Reports of a man carrying a gun brought armed police to Buchanan Bus Station on the afternoon of Saturday 14 September.
The bus the man intended to travel on and the station were evacuated though were reopened when it was concluded there was no wider risk to public safety.
A 50 year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident though it is understood that the item thought to be a gun was actually a gun-shaped toy.
Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
It occurred at one of the busiest travel times for the station causing inconvenience for travellers and staff.
