00:08The security experts have researched and revealed the most high-risk areas of being pickpocketed
00:14in Great Britain, and it's unquestionably the capital, London. But which boroughs in
00:19the capital are the worst? Westminster has been named the UK's pickpocketing
00:25capital. Between March 2023 and 2024, the London Borough reported over 28,000 theft
00:34from the person incident, which is the equivalent to 133.21 incidents per 1,000 people. Westminster
00:44has also topped the list for the areas which have seen the biggest increase in pickpocketing
00:49cases, with a three-year change of 712.32%. Second on the list is in North London, Camden.
01:00Over the past year, more than 6,800 pickpocketing incidents were recorded across the borough,
01:06which is the equivalent to 31.4 per 1,000 people. When looking at the areas of the country
01:13where pickpocketing cases have increased the most, Camden ranks 15th.
01:19Then coming in at 3rd place, with a bronze medal that is likely to get stolen, is Southwark.
01:24With almost 6,000 pickpocketing incidents here between 2023 and 2024, the London Borough
01:32has also experienced the 12th highest increase between 2021 and 2024, which is the 6th highest
01:40out of all London Boroughs. The other London Boroughs that make up the
01:44top 10 pickpocketing hotspots in the whole of the UK included Kensington and Chelsea,
01:50Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Newham, Tower Hamlet and Haringey. For more on this, head
