look at this on DuBois again.
08:30Every shot, powerful.
08:31Older than the Joshuas there from some of these.
08:34Yeah, he done well.
08:35There was quite a few around the back of the head.
08:37What a beautiful jab.
08:38Ramrod's jab.
08:40Done well to avoid the left hook.
08:43It's from the first round,
08:44he took the initiative straight away,
08:45put Anthony Joshua in reverse, in retreat.
08:48And ever since then, he's dominated.
08:51And when Ergovich hit him with right hands like that,
08:53everybody said he won't be able to absorb those from Joshua.
08:57But he did in that round.
08:59This is turning into one of those,
09:01where were you when this fight happened?
09:05An unbelievable performance from DuBois.
09:08It's got AJ rattled again.
09:10It just looks so dangerous when he lets his hands go.
09:13But again, Joshua brings the jab back to his chest.
09:16And DuBois pays him for making that mistake,
09:18with that right hand.
09:25Oh, good jab.
09:26He's coming back too long.
09:29Yeah, needs a bit more variation with the shot,
09:31raw head and body.
09:32That'll help him fight in his own right hand.
09:35Come on, come on, come on.
10:06He can't forget to go low.
10:19DuBois fighting like he is the champion.
10:21And we do forget, he is indeed the IBF heavyweight champion.
10:26Joshua is the challenger.
10:35He needs to find that composure, Joshua.
10:39That's how you do it as well,
10:40get the nice ribbon behind the jab.
10:42That was a lovely shot.
10:44We just have a feeling DuBois is setting him up for something.
10:57Been a bit quiet in this round, DuBois.
11:06Still creeping forward, DuBois.
11:10Good body shot.
11:11Yeah, it was.
11:12Changing the level as well with the shots, DuBois.
11:16And if you're not familiar with DuBois,
11:18he has an amazing gas take.
11:20He never slowed down against Hrgovic,
11:22the Croatian who just faded away late.
11:30He's just waiting for Joshua to make a mistake here.
11:33He's just waiting for Joshua to make a mistake here.
11:40Needs to step in with a big...
11:43The legs are gone again!
11:46And he's down!
11:48His gloves touched the ground!
11:50The referee didn't do anything about it!
11:52He's down again!
11:54Don't call that a knockdown!
12:03Is he going to let it continue?
12:05I think so.
12:09They will!
12:10Three rounds down!
12:12And Joshua's been down twice!
12:14These are remarkable scenes.
12:16Incredible stuff.
12:17In front of a referee breaking ground.
12:20He does not know what has hit him.
12:22He took an uppercut there when he was sat on the rope.
12:24He didn't see it coming.
12:25And that might have a residual effect in this next round.
12:28Mike, how did the referee not call it a knockdown
12:30when AJ touched the floor right there?
12:32Yeah, I think that will be recognized as a mistake.
12:36No question about that.
12:38But whatever the referee's influence here,
12:42there's no question that Anthony Joshua has got a mountain to climb here.
12:47Do you know what's smart there?
12:48He's just rolled under the right hand and come back with his own shot.
12:51Smart boxing from Dubois.
12:55Eddie Hearn looks like he's just seen a ghost.
13:00Good shot from Dubois, straight away with the jab.
13:02This could be it!
13:03One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
13:09Yeah, I did think that was a slip, Todd, on the canvas there.
13:16AJ has the look of resignation in his eyes.
13:21I think he senses he's done again.
13:24They've called it off!
13:25It is over!
13:27They've stopped the fight!
13:28No, wait, wait!
13:29It's no knockdown!
13:30No, they're saying it's no knockdown!
13:32No knockdown!
13:35Dubois is boxing out of his skin here!
13:39This is phenomenal.
13:42The fight of his life.
13:44A lot of people thought maybe Dubois would hang close, maybe beat Joshua,
13:48but nothing like this!
13:50The performance of a lifetime!
13:54I can't see how Joshua can pull this back.
13:56You just cannot see it.
14:00He's just smothering his work here.
14:02He's doing the right thing, Joshua.
14:04He needs to allow space to Dubois.
14:06Dubois looks tired, but he still looks physically strong.
14:13The legs don't look good of Joshua.
14:20That was low.
14:21That was low.
14:29You know, Daniel Dubois is unleashing a lot of artillery, guys!
14:35Oh, AJ trying to hold on again!
14:38Let go, Daniel! Let go!
