00:00We believe that the system not only enabled but potentially and allowed to a
00:11knowing extent the widespread sexual abuse of the survivors that we
00:16represent. I have many years of practice and I have never seen a case as horrific
00:23as this. This case combines some of the most horrific elements of the cases
00:30involving Jimmy Savile, Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein. Savile because in
00:40this case as in that the institution we say knew about the behavior. Epstein
00:47because in that case as in this there was a procurement system in place to
00:53source the women and girls as you know there are some very young victims of
00:58this for abuse and Weinstein because it was a person at the very top of the
01:05organization who was abusing his power.
01:10We will say it plainly Mohamed El Fayed was a monster. He was a monster but he
01:27was a monster enabled by a system. A system that pervaded Harrods. Those of
01:38you who have seen the most magnificent documentary that we saw last night will
01:42know and may well remember very clearly the words of the manager who said the
01:49following anyone who tells you they didn't know what was going on is lying.
