00:00This is a video clip from the first day of the attack on the city of Belgrade.
00:07...seriously attacked by the occupying army and terrorists.
00:11We also have a commander with us.
00:13Here, in the morning, there was a severe mortar attack,
00:16and somewhere around 8 o'clock, planes began to fly over this place,
00:20and then this position.
00:22What happened at 12 o'clock, when it was necessary to retreat to the force of the enemy?
00:27Planes flew over, machine-gunned our positions.
00:31Then all the forces began to fire with 120mm mortars at our positions,
00:37and they blew up the church again.
00:40They blew it up again, so to speak.
00:44It's not good.
00:46Is there a boy here who can be trusted,
00:49for example, who has signed a contract with a priest?
00:52You can't trust that here.
00:55No one believes that, because it's simply impossible.
00:59The pictures of today's destruction of Vidusevac are pictures of a battlefield
01:02that believes only in God, itself and its weapons,
01:05with which life and home are defended.
01:12The news that was most talked about today in Pula and Istria
01:15was certainly the departure from the Pula military airport,
01:18the entire air force,
01:20which consisted of 28 MiG fighters
01:23and 17 Galeb fighter jets.
01:26However, the military airport will not be abandoned,
01:29but, as we found out, there will be air defense units,
01:32smaller units and smaller combat capabilities.
01:35The days in Pula and Istria have passed peacefully,
01:38but the population, with great tension,
01:40follows the development of events throughout Croatia.
01:42A large number of Istrians spent the night
01:44because of the reports of air riots in the Republic
01:46and disturbing news that conflicts are being waged in the Pula military airports.
01:49These rumors are not accurate,
01:51and as we found out from today's conference for journalists
01:54of the municipal crisis headquarters in Pula,
01:56only one incident was recorded that night at the military airport.
01:59After the shots were fired into the air,
02:01which made no one approach this aircraft,
02:04the date is urgent, two MiGs flew,
02:06however, after ten minutes,
02:08the whole action was stopped because there was no attack.
02:11The crisis headquarters of the municipality of Pula
02:13estimates that any dissemination of disinformation is very dangerous
02:16and emphasizes that the crisis headquarters works day and night
02:19to control the situation in the city.
02:21The crisis headquarters still does not provide any services to the city of the army,
02:24and the idea that Pula is cooperating with the army,
02:27which was declared in the Croatian Occupation, does not exist.
02:30Here, namely, negotiations are being held,
02:32because they want to preserve not only human lives,
02:34but also material goods and cultural heritage of invaluable value.
02:38Finally, we bring to light the news
02:40that the Serbian Democratic Party of Istria and Kvarner,
02:42with its border guards in Rijeka, Pula, Rovinj and Porec,
02:45announced to the public the decision to stop working in this area.
02:49The explanation states that until the war ends,
02:51there is no democratic and political action.
02:54The SDS appeals to its members
02:56not to allow the demolition of the bridges
02:58that were built by the Serbian Democratic Party of Istria
03:00with its fellow citizens.
03:02However, in the long text, the Serbian Democratic Party
03:04did not clarify or prevent any word
03:07from the current actions of the SDS in other parts of Croatia.
03:13Despite the numerous attacks by the Serbian Occupation Army,
03:16the people of Rijeka have spent the day
03:18listening attentively to the TV and radio program.
03:21The reason for this is, first of all, the war,
03:23which is still being fought against Croatia,
03:25and the coastal and coastal blockade,
03:27the largest Adriatic ports from the side of the aggressor.
03:30Unfortunately, given that we still have the continuation of the war in Croatia,
03:35we are making intensive preparations,
03:37but in the other part, that is civil protection.
03:40Due to the order that we received from the police,
03:45we decided not to start fighting.
03:48Where there are still no beginnings,
03:50we all turned to protection.
03:52If someone else, who otherwise does not survive,
03:55starts the war.
