00:00Daniel Chucky Barrera taking on Jonathan Almasin, who hails from Manila in the Philippines.
00:15TJ DeSantis along with Abel Sanchez, Doug Fisher.
00:18We are live tonight inside Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California.
00:23The site of Tom Laughlin 360 Promotions Hollywood Fight Nights.
00:26Appreciate you joining us live on UFC Fight Pass.
00:30Jonathan Almasin wearing the black, taking on Daniel Chucky Barrera, who wears the origin black.
00:50Talk about the experience of the Filipino.
00:53What do you expect him to bring to the table, Doug, and try to test Daniel Chucky Barrera?
00:59Well, he's gone 10, 12 rounds with world-class guys.
01:04He went 12 rounds with a former strawweight junior flyweight champion in South Africa named Hecky Butler.
01:12So when you have that kind of experience, you know how to survive.
01:15You know if there's some rough areas you know to tie up.
01:19You know how to get through those rough spots.
01:23Four rounds is not a long time for this guy.
01:26I also expect him just to be able to, you know, try his best to surprise Chucky.
01:33Chucky is an orthodox boxer who has really good technique, but he does everything sort of by the book.
01:40And sometimes the more unorthodox fighters can fluster those fighters that are sort of panning behind him.
01:46Did you say Hecky Butler?
01:48Hecky Butler.
01:49What a name.
01:50Yeah. Funny looking little dude. Great guy.
01:53Good fighter.
01:54Like one of the best South African fighters in the last 25 years.
01:58Stop. Stop. Stop.
02:00See what I'm saying?
02:01They will do some weird stuff.
02:03Don't do that.
02:04Why not?
02:05Chucky's not mad about it.
02:07If you don't get a point taken away, it's not really cheating.
02:09Exactly. No harm, no foul.
02:11Right.
02:14He's showing off a little bit.
02:16Comfortable in there.
02:18Barrera expected this.
02:19We asked him, you know, we noticed at the weigh-in, Coach and I,
02:22that Amisen is shorter.
02:26You know, it's kind of rare that Chucky's in there with somebody shorter than him.
02:30And I asked, can that be difficult?
02:32And he said, absolutely.
02:34If a shorter fighter uses that to his advantage by getting low,
02:38you know, they can make you reach and then they can try to counter you as you reach low for them.
02:43You know, not a lot of guys at 5'5'' come in as a taller fighter in a fight.
02:51According to the tail of the tape, Amisen is just two inches shorter,
02:55but he looks like shorter than that.
02:58He's listed at 5'3". He looks like 5'2".
03:015'2", 5'1".
03:03Maybe it's that wide stance. I don't know.
03:05Stop. Stop. Stop.
03:07Why not?
03:08Buttered heads.
03:09You? Anywhere?
03:11But no blood. But no blood.
03:13Box.
03:18You know, for an experienced fighter like Amisen,
03:21it's important to come out quick in a full-on fight,
03:24because a full-on fight goes by so fast.
03:26He's used to pacing himself for longer fights.
03:30Yeah, we talk a lot about controlled aggression.
03:33When you don't have the time to work,
03:35you've got to step up that aggression,
03:37maybe make it unbridled a little bit more.
03:39Yeah.
03:42And Chuckie's used to that, at this stage of his career,
03:46winning four rounds, four out of four rounds.
03:49So Jonathan's going to have to make the fight to win.
03:53Throwing a little butt there, but no damage.
03:56Last time we saw him, he was really shining
04:00against a veteran from Mexico.
04:03But the veteran from Mexico wasn't doing stuff like this.
04:08He really didn't do much.
04:10All he did was stand up.
04:11Yeah.
04:16But as short as he is,
04:17he doesn't have very far to go to stand up.
04:19No, he doesn't.
04:25All right, here we go.
04:26About to get ready for round number two.
04:30Hold on.
04:31Daniel Chuckie Barrera taking on Jonathan Amisen,
04:36along with Abel Sanchez, Doug Fisher.
