00:00We're going to start with NBA star Derek White, who was involved in a fight at the Colorado
00:12football game over the weekend, and the entire thing was captured on video, and TMZ Sports
00:21has that clip.
00:22If you're not familiar with Derek White, well, you probably are, but this guy is one of the
00:27best players in the entire league, certainly one of the best defenders.
00:30Mojo won a title this season with the Boston Celtics, one of the most important players
00:35on that team.
00:36Did he rest during the summer?
00:38No, Mojo.
00:39He then went with LeBron James, Steph Curry, and the rest of the Team USA guys to Paris,
00:44where he helped Team USA win a gold medal.
00:47Well, Mojo, he's back stateside now, relaxing a little bit before the basketball season
00:53tips off.
00:54And he was at his alma mater's football game over the weekend.
00:56Now, before Colorado was cool, before Deion Sanders pulled into town, he was a star on
01:03their basketball team.
01:04There is Derek right there doing work as a Colorado Buffalo.
01:08Well, lots of attention around the football team right now, Mojo, and when they had their
01:13big rivalry game against in-state rival Colorado State, Derek was there trying to have a good
01:21time until the fists started flying.
01:24Watch this.
01:25So there it is, Mojo, I mean, it's clear as day, the guy who was standing across from
01:41Derek White seems to do, you know, sort of throw like a spinning back fist that appears
01:47to connect with Derek White's head.
01:49I'll give his buddies credit, I assume they're his friends, Derek's friends, by holding him
01:55back.
01:56This is a man who is worth a lot of money.
01:59He recently signed a four-year, $118 million contract, Mojo, and, you know, despite the
02:06fact that he got hit, I would not have been shocked if Derek White ended up being sued
02:11if there was some big melee that ensued afterwards.
02:14His friend kept him away from the fight, and although he was hit, it did not get worse
02:20like it could have.
02:21Oh, absolutely, and hey, you're right, Babcock, nail on the head.
02:25Shout-outs to his friends for being real friends.
02:28You know, there's a lot of people out there that might have, like, instigated him to retaliate,
02:33maybe joined his side in the scrap, but, you know, a real friend is going to do just that.
02:38They're going to pull you away from that situation because it is a no-win situation.
02:45The only thing you stand to gain is maybe satisfying your ego for the instant, and then
02:50after that, it's all lawsuits, but I got to give Derek a lot of credit here too, because
02:54while his friends did restrain him, they did not have to try very hard.
02:59I mean, he stayed back there.
03:01I mean, I got to think if he wanted to be line after that guy, he could have easily
03:05hit a little spin move or something and been right back in the fray instantaneously.
03:11Anytime you're going to a rivalry game, you're going to be on red alert, right?
03:16Colorado state, Colorado, you know, in-state rivalries are big ones.
03:22So tempers are likely to flare, especially for a game like this that actually got a little
03:28bit heated on the field too.
03:30I mean, we all saw the conversation that went down with Dion Sanders as well, and that's
03:35a special factor and variable here, right?
03:37Like Dion Sanders is a superstar.
03:41He's brought more attention to Colorado than Colorado has ever had for anything.
03:46So, you know, when people come to town, they're going to be ready to go.
03:50And that extends past the football field and into the stands itself.
03:54And people are going to be all emotionally charged up.
03:57And unfortunately things like this happen.
03:59But again, shout outs to not only Derek, but his friends for not escalating this situation
04:05and demonstrating self-control when it's very difficult to in a time like this.