14:43Everything Dubois throws affects AJ!
14:52AJ getting beaten pillar to post by this 27-year-old!
14:58Nobody got touched to the body there from Dubois!
15:00Man possessed!
15:02Oh, shut!
15:10AJ still has the right hand, guys!
15:12He still has that equalizer!
15:15Yeah, and it's a fight, fight, fight!
15:18Stop Dubois in his tracks!
15:19Try and walk him onto a right hand, looking for the right uppercut!
15:31Joshua's holding Dubois!
15:35AJ trying to tow Dubois!
15:40Lovely jab from Dubois!
15:42Joshua, sorry, took advantage of Dubois!
15:44Took advantage of Dubois!
15:47He looks so focused though, still, Dubois!
15:49Just looking, waiting for Joshua to make another mistake so he can throw that right tag over the top!
15:55This is where Dubois might be wise to just go downstairs!
15:58Yeah!
16:15Hey, don't touch that!
16:20Don't go like that!
16:22Listen, you need to put your energy up, right?
16:25Don't bring him back into the fight!
16:27Don't let him, yeah?
16:28Don't touch him!
16:32A man possessed, I've said it!
16:34The jab on point!
16:36The legs for a big portion of that round looked unsteady from Joshua!
16:41That was the slip, it's the canvas!
16:43You see Joshua complain when he got to his feet!
16:48Long left hook!
16:50He can't get out of the way of any punches that Dubois throws!
16:53Every time Dubois commits to an attack, Joshua's there to be hit!
16:56Corner, 10 seconds!
16:59Big look out to survive though for Joshua that one!
17:02Seconds out, round 5!
17:05If you're looking for some hope for AJ, don't forget Klitschko put him down in this very stadium!
17:11And he looked done, but he came back to win that one!
17:15Could he somehow pull off another miracle at Wembley?
17:23And he can change the pattern of this fight!
17:25It'll be interesting to see how Dubois reacts and how he can cope with it!
17:30But so far looking so powerful and switched on!
17:35Awesome, awesome, awesome!
17:39AJ talking to people in the crowd now!
17:42Ah, lovely jab!
17:45And he buckled Dubois' knees!
17:49Watch it come back!
17:51Watch it come back!
17:552!
17:563!
17:57There's no way back from this, surely!
18:017!
18:028!
18:039!
18:0410!
18:0511!
18:0612!
18:0713!
18:0814!
18:0915!
18:1016!
18:1117!
18:1218!
18:1319!
18:1420!
18:1521!
18:1622!
18:1723!
18:1824!
18:1925!
18:2026!
18:2127!
18:2228!
18:2329!
18:2430!
18:2531!
18:2632!
18:2733!
18:2834!
18:2935!
18:3036!
18:3137!
18:32He shook the world!
18:34And just when you thought AJ was getting back into it, it was lights out at Wembley!
18:40Which even adds to the credibility of the performance from Daniel Dubois.
18:46So many said it will depend on who connects first.
18:50He did connect first, but continued to dominate with a performance way beyond his 27 years.
18:58Staggering from Daniel Dubois.
19:01He said AJ had the keys to the kingdom and I'm gonna take them.
19:06I'm out of the darkness now, I'm into the light.
19:09And Darren, the light has never shone brighter than it has right now on Dubois.
19:17And it's probably the brightest it will ever shine.
19:20That will be the moment of his life.
19:25To upset the favorite here, Anthony Joshua, in the fashion that he did to retain his world title.
19:33The IVF title that is given to him.
19:36Barry, wow.
19:38He outboxed him, he outthawed him, he outthawed him and he bullied him.
19:42That's a phenomenal performance.
19:44And tonight, now, he will feel like a champion.
19:47Forget interim and everything else.
19:49Tonight, he will feel like a genuine champion.
19:52And let's watch how it ended.
19:54Right when AJ...
19:56He's in trouble there, isn't he?
19:57Yeah, he had his moment, you thought.
19:58Oh, he's coming back.
19:59And then this.
20:02He takes the right hand there, then the second right hand is flush.
20:06See, there's not loads on that, but Joshua's coming on to it.
20:10And also, the effect of all the previous shots that he'd been taking.
20:14A slow beating, let's be truthful.
20:16They all have an effect, it all adds up on you.
20:18And that's a good shot, but that's not the heaviest shot he's taken tonight.
20:21And in that same corner, 10 years ago, here in this same ring,
20:26Carl Froch landed a peach of a right hand on George Groves.