03:57Although in the first hours of the morning,
03:59Rijeka did not experience an air strike
04:02and we did not have deportations of people,
04:04already somewhere in the dawn,
04:06representatives and I had a continuation of conversations
04:10and intensive conversations with the garrison command
04:13about how we will honor the existing agreements.
04:18The truth of certain provocations was also shooting,
04:23but it is more an effect of fear
04:25than a desire for any excesses.
04:28The agreements are, except with representatives
04:31and with the leadership of the Assembly and with the parties,
04:34so practically in the defense and preparation of the city
04:38everyone participates,
04:40because we simply need help
04:42to maintain what we have,
04:44and if someone starts, to be as ready as possible.
04:47Although at 12 o'clock in the morning,
04:49a ceasefire was put in place,
04:51the blockade of the river basin was not lifted,
04:53but was strengthened again by the restriction of navigation.
04:55According to the estimates of the crisis headquarters,
04:57there is a real danger that the fleet of occupiers
04:59is trying to be overwhelmed by the fuel
05:01of the local oil industry.
05:04Dear viewers, we have also received this picture.
05:08This is the first border crossing of the Republic of Croatia
05:11towards foreign countries, towards Hungary.
05:14Remember, this is Terezinopolje.
05:24As we learned, the President of the Republic,
05:26Dr. Franjo Tudjman, informed the members
05:28of the State Council meeting
05:31about the talks he had with the President
05:33of the Peace Conference in Yugoslavia,
05:35Lord Carrington,
05:37the President of the Republic of Serbia,
05:39Slobodan MiloÅ”ević,
05:41and General Veljko Kadijević.
05:43He also explained the significance of signing
05:45a ceasefire agreement in the Republic of Croatia.
05:48The President of the Republic of Croatia,
05:50Dr. Franjo Tudjman,
05:52accepted the resignation of the Minister of Defense,
05:54Luka Bebić.
05:56For the new Minister of Defense of the Republic of Croatia,
05:58Luka Bebić was appointed by Gojko Å uÅ”ka,
06:00the current Deputy Minister of Defense
06:02and the Minister of Settlement of the Republic of Croatia.
06:05For the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Croatia,
06:07President Tudjman was appointed by Ivan Milas.
06:11And the Government of Croatia today considered the agreement
06:14that was signed by the Presidents of the Republic of Croatia and Serbia,
06:17the Minister of National Defense,
06:19as well as the President of the Commission for Yugoslavia,
06:22Lord Carrington.
06:24In connection with this agreement,
06:26the President of the Republic of Croatia,
06:28Dr. Franjo Gregorić,
06:30brought his program of activities
06:32that come from that document.
06:34By noting that the agreement must be
06:36developed in its modalities,
06:38all ministries will prepare measures
06:40in the shortest possible time
06:42in order to clarify possible disputes,
06:44but also to prepare for the upcoming talks.
06:46In addition to some objections,
06:48the Government initially accepted the agreement
06:50in its integral text.
06:52In the continuation of the work,
06:54the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia
06:56was placed at the disposal of the Croatian
06:58Medical Institution of the Navy,
07:00which is a hospital,
07:02an institute for marine medicine
07:04and a pharmacy warehouse.
07:06For all employees who want to continue
07:08working in the center,
07:10Vlada Jamčić is a status
07:12that they have had so far,
07:14and within real possibilities.
07:16The Ministry of Maritime Affairs
07:18and the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Croatia
07:20have taken over the shipyard institute in Zagreb,
07:22which will act in the future
07:24as a Croatian shipyard institute.
07:26The institute is obliged to continue
07:28its regular activities,
07:30and the Ministry of Health,
07:32in addition to employees,
07:34has the right to a working relationship,
07:36respect for the abolished ranks,
07:38a place for normal work,
07:40a lot of respect for the freedom
07:42of scientific activities.
07:44The Government has accepted the proposal
07:46of the employees in the center
07:48of the military-technical school
07:50to be transferred to the Croatian authorities.
