00:00The key to unlocking your mind comes from five important tips that are actionable, easy,
00:08yet life-changing.
00:10To unlock your mind means to no longer be a slave to your thoughts, to gain control
00:16of your mind and set it on a track to drive you towards your desired future self.
00:22All of us have had moments where our mind was holding us back, sending us thoughts that
00:28kept us from progressing, feeling overwhelmed and wanting to shut down.
00:34Unlocking the mind is a critical step on your journey to feel real good, which is what this
00:40channel is all about.
00:43Here's the breakdown of the five things we're going to dive into.
00:48Number one, change your perception.
00:52Number two, feed your mind.
00:55Number three, feed your body.
00:58Number four, let go of full control.
01:02Number five, customize for you.
01:06Let's dive in, shall we?
01:09So number one, change your perception.
01:14Your mind is generating thoughts all the time, sometimes more than others, but it is a thought
01:22generating machine.
01:24Now let's paint a picture to help land this perspective.
01:28Imagine that you are standing in the middle of a highway and the thoughts that your mind
01:33is throwing at you are cars on that highway speeding past you as you stand there balancing
01:41amidst the chaos.
01:43Now let's reposition yourself.
01:47Don't stand in the middle of the highway, silly.
01:50That's never a good idea.
01:52Let's take you and sit you on a mound under a tree with shade next to the highway at a
02:00reasonable distance.
02:02Now the cars are still driving by, but you're watching from afar.
02:08You're saying, oh, look at that thought and look at that thought.
02:12That's interesting.
02:13Oh, that thought right there looks like a good one.
02:18You become an audience member observing what your mind is generating and you are providing
02:24yourself the vantage to be more objective and to separate yourself from what your thoughts
02:30may be.
02:32This way you can have the breathing room to not be a victim of an onslaught, but to be
02:38in control.
02:40You can choose the thoughts you want to pay attention to and make yours.
02:45The thoughts you decide to associate with have a massive impact to how you live your
02:50life, which brings us to the next tip.
02:56Number two, feed your mind.
03:01Did you know that your mind loves to eat?
03:04Oh yeah.
03:06It is a voracious eater, never gets full and it eats thoughts.
03:12It eats words that your ears hear.
03:15Or those that your eyes read.
03:17It eats what it is fed and you can and should choose what it gets to eat.
03:26If you focus on thoughts that are negative, sad, depressing, restricting, then your mind
03:33will hold onto those things and will bring them into your life.
03:38On the other hand, if you focus on the thoughts that are positive, growth oriented, confident,
03:45appreciative, empathetic, compassionate, then your mind will work to materialize those things.
03:54Your mind is programmed from every thought and every word that you have it focus on.
04:01And as the psychologist, economist and author Daniel Kahneman wrote about in his book, Thinking
04:07Fast and Slow, our more automatic, fast, responsive system one will internalize the
04:17thoughts and words and those will shape who we become.
04:21All you have to do is direct your mind with the right spoken words, written words and
04:27the right focus on the right thoughts.
04:31Give your mind the right items to focus on as if you were raising a child.
04:37Which books would you read your child?
04:39What words would you repeat to your child?
04:43What thoughts would you want your child to have more of?
04:46Think this way of your mind.
04:48Treat it like something you are nurturing and taking care of.
04:53The key to unlock the mind is within this point.
04:58And speaking of feeding, let's touch on the more literal meaning of that in the third point.
05:05Number three, feed your body.
05:10Feed your body what it needs.
05:12Give it exercise.
05:13Give it sunlight.
05:15Give it good care and your mind will benefit.
05:18Because guess what?
05:20Your brain slash mind is a part of your body.
05:24If you eat the wrong thing, neglect your body, expose it to the wrong chemicals, then your
05:30brain will suffer from those inputs and will produce discouraging circumstances such as
05:36sadness, anger, negativity, doubt, jealousy, etc.
05:43What food you decide to feed your body will directly influence your gut biome.
05:49And there has been plenty of research that showed connections between the gut microbiome
05:55and the health of the mind and quality of thoughts.
