You’ll often find that when you’re put in a position that’s out of your comfort zone, you’ll deal with the situation with resources around you and get it done. It’s no different when you have less tech.

00:10but that's Gibraltar kind of amazes me how that rock is a country on its own

00:21but it got me thinking about how not having much,
00:26having constraints can actually help you and build.
00:30That was a rock. It was literally a rock. There was nothing on it.
00:34We all know the political reasons why England still has it,
00:39but that's not what I want to get into.
00:41The point is it was a rock and out of a rock basically came a state
00:47effectively a country.
00:49So they had that limitation of it's a rock,
00:54just a fricking rock. But they've been able to build everything there.
00:58There's a, uh, an airport on there.
01:02And when the plane comes in,
01:04they actually close off the road because it's so small.
01:06You can't have a, an airport on that rock.
01:08So they've built it kind of on the water and it's crazy.
01:13It's crazy. So having limitations are actually a good thing.
01:17So you've got to think about your technology.
01:19This is tech minimalism after all as to how do you limit your tech so you don't
01:27have to, um, have so much stuff that you don't need basically.
01:31So if you limit the amount of stuff you have,
01:34the kind of software that you have,
01:36you'll find that you'll be a way more productive than you actually are.
01:40Cause it's crazy. Like Apple notes, for instance, I use Apple notes.
01:45Why do I use Apple notes?
01:46Cause it's simple and it gives me nothing other than something to write on.
01:51So that limitation enables me to do more,
01:55enables me to have more time because I don't have to think about all these
02:00bells and whistles as I call it in software that you just don't need.
02:04So limitations are a good thing.
02:07Gibraltar had a limitation of it being a fricking rock,
02:11but they've built a state out of it with airports and shops and everything.