07:52The Government has also considered
07:54several current issues of foreign policy
07:56and relations with other countries.
07:58Croatia today and tomorrow
08:00is experiencing crucial
08:02historical moments,
08:04because with the victims
08:06it will achieve victory
08:08and everything that its citizens
08:10have decided for.
08:12The peace we have taken for ourselves
08:14and take for ourselves
08:16does not depend on us,
08:18said the Vice President of the Government
08:20Dr. Zdravko Tomac at the beginning of the conference
08:22for journalists.
08:24Because Croatia can win by peace
08:26but also by war to achieve goals
08:28that it will not give up.
08:30All democratic forces in the country
08:32and abroad must understand
08:34that our determination for peace
08:36is sincere and already proven,
08:38added Dr. Tomac.
08:40We must say that the Croatian people
08:42as a whole,
08:44and especially certain parts of it,
08:46as a nation and an ethnic group,
08:50have been confronted
08:52with great evil, destruction
08:54and sacrifices.
08:56And that the sacrifices
08:58that were made,
09:00the sufferings that we have endured
09:02and humiliation
09:04that we have been exposed to,
09:06have freed such a great energy
09:08of the people
09:10and the strength of the people
09:12that with the sufferings
09:14that still continue
09:16grow from hour to hour
09:18and which determined
09:20and which will determine
09:22in the future the policy
09:24of the Supreme and the Government
09:26and everyone else in Croatia.
09:28Accordingly, this Government
09:30cannot do anything else
09:34but to seek
09:36an optimal solution to express
09:38the will of the people
09:40and that strong energy
09:42of unity
09:44to achieve our freedom
09:46and to create conditions
09:48to be able to restore everything
09:50that was destroyed
09:52and to be able to pay
09:54all the sacrifices that were made.
09:56However, the Government is responsible
10:00and we, in the name of the Government,
10:02promise
10:06that we will seek
10:08optimal ways to realize
10:10the will of the people
10:14and that we ask
10:16when in a very complex
10:18internal and external situation
10:20we make some moves
10:24that sometimes may look
10:26like a compromise or a step back
10:28to believe us
10:32that we will not give up
10:34and we cannot give up
10:36when we want
10:38to be able to pay
10:40all the sacrifices that were made.
11:08Croatia has a ready response.
11:10We are ready for war today
11:12and that is why the army
11:14recognizes and has a chance
11:16to come to a ceasefire
11:18because these dramatic events
11:22in the past few days
11:24have significantly changed the balance of power.
11:28The defensive forces of Croatia
11:30have strategically, militarily and
11:32armamentally strengthened.
11:34We have acquired a large number
11:36of weapons and ammunition.
11:38We have moved from the defensive
11:40to the offensive.
11:42We have captured a large number
11:44of military bases,
11:46many of which have surrendered
11:48without much resistance.
11:50We have destroyed a large number
11:52of planes, tanks and other
11:54enemies.
11:56In the impossibility to respond
11:58to the efficient defense of the Croatian forces,
12:00the occupier attacks civilians.
12:02Croatia does not want to remain in an army
12:04that kills innocents.
12:06The democratic movement in Macedonia,
12:08Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia
12:10is growing.
12:12So, Dr. Tomac said,
12:14the Southern Army is losing
12:16both in peace and in war.
12:18With the Eagle Agreement,
12:20Serbia has recognized its participation
12:22and assistance to the attackers.
12:24Croatia is slowly moving away
12:26from those propagandists
12:28who claim it is an ethnic war
12:30that perpetrates the deaths of people
12:32on the enemy's side.
12:34The number of refugees
12:36attacked in their homes
12:38in their Croatia has increased
12:40to 232,500.
12:42In Croatia,
12:44106,000 were organized
12:46or at home.
12:48In Germany,
12:503,500.
12:52In Serbia,
12:5465,000 have fled.