20:29We've seen here tonight another of the great finishing shots in British boxing history.
20:35I gotta give my colleague back in the United States, Sergio Morris, some credit.
20:38He's the only guy that picks Dubois by knockout, to my knowledge.
20:42I asked him why, he goes, I just see something.
20:45The fact that he's come back from being so low, I think he can do it.
20:50And I think AJ's time is up, and there it is.
20:53The clock has struck midnight for Anthony Joshua.
20:57Let's be honest, he's the fighter in form, Dubois, he has been.
21:00But still, the occasion, the way Joshua's rebuilt,
21:03you just think everything pointed to Joshua being dominant.
21:07And Dubois may be falling back on that shot, but mentally he suffered.
21:10But he came out, he looked for the confidence in that ring walk.
21:13When the bell rang, when they were introducing him,
21:16he was looking around to try and get Joshua's attention.
21:18He wanted to fight before the world started.
21:20He was all business tonight. That was great.
21:23This is the continuation of a 20-year project.
21:26His dad in the corner tonight, Stan, or Dave as he's known,
21:30got in boxing at the age of 7, raised him as a single father,
21:34home schooled in almost cult-like conditions.
21:37But he was convinced, he said he had a vision
21:40that his son would be heavyweight champion of the world.
21:43And here he is tonight.
21:45And there's Tyson Fury in the ring, next up will be Dubois
21:48against the winner of the big one in December, no question about that.
21:51But bear in mind, he's 27 years of age.
21:55Fury Usyk will be gone in the not-too-distant future.
21:58He'll still be around.
22:00And speaking of the big one, Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua
22:03might go down as another big fight that never happened.
22:06But a big fight that will happen is taking place in Riyadh,
22:11October 12th, two of the pound-for-pound kings,
22:14Dmitry Bievol, Artur Berebeev,
22:17square off for the light heavyweight championship.
22:20Get ready, ladies and gentlemen.
22:22Here comes history.
22:24Michael Buffer with the announcement.
22:27Ladies and gentlemen, here at Wembley Stadium,
22:30this contest comes to an end,
22:33officially at 59 seconds, round number 5.
22:37The winner by knockout victory.
22:40And still IBF heavyweight champion of the world,
22:47triple D, Daniel Dynamite Dubois.
23:00Yes, you heard it right.
23:02Daniel Dubois knocked out Anthony Joshua
23:06in front of the largest crowd in the history of this famous stadium.
23:11Ade Oladipo is with the champ.
23:15Daniel, congratulations on the best performance of your career.
23:21Many had questioned whether or not you are a legit world champion, right?
23:25They'll question them about this IBF belt you have.
23:28I think you answered all those questions tonight.
23:31I've only got a few words to say, man.
23:35Are you not entertained?
23:38Are you not entertained?
23:43I know you're a man of few words.
23:46All week I've been letting you off for saying a few words,
23:48but I want you to say a lot more now,
23:50because this is an incredible moment.
23:52Your younger brother is here with you.
23:54Not many people predicted that.
23:57I think with what you've done in the last 12 months,
23:59Filip Herkovic, Jharrel Miller, now Anthony Joshua,
24:03you're 100% the fighter of the year. Congratulations.
24:05Thank you very much.
24:07It's been a long journey.
24:09I'm grateful to be in this position. God bless.
24:12It seemed to be a bit of a firefight towards the end there.
24:15AJ looked like he had you hurt.
24:17And then you landed that beautiful shot as well.
24:19Was it a case of, let's just have a fight?
24:21Forget a boxing match, let's just have a fight.
24:23No, I'm a gladiator.
24:25I'm just a warrior to the end, to the bigger end.
24:28I'm just ready to go.
24:29I want to go to the top level of this game
24:31and reach my full potential.
24:32God bless you all.
24:34What has been the big change, Daniel?
24:36Again, this has been an incredible 12 months for you.
24:39Obviously, you've got a new camp with Don Charles.
24:41But what's been the big change with you?
24:43This big turnaround in performances.
24:45Again, Herkovic, Jharrel Miller,
24:47now a former Unified Heavyweight Champion of the world,
24:49Anthony Joshua.
24:50What's been the turnaround?
24:52Just, you know, behind the scenes.
24:54The work with my dad.
24:56You know, all my family and my strong team here.
25:00They've helped me get through this.
25:02So, God bless you all, man.
