Watch: Warrnambool under 18 premiership coach Damien Sell speaks after Hampden grand final
Transcript
00:00Congratulations Damien, back to back on the ice, how are you feeling?
00:03Pretty emotional to be honest. Relieved, probably the overriding emotion, big build up.
00:11You get to the final dance and it's overwhelming. Relief I think is the main emotion.
00:20There were some big moments particularly in that second half when you broke away, was there anything that stood out to you?
00:26No, I think it was just an arm wrestle. We knew it was going to be like that with the grand final.
00:31South are a really good side, so we just said we want to be tougher for longer.
00:37I think we just wore them down a little bit at the end.
00:39Our good players rose to the challenge here in that last quarter.
00:44I think that's all it was, we just stuck at it for a bit longer.
00:49Damien, back to back best of pro medal.
00:52Yeah, he was great, but I think we could have went to half a dozen blokes if we had a lot of really good players today.
01:01But he's a quality player, that's why he's been playing senior footy, so he's great to have back.
01:10Yeah, again another senior player, so I think we had ten senior players or thereabouts today over the course of the year.
01:16It's been a battle to get to the grand final because we had so many players playing seniors or rebels or injuries.
01:23I think the first final about three weeks ago we had ten out of our best side.
01:28So I think getting to the grand final was just a great achievement from the playing group.
01:34Yeah, it was pretty impressive wasn't it?
01:37And there was a few of the boys, Nate Brereton missed last year and he was great.
01:42No, it was a great reward for effort.
01:46Thank you very much, cheers.