04:38Let him go, let him go.
04:39Let him go, Jonathan.
04:40Stop, stop, stop, stop.
04:44Listen.
04:54Stop, stop, nobody punch.
04:56Barrera's going to have to be careful with that.
05:05Stop.
05:11The tactics of Amisen,
05:13throwing the ire of the crowd here inside Chulak.
05:22And they've been spoiled with some sustained action
05:25through these three pounds.
05:26But here we go.
05:27Jab.
05:28Three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
05:34nine.
05:35Are you okay?
05:36Are you bludgeoned?
05:38Abel, how hurt was Amisen there?
05:40He was a little off balance when he caught the shot.
05:44You can see the Chocolatito training.
05:50Yeah, absolutely.
05:54One of the masters at those weights.
05:59Halfway point here of round number two.
06:03I see a similar stance, hand-foot placement,
06:08the great balance.
06:10Only difference, obviously, is Chocolatito was...
06:14He dealt in volume.
06:17The volume puncher.
06:18Barrera is more of just a straight-up technician.
06:25It looks like he's starting to, you know,
06:27get used to this unorthodox style and the movement
06:31and time his punches better.
06:33So he's landing.
06:35He's getting used to the height.
06:36You see how he's adjusting his distance
06:38to not let it allow him to get up underneath him.
06:45Amisen throwing some punches here in this round.
06:48There's a nice left hand by Chucky.
06:56That was a good shot.
06:57That was a hook, right?
06:58Left hook.
07:00That one definitely landed.
07:01A little more flush.
07:02He's feeling this one.
07:03He's wobbling.
07:04Nothing else.
07:05His equilibrium is off.
07:06That's it.
07:07That's it.
07:08He wants to get back up.
07:10Daniel Chucky Barrera moves his record to 5-0-1
07:15as he successfully picks up the fourth knockout
07:18of his young boxing career.
07:22That was impressive because
07:25some young fighters would allow like that
07:28a veteran like that to fluster them,
07:31to frustrate them.
07:32And Chucky just laughed it off.
07:35Kept his cool.
07:36Kept his cool.
07:37Kept his focus.
07:38Was reading his fighter.
07:40He figured him out pretty quick.
07:45Solid bit of work turned in by Upland California's
07:48Daniel Chucky Barrera.
07:50Let's take a look at the final 10 seconds of the fight.
07:52Doug walks through.
07:55Chucky caught him with the hook.
07:56Two hooks.
07:58Both right behind the right ear of Almacen.
08:03And those are shots that will affect a fighter's equilibrium.
08:12You know, Dougie, that was impressive.
08:14This is a very good opponent for him.
08:16And Chucky, I don't want to say dismantled him,
08:21but did what he wanted to do in there
08:23against a very experienced guy.
08:25Barrera never lost control.
08:27No.
08:28Never lost control.
08:29Even when it was looking a little wild
08:31and a little ugly in spots.
08:33Never got mad.
08:35And that speaks to Barrera's maturity.
08:38And I think he's very precocious for a guy who
08:42doesn't even have eight fights yet.
08:46Just 22 years old is Daniel Chucky Barrera.
08:50And he shines tonight underneath the 360 lights
08:54here at Hollywood Fight Nights.
08:57Another victory to be proud of as he gets the stoppage
09:00in round number two.
09:02All right, to make this one official,
09:03we go to Matthew Perino for our official sign
09:06of the stoppage.
09:12Ladies and gentlemen,
09:14referee Jack Reiss has called the stop to the action
09:17at two minutes and 35 seconds in the second round.
09:21The opponent could not reach the count of 10.
09:24Therefore your winner by knockout out of the red corner
09:29and still undefeated,
09:31Daniel Chucky Barrera!
09:41Now 5-0-1.
09:43Daniel Chucky Barrera gets another victory
09:46and another stoppage.
09:48Doug, I asked you at the top of the fight,
09:50what type of test you expected this to be
09:53for Chucky.