12:56Croatian regional and republican
12:58The Croatian side has lost
13:00449 human lives,
13:02of which 35% are civilians,
13:04and about 2,500 are wounded.
13:06The total damage brought by the war
13:08against Croatia amounts to
13:10at least $10.5 billion.
13:12Although the Croatian Defense Forces
13:14respect the ceasefire,
13:16the enemy's side
13:18does not stand firm on some battlefields,
13:20said Dr. Tomac, and announced
13:22a meeting of Dr. Tudjman, General Kadijević
13:24and Slobodan MiloÅ”ević
13:26to discuss the ceasefire agreement.
13:28Although Croatia will resist
13:30the attack today and tomorrow,
13:32if they expand,
13:34they will respond with an offensive,
13:36said Vice President Tomac.
13:38The President of the Republic of Croatia,
13:40Dr. Franjo Tudjman,
13:42received today in the Banski Dvor in Zagreb
13:44a formal visit of His Excellency
13:46Mr. Sergio Venta,
13:48Ambassador of Italy in Yugoslavia,
13:50Vice President of the Consulate General of Italy
13:52in Zagreb, Mr. Salvatore Cilenta.
13:54The Ambassador of Italy
13:56met with President Tudjman
13:58about the talks between
14:00Italian and German Foreign Ministers
14:02Gianni De Michelisi and Hans-Dietrich Genscher
14:04on Saturday in Venice.
14:06Ministers supported the efforts
14:08of Lord Carrington and the Arbitration Commission
14:10for the establishment of a ceasefire
14:12and expressed readiness of the two countries
14:14to send from 1,500 to 2,000 insurgents
14:16to the crisis areas of the Republic of Croatia.
14:18Ambassador Vento urged President Tudjman
14:20to pity the Italian government
14:22for the victims that Croatia suffered in the war
14:24and offered help.
14:26The Croatian President thanked
14:28on the information and expressed readiness of Italy
14:30to help in avoiding the consequences of this war.
14:32There was also talk
14:34about the agreement signed yesterday in Igal.
14:36President Tudjman emphasized
14:38that the agreement was signed
14:40as proof that Croatia wants a political solution
14:42and preventing further victims and devastation.
14:44By signing the Igal agreement
14:46by Milosevic and Kadijevic
14:48it is made known
14:50that Milosevic and Kadijevic
14:52are the main perpetrators of aggression in Croatia.
14:54Ambassador Italy
14:56invited President Tudjman
14:58to visit Italy.
15:00President Tudjman
15:02gladly accepted the invitation.
15:04The Government of the Republic of Croatia
15:06and the Supreme State Council
15:08expressed deep regret
15:10because of the last night's injury
15:12of a member of the European Commission
15:14from Danzig, Mogens Fogdala
15:16in front of the City Hall
15:18Mr. Fogdala was personally
15:20persuaded by the Minister of Government
15:22Drazen Budisa to visit the Military Hospital.
15:24Minister Budisa
15:26informed Mr. Fogdala
15:28about the order of the Government of the Republic of Croatia
15:30Ministry of Internal Affairs
15:32to conduct an investigation
15:34to find the perpetrator and to punish him.
15:36At the same time, Minister Budisa
15:38expressed hope that Mr. Fogdala's injury
15:40is not only the last suffering of a member
15:42of the European Commission,
15:44but among the last victims in general.
15:46According to the doctor,
15:48Mr. Fogdala was shot in the hip
15:50and his general condition is good.
15:54In the name of the Government of Croatia
15:58on the suggestion of President Tudjman
16:00I have invited
16:02today
16:04the Ambassador
16:06of the Head of the Mission
16:08of the European Community
16:10in Zagreb
16:12to express his regret
16:14about the incident
16:16that took place yesterday
16:18after 9 p.m.
16:20in front of the House of the Army
16:22and the Fifth Military Region
16:24when
16:26one member of
16:28the European Commission
16:30was injured.