25:04Do you prefer to be the underdog?
25:06You've been the underdog in your last three fights.
25:09Not many people in the 96,000 that were here
25:11picked you to win.
25:13Does that give you that drive
25:14because people are picking against you?
25:16Um, you know, I've just been on a rollercoaster ride
25:19and this is my time.
25:21That's my redemption story.
25:22And, you know, I'm not going to stop
25:24until I reach my full potential.
25:26Let me have a word of your promoter.
25:28No, don't go anywhere, Daniel.
25:29Frank, I mean, you've had some special nights.
25:31Frank is a promoter.
25:32Me and you spoke all week
25:33and I said, would this be your biggest night?
25:35Just because of the magnitude and who it was against.
25:38What's your answer now, Frank?
25:40Well, the magnitude of it was phenomenal
25:41when it was a phenomenal fight.
25:43And I've always felt it would be a Hagler-Holmes situation
25:46and that's what it was.
25:47Two guys give everything.
25:48It takes two people to make a fight like that.
25:51A great champion and AJ.
25:53AJ absolutely contributed,
25:55showed his heart right to the end.
25:57But it was just a brilliant, brilliant fight
25:59and obviously I'm pleased because my man's won
26:02and I've had faith in him from the beginning.
26:03I always felt he would do it and he's done it.
26:06So many have questioned Daniel's mental strength
26:09over the years, right?
26:10That fight against Joe Joyce,
26:11the fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
26:13He's shown so much mental fortitude
26:15in the last 12 months.
26:16You've backed him in that time as well.
26:19What's it been?
26:20Why the turnaround?
26:21It's not a turnaround.
26:23It was there.
26:24He was a young man.
26:25He had double fractures of his eye.
26:27He couldn't fight.
26:28That was it.
26:29He couldn't fight on against Joe Joyce.
26:30That's the end of it.
26:31And it was what it was.
26:33And he's come back from that.
26:34And Oleksandr Usyk was,
26:36he's considered to be at the moment
26:38the best heavyweight in the world.
26:40And he gave him at that time his toughest fight.
26:44There's no doubt about that.
26:45He hurt him.
26:46I'd like to see him fight him now.
26:48But obviously he's got to fight Tyson first
26:50and I think Tyson will take his scowl.
26:52But he's done brilliantly
26:54and at his age now,
26:56everybody here see a champion's performance tonight.
27:02Two great fighters in the ring
27:04and a champion's performance.
27:06And he's done everything that's been asked of him.
27:08Showed his courage, his skills, his resilience.
27:11AJ caught him with a shot over there.
27:14I've got to be honest,
27:16I was worried about that.
27:17And I'll tell you from my heart,
27:18I was worried about that.
27:20But he caught him with a counter
27:21and that's what it was.
27:22But what a fabulous, fantastic fight by both the guys.
27:26Final one for you, Frank.
27:27There's always a plan, right?
27:28There's always a what next question.
27:30I'm going to ask that next.
27:32If AJ won, there's a lot of talk about an undisputed.
27:34Now that your boy Daniel's won,
27:36what next for Daniel?
27:38Well, we're going to sit down and think about it.
27:39See the outcome of the fight on the 21st of December
27:42at a REACT season show.
27:44And then we'll make some decisions.
27:45But he'll want to be busy.
27:47He may want to be out of the game before Christmas.
27:49We'll see.
27:50But whatever happens,
27:51we'll keep him busy.
27:52He's a young man.
27:53And he's at the top of his game.
27:54And I think there's more to come, by the way.
27:56I shouldn't say he's at the top of his game.
27:58He's at the top of his game tonight.
27:59But I think he'll improve as a fighter
28:02on the strength of these last few results.
28:04Thank you very much, Frank.
28:06AJ, let's have a few words, Anthony.
28:13We knew that this was going to be a tough fight, right?
28:16Regardless of what the bookies said
28:18and what the casual boxing fans said.
28:20It was always going to be a tough fight for you, AJ.
28:22What went wrong there tonight?
28:24The opponent.
28:25But credit to him and his team.
28:28We rolled the dice at success.
28:30And we come up short.
28:31But I want to say, everyone in Wembley,
28:34I appreciate you coming out this evening.
28:36You know I'm pissed.
28:38You know I'm ready to kick off in the ring.
28:40But I'm going to keep my cool
28:41and keep very professional
28:42and give the respect to my opponent.
