00:00President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Indonesia Islamic Financial Center

00:04in Medan Merdeka, Central Jakarta, on September 17th.

00:09In his welcome, the president said,

00:11Indonesia has the opportunity and potential to become the center of the halal industry and the center of the world's halal ecosystem,

00:18because it has 236 million Muslim residents

00:21and is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world.

00:26Therefore, the president asked that his line can strengthen the sharia economic ecosystem

00:32and prepare professional actors in the halal industry.

00:36The president said that the sharia financial industry in Indonesia always grows higher

00:41when compared to national banks.

00:44The president said that the sharia bank assets grew by around 9.07%,

00:49while the national bank assets grew by 8.9%.

00:53Then, for third-party funds, the sharia bank grew by 10.41%,

00:58while the national bank grew by 8.43%.

01:04Therefore, the Indonesian sharia bank, as an important part of the sharia economic ecosystem,

01:14must be advanced,

01:20must have modern management,

01:24must be competitive,

01:26professional to reach the potential markets that we have.

01:34President Joko Widodo hopes that the Indonesian Islamic Financial Center

01:38can provide development in the sharia economy

01:41that supports the halal industry, supports Muslim fashion,

01:45supports halal tourism and also supports halal food and drinks in Indonesia.

01:50The president hopes that all the existing potential does not shift to other countries.
