The video clearly shows Diddy, clad in a black trench coat, walking into the Park Hyatt New York hotel in midtown Manhattan with his crew of several men -- but the moment he enters the lobby, law enforcement pounces, stops the mogul and separates him from his friends.

00:00We have obtained video of Diddy's arrest on Monday night.
00:05And I have to say, he was blindsided,
00:09completely surprised as he walked into the Park Hyatt
00:12Hotel in Midtown Manhattan with a whole entourage.
00:16That's him in the black trench coat.
00:17And the two guys in the white shirt.
00:18They are feds.
00:20And they very politely escort him.
00:22Mr. Combs, please come this way, I'm imagining,
00:25was how the conversation went.
00:27And you can see them walking him through the hotel
00:29to an elevator.
00:32He's already cuffed.
00:33Already cuffed at this point.
00:34So that means they cuffed him pretty quickly after the lobby.
00:39We know they went up to the room.
00:42And they actually raided the room and searched the room.
00:45There were things that they obtained there.
00:46And then they walk him out.
00:47And interestingly, this is in Manhattan, Midtown Manhattan.
00:51And you see people walking back and forth.
00:52People walking back and forth.
00:54They did a perp walk.
00:55I mean, essentially, they walked Diddy in handcuffs
00:59right out the front of this hotel.
01:01It's really shocking, because nobody
01:03got video from the street.
01:05And it's Diddy, and he's in cuffs.
01:07Remember, much like nobody knew that this was going to happen,
01:10Diddy didn't know it was going to happen.
01:12That was very evident in this video.
01:15And we told you before that the plan was always
01:20for him to be in New York, to turn himself in,
01:23voluntarily surrender, Tuesday.
01:26And for whatever reason, the feds changed their mind
01:29and went after him Monday night.
01:31So the full context here of him walking into the hotel,
01:34you see the whole group that's with him.
01:36We had seen video and photos of him moments before this,
01:40walking around New York City, stopping, talking to fans,
01:44taking photos and selfies with people.
01:46So he's carefree at that moment, because he was out less
01:50than an hour before he got arrested.
01:51His understanding was that he was
01:55going to turn himself in on Tuesday.
01:57So he's having a carefree evening,
02:00walks into the hotel with his friends and his entourage.
02:02He's got to be totally shocked, blindsided.
02:05What's interesting here is, as you said,
02:07he was planning to surrender anyway.
02:09So what information caused it to be moved up,
02:13the timeline to be moved up?
02:14There was ecstasy found in his room.
02:16And there's maybe a thought that he was planning one last,
02:19this case revolves around freak-offs.
02:21Maybe there was one last freak-off.
02:22No, we're going to get into that.
02:23But no, because they didn't know what was in his room,
02:26because they weren't there.
02:27And even if he did have drugs there,
02:29it doesn't affect whether he voluntarily surrenders or not.
02:33So two things, one is that his lawyer believes
02:37the reason they did this and accelerated it
02:39was because if he voluntarily surrendered,
02:42it would hurt their case to make for no bail,
02:45because he wouldn't be as much of a flight risk.
02:49Here's what I'm wondering about
02:51that I don't quite understand.
02:54They searched his room.
02:55Typically, you need a search warrant.
02:58Did they get a search warrant in advance,
03:01or did they just walk in the room
03:03and happen to see the ecstasy?
03:05And why did they take him up to the room in the first place?
03:08Well, that's what I can't figure out.
03:09The first agent, watch, as he walks into the lobby,
03:12the first agent who pops out has a clipboard in his hand.
03:16To me, that means he's-
03:17A search warrant?
03:18It's either a search warrant or-
03:21Or what?
03:22Or he's taking it up to the room to take inventory
03:25of what they're gonna search his room.
03:25You can't do that.
03:26You cannot do that without a search warrant.
03:28So what I-
03:29No, no, I agree with you that it seems
03:30that they had a search warrant,
03:31or could it be the arrest warrant that they're showing?
03:33But even if it's an arrest warrant,
03:35it doesn't give you the right to search the hotel room.
03:38So I'm really puzzled by this,
03:40because unless there were drugs in plain view,
03:44they would have to get a warrant.
03:46So why would a judge issue a warrant
03:48when he was gonna voluntarily surrender?
03:51And that's what doesn't make sense to me.
03:53I don't get it.
03:54It's interesting.
03:54Maybe they had some actionable information,
03:56that what is on that clipboard.
03:57Maybe it is a search warrant.
03:59Maybe they knew something was going to go down that evening
04:02and they had to take action immediately.
04:03But like what?
04:04Or it's exactly what Diddy's lawyers are theorizing it is,
04:08that this was just to make him-
04:10But if you're right, I don't understand why
04:13I don't understand why they would be entitled
04:16to get a warrant showing probable cause
04:19a crime was committed that involves the hotel room.
04:22Let me throw this out to you.
04:23They knew that he was in town.
04:24He'd been in town for how many days?
04:26Five days at this point?
04:27Yeah.
04:28You don't think that the feds were watching him?
04:31That there wasn't surveillance on him the whole time?
04:34They knew he was in town.
04:35But they didn't bring anything up at the bail hearing.
04:38And if he was doing something untoward-
04:40Well, they did bring up the fact that they found,
04:42well, after the fact.
04:44But I'm saying, if you're right,
04:45that they got a warrant because of something they saw,
04:48they would have brought that up at the bail hearing.
04:50And they didn't.
04:51So I'm really puzzled.
04:53I'm really puzzled by this.
04:55Hi, this is Jennifer Harold DeShields in Los Angeles.
04:58And look, it's so crazy that Diddy never met a camera
05:01he didn't like, and now cameras are putting him in jail.
05:04The irony.
05:05I really think that the law enforcement
05:08probably wanted to have control over this narrative
05:11and wanted to arrest him rather than him coming to them.
05:15I think they just kind of wanted to control this story.
05:18And videos like this also always make me wonder,
05:21what was the last thing he ate?
05:23Well, because it would have been his last time
05:26eating in full freedom.
05:28Civilian food.
05:29Yeah.
05:30By the way, speaking of Diddy behind bars,
05:33they placed him, remember he's at MDC Brooklyn,
05:37Metropolitan Detention Center.
05:39They placed him on a suicide watch.
05:42Now, we're told this is a standard thing that
05:46happens for people who are being held
05:49in the shoe in the special housing unit,
05:54that they place them on this suicide watch.
05:58Diddy's people tell us that he is not suicidal
06:01and that he is in a good frame of mind.
06:03This could be a little bit of CYA
06:05because of Jeffrey Epstein.
06:08I mean, they do not want a repeat of that.