28:44We've seen you come back from defeats before, right?
28:47To win titles before.
28:48We've seen you rebuild before as well.
28:50I know it's a tough question to ask after that type of fight.
28:53But we are going to see another rebuild, aren't we, AJ?
28:56Yeah.
28:57You know what it is?
28:58Before I came here,
28:59I'm always saying to myself,
29:00I'm a fighter for life.
29:02We rolled the dice at success.
29:03And we came up short.
29:05And we roll it again.
29:06You know what I mean?
29:07We keep rolling the dice.
29:09Was it mistakes in there tonight?
29:11Or was Daniel Dubois just too sharp, too fast?
29:14If I'm honest, it was a bit of a mix.
29:16I had a sharp opponent, a fast opponent.
29:18And secondly, a lot of mistakes from my end.
29:21But that's the game.
29:23As pissed off as I am,
29:24it is what it is.
29:26It is what it is.
29:27As you say, you rolled the dice.
29:28Your numbers didn't come up today,
29:29but I'm sure they're going to come up in the future.
29:31Congratulations on a good performance.
29:33That was a firefight.
29:34Eddie, very quickly.
29:38Eddie, I know, obviously,
29:39very, very disappointed.
29:41It turned into a firefight, right?
29:42A lot of people said this could be a Hagler-Hearns type fight.
29:45And when you fight like that,
29:46you just never know.
29:47Both of them throwing heavy, heavy shots.
29:49And one of them was going to land.
29:51And unfortunately for your man,
29:52it was Daniel that landed more.
29:54Well, it was the first round.
29:56You know, it was a huge right hand
29:57that AJ shipped in the first round.
29:59And after that, he was fighting on heart and desire.
30:03I'm so proud of him because he never gave up.
30:05His legs were deceiving him.
30:08And he just kept on trying.
30:10And at the end of the fourth round,
30:11he hurt Daniel Dubois.
30:12And in the fifth round,
30:13he really hurt Daniel Dubois.
30:15And then he got greedy
30:16and walked straight onto a right hand.
30:18And that's all she wrote.
30:19You know, when you're in there with a massive puncher,
30:21this is what can happen.
30:22But, you know, AJ never gave up.
30:24He never stopped trying to get up,
30:25even when he couldn't get up.
30:27And I think a massive, massive congratulations
30:29to Daniel Dubois because people doubted him.
30:32And, you know, he was the champion,
30:33but really the B-side coming into the fight.
30:36And he deserves credit now as a real world champion
30:38because that was a great performance.
30:40And if we're going to lose,
30:41losing to a British heavyweight
30:42makes it feel better.
30:43So congratulations for him.
30:44But very proud of Anthony Joshua
30:46who just never gave up.
30:47And the final one,
30:48I know it's been a long night.
30:49I asked AJ about the rebuild.
30:51He says, look,
30:52and he seemed very confident that he will be back.
30:54You've always been part of that rebuild as well.
30:56You know how difficult it is.
30:58We are going to see AJ again in the ring, aren't we?
31:00Yeah, I'm sure he'll exercise that rematch clause.
31:02I mean, I think that's a given.
31:04But he'll need a rest.
31:06And it's a dangerous fight.
31:07This guy's growing in confidence all the time.
31:09But he'll believe he can hurt Dubois.
31:11He'll believe he can beat him.
31:13But full credit to Daniel Dubois.
31:14He deserves all the credit tonight.
31:16It was a great performance from Daniel.
31:18Daniel, final one from you, the champion.
31:21If you can name one name, Daniel,
31:23as to who you would want to fight next.
31:25Eddie said potentially a rematch.
31:27Who would you want to fight next?
31:28One name.
31:30You know, who the best.
31:31Maybe Utig.
31:32A big shot out of my redemption.
31:35So anyone.
31:37Anyone can get it.
31:38God bless you all.
31:40God bless you as well.
31:41Congratulations, Daniel.
31:42Fantastic performance.
31:43Well done.
31:46Just think.
31:47A little over a year ago,
31:49that man was labeled a quitter.
31:51We thought he'd be cast aside to the scrap heap of world title challengers
31:55that just kind of faded away.
31:57But oh, how times have changed.
31:59And he just beat Anthony Joshua
32:01in front of the biggest crowd in Wembley history.
32:03Yeah, a phenomenal performance.
32:06A phenomenal rebuild
32:08from where he was after the Joyce loss,
32:11after the Usyk loss.
