Biden wears Trump hat as 9/11 unity gesture, White House says

President Joe Biden briefly wore a red Trump campaign hat during an event marking the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The White House explained that it was meant to highlight the day's theme of unity.

Biden was visiting firefighters in Pennsylvania, near the site where one of the four hijacked planes crashed.

Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates wrote on X that a Trump supporter gave Biden the hat, asking him to wear it as a gesture of goodwill, after Biden had given the supporter a hat of his own.
