00:00As a Palestinian refugee who was born, raised and lived in a Japanese refugee camp, I feel
00:19about my childhood. A child without a childhood. Abject poverty, deprivation. And I realized
00:30the only way to get out of it is education. So I dreamed I want to go to Harvard and be
00:38the first Palestinian to work in an Israeli hospital.
00:42I want to go to work in Israel in an OBGYN hospital. A man who delivers Israeli babies.
00:55It's one of the better known tragedies of the attack. In part because it unfolded live
01:01on Israeli television.
01:02Dr. Abulaysh's home was shelled twice by Israeli tanks. His three daughters were killed.
01:18And you could still see some body parts shitted on the walls.
01:22I don't want anyone to imagine what did I see.
01:27There was a huge amount of political drama around this act that killed Dr. Abulaysh's
01:32three daughters.
01:34Within the borders of the hospital, all are equal. Why not to be outside equal?
01:40He's just trying to get an apology. He's not asking for anything else.
01:44He thought that Israel would be happy to acknowledge and apologize. There was nothing farther from
01:52the truth.
01:56My daughters, they are not dead. They are only far away from me. And I say to them on
02:05daily basis, I didn't give up. I will do my best to transform this tragedy into a positive
02:14act for them and for others. And not to forgive them.