32:13You know, many, including myself,
32:16really fought and struggled to come back from that.
32:19But boy, was we wrong.
32:23I mean, he just grabbed this fight by the scruff of the neck
32:28and went straight at Joshua Barry.
32:32But he took the center of the ring.
32:33We always said about the jab was so important.
32:35They both had to get the jab off first
32:37to make the other one reset, take him out of his rhythm.
32:39And he did that, pushed Joshua back with the jab.
32:41And then when you push him back with the jab
32:43and you step in like Dubois does,
32:45it means when you throw the right hand,
32:47you hit him right on the target, right through the chin.
32:49And that's what he did.
32:50And to be fair to Joshua,
32:52he had no right getting up from some of those shots.
32:54They were fight finishers.
32:55But he got up, tried to regroup,
32:57but his tactics weren't great.
32:59He was backing up all the time,
33:00his hands were low and he was moving back.
33:02And every time he looked to mount an attack,
33:04Dubois met him first.
33:07Wow.
33:09I don't know if I've ever seen a fight quite like that one.
33:12I can't even remember.
33:13It was so action-packed,
33:14I can't even really remember what happened.
33:16There was so many moments.
33:17So much drama.
33:18And also a shock,
33:19because even though you wouldn't be super shocked
33:21that Dubois knocked Joshua out,
33:23the way he dominated from start to finish,
33:25let's be honest,
33:26except for that little blip where Joshua caught him
33:28before he got stopped.
33:29Dubois was winning everything all the time.
33:32Joshua was landing some jabs where they were light and fast.
33:34Dubois, all the quality work came from Daniel Dubois,
33:37and that's just a fact.
33:38Well, let's end Knockout of the Year contenders now.
33:42It's done. That's finished.
33:43That is the Knockout of the Year right there.
33:45Finished. Done.
33:47And you can't blame Joshua.
33:48He had to go for it.
33:49He's a mile behind.
33:51He'd been hurt.
33:52He was unsteady on his legs,
33:53still not fully recovered,
33:55and he went for it.
33:56And he just got caught.
33:57And he had to do that.
33:58Mike, sometimes we get caught up in the moment,
34:00a prisoner of the moment.
34:01Put this into perspective.
34:02What will we be saying tomorrow about this fight?
34:05This is so, so special.
34:06Because of the crowd,
34:07because of all of the buildup,
34:08because of what Daniel Dubois had to go through
34:11in terms of the doubts cast all around him
34:14in the last three years
34:15because of what happened against Joe Joyce
34:18and then more recently against Oleksandr Usyk.
34:21But he has produced the performance of his career.
34:24And when anybody talks about a knockout of the year,
34:29And when anybody talks about
34:31the night at Wembley Stadium
34:33when it was the biggest crowd in British boxing history,
34:36very, very soon everybody will be saying,
34:39yes, and that was the night that Daniel Dubois
34:42truly, truly came of age.
34:46Here's your jabber stats, Mike,
34:48which is a new technology that DAZN has incorporated
34:51for this main event.
34:52And so we can see here
34:55that Daniel Dubois threw more, landed more,
34:58and key, high impact shots.
35:02You know, in the past we've had punches divided
35:04between power punches and jabs,
35:07but here we've got whatever type of shot he's thrown,
35:09the high impact, measuring the actual impact of the shot.
35:14And again, it's in the favor of Daniel Dubois,
35:18not quite twice as much as Anthony Joshua,
35:21but significantly in his favor.
35:23But if you look at the accuracy,
35:25the last of those factors there at the bottom,
35:28it's pretty level.
35:31Let's send it to Thomas Treiber for a special presentation.

40:09Wow, what an evening.
40:10Wembley Stadium housed 96,000 fans tonight
40:13who turned out for the all-British title fight
40:15between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
40:17The sellout crowd was the fifth largest audience
40:20to ever watch a boxing event
40:22and the biggest crowd ever at a fight in the UK.
40:25And what a fight they were treated to.
40:26A very warm welcome to everybody too.
40:28Be on the bell.
40:29My name's Kate Scott.
40:30I'm with Joe Parker, Tony Bellew.
40:33Daniel Dubois, the man of the moment right now.
40:36Took him five rounds to dispatch Anthony Joshua.
40:39Anthony Joshua down in the first, second, third and fifth.
40:42Goodness me.
40:44Daniel Dubois had...
