00:00Hi everybody, it's Janie here. I just want to give you a quick update on what's happening because there's some news in this video.
00:07At the beginning of the year, I was on immunotherapy and I felt great on it and I managed to do two tours on it.
00:13But then as the summer advanced, the chemotherapy had to be introduced because my tumour marker started to go up
00:21and the cancer metastasised, which basically means it spread into my liver, my kidney,
00:26wee bits in my lungs and some on my lymph nodes, which meant that I had to go on to chemotherapy.
00:33That chemotherapy didn't work. I'm now on to another chemotherapy just now and it's really kicking me.
00:41And because of that, it means that I can't do the tour.
00:46Now, before I get into that, I want everybody to know how hard it is for me to be able to accept that I can't work
00:53because working to me is life and being a comedian is the only thing that makes me feel alive.
01:00But this chemo is absolutely kicking me to bits.
01:04Now, cancer affects one in every two people and I cannae thank the Scottish NHS, the Marie Curie, the Macmillan Daybed people enough
01:13and all of you giving me all the support.
01:16It is really difficult to admit, and especially for me, that I can't do this.
01:21My doctors have advised me not to work anymore and that's been possibly the hardest news in this whole cancer journey.
01:30And I'm sending love and solidarity to everybody out there who is living with cancer.
01:36People who are having to tell their family how they feel and these diagnoses are so hard
01:41and basically all we're doing is just putting sandbags up to hold the water back.
01:45Even the computer's arguing with me.
01:49But yeah, so the tour has to be cancelled and I'm really upset about that because we'd sold so many tickets.
01:55So if you can just go to the people who you bought the tickets from and they'll be able to refund you.
02:01And I'm really sorry about the inconvenience of this, but I need you to know that I thank you for all your support and love that you've given me through this whole time.
02:08It's been the hardest three years of my life.
02:11I'm going to still keep doing the chemotherapy.
02:13I'm going to see if I can hod back the tide.
02:16And I'm going to watch those cancer marker tumours.
02:19And I'm going to thank you all for your blessings and your love.
02:24I can't believe I've not to work again. It's really difficult.
02:27But thanks everybody.
