00:00Former United States of America President, Donald Trump has reacted to the apparent assassination
00:06to his life for the second time within 2 months and less than 2 months to the USA presidential
00:11elections.
00:12The former president is seeking to be re-elected back to the White House.
00:17Donald Trump referred to being US president as a dangerous business as he held his first
00:23campaign event since the apparent attempt on his life in Florida on Sunday.
00:29The former president, Donald Trump who spoke at a town hall in Flint, Michigan, discussed
00:35the second assassination attempt on him, described the incident in detail, explained how a woman
00:42helped the security operatives to locate the suspect after the suspect had fled out of
00:47police sight and started wandering along the roads.
00:51According to Donald Trump, immediately after a Secret Service personnel sighted the gunman
00:56coming out from a bush with a .47 rifle on his hand, the secret agent without asking
01:02question or any act of delay, opened fire on the gunman, forcing the gunman to flee
01:08with his guns and other properties abandoned.
01:12Donald Trump said, while the gunman was running, a woman sighted him and followed him up.
01:19The woman took photographs of the gunman and submitted the photographs to the sheriff and
01:23in less than 10 minutes, the security operatives intercepted the suspect.
01:29Official reports indicated that the suspected gunman behind the apparent assassination attempt
01:34against Donald Trump did not shoot.
01:37The armed suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, was said to have spent nearly 12 hours on the
01:43perimeter of Donald Trump's golf course before being spotted by a Secret Service agent.
01:50The apparent assassination attempt occurred just two months after Donald Trump narrowly
01:55survived an assassination attempt with injuries on one of his ears.
02:00Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday paid a scheduled visit and praised the Secret Service
02:05for stopping the apparent assassination.
02:07I'm fine, the Secret Service did a good job, actually, he said.
02:14We gathered that a Secret Service agent fired several shots at Ryan Wesley Routh, who was
02:20allegedly concealed in a three-line arm with a rifle at the Trump International Golf Club
02:25in West Palm Beach, Florida, about 300 to 500 yards from the Republican presidential
02:31nominee, according to police authorities.
02:35The suspect was able to get into a car and drive off, but was stopped by law enforcement.
02:41He appeared in court on Monday and currently faces two felony gun charges.
02:47The investigation is ongoing, the police stated.
02:51Trump also discussed his phone call with President Joe Biden following the incident, calling
02:56the conversation, very, very nice.
03:00He called me just to, you know, express his sort of horror that a thing like that could
03:06happen.
03:07But it was a very good conversation, Trump said.
03:12Trump said Biden told him he wants to be sure the Secret Service has all the resources it
03:17needs to do its job, adding, I hope that is the case.
03:22The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, according to multiple reports, was a man who once wrote
03:28a book urging Iran to kill the former president.
03:32Ryan Routh portrayed himself online as a man who built housing for homeless people in Hawaii.
03:38He also tried to recruit fighters for Ukraine to defend itself against Russia, and described
03:44his support and understanding for Donald Trump, even urging Iran to kill the former
03:49president.
03:51You are free to assassinate Trump, Routh wrote of Iran in an apparently self-published book
03:57in 2023, Ukraine's Unwinnable War, which described the former president as a fool and buffoon
04:05for both the Jan. 6, 2021, capital riots and the tremendous blunder of leaving the Iran
04:13nuclear deal.
04:15Routh also wrote that he once voted for Trump, apportioning a part of the blame to himself.
04:22In a tweet in June 2020, after the police killing of George Floyd, Routh said that President
04:29Trump could win re-election by issuing an executive order to prosecute police misconduct.
04:35However, in recent years, his posts appear to have soured on Trump, and he expressed
04:42support for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the current Democratic presidential
04:48nominee.
04:49Democracy is on the ballot and we cannot lose, he wrote on Ex in April in support of Biden.
04:57Following the assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania in July, a post
05:02on Routh's account urged Biden and Harris to visit those wounded in the shooting and
05:07attend the funeral of the firefighter who was killed.
05:11Trump will never do anything for them, Routh wrote.
05:15Sure the world want compassion and humanity is all about.
05:19He described Trump as a child that we elected for our next president that ended up being
05:25brainless.
05:26Routh, 58, who was arrested Sunday was accused of stalking the GOP presidential nominee as
05:33he golfed in West Palm Beach, Florida, with a AK-47-style rifle in what has now been found
05:40as an assassination attempt thwarted by the Secret Service.
05:45Through his voluminous online footprint, public records, news interviews and videos, a picture
05:52emerged of Routh as a man with a criminal past, plenty of outrage and shifting politics.
05:59His over 500 posts on Ex showed his views ranging from the left to the right, including
06:05support for politicians such as Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard and Nikki Haley, as well as
06:11Trump.
06:12Voter records show he registered as an unaffiliated voter in North Carolina in 2012, most recently
06:19voting in person during the state's Democratic primary in March.
06:24Further revelations show that Routh also made 19 small donations totaling $140 since 2019
06:31to ActBlue, a political action committee that supports Democratic candidates, according
06:36to federal campaign finance records.
06:39Meanwhile, Joe Biden, Harris Kamala among many other persons have condemned the apparent
06:45second assassination attempt on Donald Trump life.