05:59I'm sure you've heard of the immense role that the gut microbiome has on your overall
06:04health and well-being, which we'll be getting deeper into in this channel for sure, so subscribe
06:10to stay tuned.
06:12And this is definitely true when it comes to your mind.
06:16Feed your body the right variety of nutrients and food products and your mind will blossom.
06:23Feed it alcohol, junk food, and overall unbalanced diet, then your mind will stay locked and
06:28will fade in quality slowly over time, then suddenly when you least expect it.
06:37And we'll keep it short on exercise, but it is a gift for your mind.
06:42It removes the byproducts of stress.
06:45It brings clarity and focus.
06:47It lifts the mind into a higher state.
06:52But no matter what we do, there are so many variables and inputs into the equation of
06:59the mind that we can't always have fantastic days.
07:03That's where tip number four comes in.
07:08Number four, let go of full control.
07:13Your mind will have its days on and off, up and down.
07:19The equation that determines the quality of your mind in a given day has an uncountable
07:25number of variables that it just isn't possible for us to be in full control all the time.
07:34Some inputs are purely out of our control, like the weather, atmospheric pressure, disturbances
07:41that interfere with our sleep, the news we hear in the morning, and on and on.
07:47So friends, please give yourself the flexibility to have an off day, to feel a bit down sometimes.
07:55It's okay.
07:57Everything is going to be great.
07:59You are still progressing on your feeling real good journey.
08:04If the day just seems to be a bit off, just take it easy.
08:08Don't force anything.
08:10Maybe take an Epsom salt bath versus traveling, or do some stretching versus a full fitness
08:16class.
08:17Order in something healthy versus cooking for the week.
08:22Give your mind the approval to have an off day every now and then.
08:26It's normal.
08:27It happens to everyone.
08:28Embrace it, and you will be able to move forward farther in the long term.
08:35If you expect to be 100% on all the time, you are setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment,
08:43and that could derail you off of your path, and we just cannot have that.
08:49So trust me, this is one of the most important tips to truly unlock your mind and get to
08:54a feeling real good situation.
08:59Let the tide pass.
09:00Let the waves subside.
09:03The world oscillates.
09:04All things oscillate.
09:06Your body and mind also oscillate.
09:10But aside from prescriptive guidance, you actually need to form your own unique playbook.
09:17And that comes from the last tip.
09:20Number five, build a custom plan for you.
09:26Observe what works and what doesn't.
09:30Learn a thing about what is best for your mind each day.
09:34Did you feel good?
09:36What contributed to that?
09:38Did you feel down?
09:40What contributed to that?
09:42What about your diet do you think worked well and did not work well?
09:48What types of exercise produced the best results?
09:52Just as we said that you should observe your thoughts from the side of the highway, you
09:56should take this approach with yourself in general.
10:00Become deeply in tune with how your mind is doing, how you're feeling in general.
10:06Become a whisperer of yourself.
10:09There are tons of signals that our mind is giving us and we have to become expert linguists
10:15at the language of our own mind.
10:18There are many methods that help us listen and reflect and form actions that help us
10:22improve.
10:24One very powerful one is to reflect through journaling.
10:28Having dedicated time to channel reflection through written words onto paper helps us
10:34organize what we've been able to observe through the day and establish incremental
10:39improvement actions.
10:43The body, the mind, and the soul all need to be unlocked.
10:49But unlocking the mind will be one of your most critical goals on this journey.
10:55Following these five tips should form the key that unlocks your mind in a sustainable
11:01way.
11:03So here's a summary.
11:05First we said to observe your mind from the side of the highway.
11:11Second we said to be selective with what thoughts and messages you feed your mind.
11:17Third we said to make sure you are feeding your body right since that impacts the health
11:23of your mind.
11:25Fourth we said to embrace the fluctuations of life and allow for the down days.
11:31And fifth we said to learn the unique language of yourself, listen closely for the signs,
11:37and develop your own unique plan that works best for you.
11:43And I'm sure that you all have some valuable tips to share as well, and if so, please leave
11:49a comment.
11:50Your comments also help inform video ideas, so let me know.
11:56Friends, this journey continues together, one that is the most worthwhile, and I promise
12:03you will find yourself not just feeling good, but feeling real good.
