00:00More than half of Dengue cases in the country were reported by the Department of Health

00:09According to MPOX, the DOH confirmed that 5 out of 18 cases were reported by Dengue.

00:19The DOH confirmed that 68% of Dengue cases in the country were reported since last year.

00:28DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa clarified that this is because of the start of the rainy season

00:33and the increase in the number of cases of Dengue every rainy season.

00:36As of now, there are 208,000 cases of Dengue in the country.

00:39Some regions are also under the state of calamity because of the more than 40% of Dengue cases in the area,

00:45including Region 3, Region 6 and Region 7.

00:49Because of this, the Department of Health is working hard to open the hospitals of Dengue or AIDS-AIDS patients.

00:58This includes the updating of the vector control, which will reduce the number of cases of Dengue.

01:03The public is also working hard to maintain a clean environment.

01:07But despite the increase in the number of cases of Dengue, the DOH reduced the fatality rate.

01:14In fact, the fatality rate dropped to 0.26 percent from 0.59 percent last year.

01:22The number of cases of Dengue is increasing rapidly.

01:27Meanwhile, the DOH recorded 18 confirmed MPACS cases as of August 18.

01:33In this line, five have recovered while 13 are still isolated.

01:37Six have left the Canabal zone, 11 have left the National Capital Region and one has left Cagayan Valley.

01:44Secretary Herbosa clarified that the Food and Drug Administration has not yet approved a vaccine against MPACS.

01:52Meanwhile, the Philippine General Hospital in Tagawaran promised help after the main building of the hospital was burned down this morning.