16:32It is about
16:34Mr. Morgens Fogdal
16:36from Gdansk
16:38who was injured
16:40as we are aware
16:42in the leg injury.
16:44We have stated
16:46that we will do everything
16:48to conduct
16:50an energetic investigation
16:52against the culprits
16:56who caused
16:58this unpleasant incident.
17:00We must do everything
17:02to ensure that the diplomatic mission
17:04does its job safely.
17:06This follows
17:08from the agreement
17:10on the ceasefire
17:12that was signed
17:14in Iberia yesterday.
17:20It would be wise to wait
17:22at least 24 hours
17:24to know if the ceasefire
17:26would be respected.
17:28The President of the Peace Conference
17:30in Yugoslavia, Lord Carrington,
17:32stated that it would be strange
17:34if the ceasefire agreement
17:36was signed on Tuesday evening
17:38just a few hours
17:40after his arrival.
17:42In an interview
17:44on the ITN channel,
17:46Lord Carrington said
17:48that the Yugoslav Federation
17:50is no longer capable
17:52of continuing existence
17:54after the declaration
17:56on the independence
17:58of Croatia, Slovenia and Macedonia.
18:00According to the German government experts,
18:02in the next 24 hours
18:04the decision will be made
18:06and the decision will be made.
18:08According to the German news agency DPA,
18:10British Lord Carrington
18:12has already announced
18:14that it would no longer make sense
18:16to negotiate in Hague
18:18if the latest ceasefire agreement
18:20is not respected.
18:22And the President of Genscher's
18:24Liberal Party of the FDP,
18:26Otto Lamptorf,
18:28has already declared
18:30the Hague conference unsuccessful
18:32and in an interview
18:34said that it would not be possible
18:36to understand the situation
18:38of many people in Croatia
18:40as support.
18:42This Genscher's party leader,
18:44who a few days ago
18:46expressed his opposition
18:48to the urgent recognition
18:50of Croatia,
18:52in these words
18:54entered into a multitude
18:56of conspirators
18:58of this necessary
19:00and inevitable step.

26:33that Muslims will no longer allow that in the Bosnian region of Eastern Herzegovina
26:37they have been transformed into a multi-ethnic nation,
26:39and to allow that the leadership of the Serbian Democratic Party
26:41seeks absolute equality in different Muslim regions,

26:50The Mediterranean Poetry Collection is one of the wings
26:53under which Croatia, as a host, Italy and Malta have gathered
26:57in order to, for the third time in a row,
26:59bring together the scientific collection of the Mediterranean Poetry Collection.
27:01This year, when for months the aggressive army
27:04has been depriving us of a normal life,
27:06destroying human lives and monumental heritage,
27:08this cultural manifestation continues,
27:10giving the world a spiritual wealth of Croatian written words,
27:14visual culture and musical art.
27:16In the Palace of Milesia,
27:18an exhibition of the Croatian folk reenactment
27:20in Dalmatia and Istria has been presented.
27:22Books, magazines, newspapers and posters
27:24are all about the struggle of the first 30 years of the 19th century
27:27for the unification of the nation by language and culture,
27:29which is the prelude to the achievement of political independence.
27:32The Split publishing house, Knizevni Krug,
27:34the initiator and one of the organizers of the book Mediterranean,

28:00which embodies national consciousness,
28:02is presented in the framework of the book Mediterranean.
28:05Pribojević recommends that we are not born only for ourselves,
28:08but also for our homeland, friends and the common good,
28:11which is relevant sometimes, as it is today,
28:13when the book All Democracies Grows and Develops
28:16in times of bloodthirst.
28:18During the day, many individuals and groups from Zagreb
28:22organize a private association
28:24that offers awards for the liquidation of snipers.
28:27This way, we also invite other institutions,
28:29associations and individuals
28:31to participate in the creation of an award fund
28:34for the extermination of the most notorious snipers.
28:38With this invitation, dear viewers,
