A new exhibition exploring the “enduring allure” of small figurines has launched in Bristol.

"Triggerines & Sentimentos", by artist and designer Norman Gosney has opened at THE PIT, Bristol’s newest art gallery space on Wells Road in Totterdown.

The work showcases figurines found in dumpsters, charity stores, and jumble sales that have been recycled and renewed.

00:00So I decided to inflict on Bristol, the city I come from, not only my latest artwork, but also a partial retrospective of my old stuff.
00:10When I say partial retrospective, I mean stuff that I'm a bit partial to. It's none of my commercial work, it's none of my real movie posters or my hotels or clubs,
00:19it's just the stuff that I like and my new collection. My new collection is, I took all the little figurines that were collected by people when they went on holiday and stuff in the mid-century
00:35and I tried to drag them screaming into the current age because, you know, they signify, our generation has looked down on these things as kitsch and there's a lot of great work in that stuff.
00:50So that's the heart of the statues that I'm doing. It's a reimagining and it's a reuse of old stuff.
