00:00Everyone loves a freebie, but apparently not quite as much as Keir Starmer does.
00:04According to Sky News, the Prime Minister has apparently received
00:08over £107,000 worth of freebies since the end of 2019.
00:12That's nearly £70,000 more than Labour's Lucy Powell.
00:15She received the second highest donations of over £40,000 worth of free stuff.
00:20Government officials are reportedly worried about the PM's willingness
00:24to accept hospitality to go to football matches.
00:26This could become a conflict of interest,
00:28as there are plans to overhaul the sports regulator, which many clubs oppose.
00:32But the Premier League currently stands as one of the biggest donors of hospitality,
00:36with Sakhir declaring over £12,000 of free gifts from the organisation,
00:41which is currently lobbying against a football regulator.
00:44Ministers are usually told to avoid hospitality from any organisation
00:48connected to an ongoing government regulatory decision.
00:51In the past, the Prime Minister defended his acceptance of freebies,
00:54saying what he's doing is within government rules.
00:57He also previously insisted that his acceptance of free football tickets
01:01is due to security reasons,
01:02as he cannot watch the match from the stands amongst other fans.
01:06Several senior Labour ministers argue the story has gotten out of hand
01:09due to a lack of political grip on the operation.
01:11So what do you think?
01:13Is it irresponsible leadership or fair game?
