Late 1970s - Sammy Davis Jr for Suntory TV commercial (Japan TV)
Suntory was the Japanese distributor for Jim Beam. After the parent company of Jim Beam (Fortune Brands) spun off Jim Beam, Suntory swooped in to buy the iconic liquor brand. Even though Suntory owns the company, it is still headquartered in Chicago (Merchandise Mart building). It used to be headquartered in Deerfield, IL (suburban Chicago).