06:49I have been briefed by my team regarding what federal law enforcement is investigating as
06:55a possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today.
06:59A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement
07:05partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former president and those around
07:10him safe.
07:12I am relieved that the former president is unharmed.
07:15There is an active investigation into this incident as law enforcement gathers more details
07:21about what happened.
07:23As I have said many times, there is no place for political violence or for any violence
07:29ever in our country, and I have directed my team to continue to ensure that Secret
07:34Service has every resource, capability and protective measure necessary to ensure the
07:39former president's continued safety, President Joe Biden stated on his Facebook page.
07:45I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his
07:50property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe.
07:54Violence has no place in America, the USA Vice President, Kamala Harris stated also
08:00on her Facebook page.
08:02I would like to thank everyone for your concern and well wishes.
08:07It was certainly an interesting day.
08:10Most importantly, I want to thank the US Secret Service, Sheriff Rick Bradshaw and his Office
08:16of Brave and Dedicated Patriots, and all of law enforcement, for the incredible job done
08:23today at Trump International in keeping me, as the 45th President of the United States
08:29and the Republican nominee in the upcoming presidential election, safe.
08:34The job done was absolutely outstanding.
08:36I am very proud to be an American, Donald Trump stated in a tweet on Ed's social media
08:42platform.
08:44And then you wonder why I get shot at, right, you know, only consequential presidents get
08:51shot at.
08:52Well, it's been a great experience.
08:54It's a dangerous business, however, being president.
08:58It's a little bit dangerous.
08:59It's, you know, they think race car driving is dangerous.
09:03No, they think bull riding.
09:05That's pretty scary, right?
09:07No, this is a dangerous business and we have to keep it safe a few days.
09:13And I have to say, because I've, I have to while we're on the subject, because people
09:17do like to talk about it, a few days ago we had an incident.
09:22I have to say, Secret Service did a hell of a job.
09:25They really did.
09:26They caught, one of the gentlemen that, one of the agents was walking a couple of holes
09:36in front and he saw a rifle, AK-47, that's serious stuff, right?
09:42You know more about that.
09:43My sons know more about this stuff, but AK-47, that's a, that's a bad one.
09:48The other one was an AR-15.
09:51This was an AK-47 and he saw the barrel of the gun coming out from a bush.
09:55Can you believe it?
09:56This guy was all set.
09:57He was all set to do his number and there was no talk.
10:01He didn't say, hello, what are you doing here, please?
10:04And he ends up getting shot himself.
10:07He took his gun and started shooting him.
10:10And this guy ran, I don't know if he's, where is he?
10:17Not here, right?
10:18This guy, these guys do a great job.
10:22Now they do need more people and they've been complaining about that for a long time, but
10:25he did a great job.
10:27But you want to know another sort of a miracle?
10:30So the guy is now running for his life and he's got a car a block away or whatever.
10:35And a woman, this is a woman, not a man, a woman, see?
10:39Women are smarter than men.
10:41I hate to say, how does that sound?
10:47Our great first lady is very happy now.
10:50Let me just, let me just tell you, think of this.
10:53Who would do this?
10:54I actually asked, I was with the sheriff this morning, I was with a couple of people from
10:58secret service.
10:59Who would do this?
11:00So you now have a man running, not with a gun.
11:02He dropped the gun.
11:04But he was gone.
11:06And a woman driving in a car, saw a man on the street, pretty busy street running.
11:13And she followed him.
11:15And he got into the car and she stopped because she thought he was trouble.
11:19He looked different.
11:21He's like trouble.
11:23She followed him.
11:24It wasn't very far and parked the car behind his car and started taking pictures of his
11:30license plate.
11:31Now think of it.
11:32And Sarah, think of it.
11:33No, no, seriously.
11:34Who would do that?
11:35It's the women, not from good or bad, not from, you know, strength or heroism, no, just
11:48you see somebody running.
11:49I see people running all the time and you don't fuck.
11:53She saw something in this guy that was bad.
11:55She may have heard maybe gunshots because there were four, I guess, four gunshot.
12:00Actually the got the shots.
12:01He never got off a shot.
12:03The shots were from Secret Service.
12:04But think of it.
12:06Who would do this?
12:07If you took a thousand of these incidents, would even one person have done it?
12:12This woman was I haven't met her, but I'd like to meet her.
12:15I'm going to meet her.
12:16I hope.
12:17But think of this.
12:18She goes in, she takes pictures of the plate, and then she sends the pictures into the sheriff's
12:24office.
12:26And the sheriffs are saying, wow, this is pretty amazing.
12:28And they were able to get this guy within 10 minutes at a high speed chase on the highway.
12:34They got him.
12:38Otherwise we'd probably have an AK 47.
12:42They had the camera.
12:43They had the whole he had the whole thing.
12:45He's a sophisticated guy.
12:47He even had the serial number taken off the rifle, the gun.
12:51But think of this.
12:52So we'd have all this stuff.
12:54But I'd be walking around saying, I wonder where this guy is.
12:56He's in this audience.
12:58We would have a maniac out there.
13:01This woman was unbelievable because I actually asked the sheriff if it happened a thousand
13:06times, would anybody have done that?
13:08He said maybe, but not much, not much.
13:11So she did.
13:12She was really amazing.
13:13Amazing job.
