00:00Congratulations, you're a first-time nominee tonight. How does that feel?
00:04It's super exciting. I mean, honestly MTV, VMAs, they've been so supportive of me and
00:09I just, I feel like a baby and I feel like they're like helping me to walk and
00:12figure out my next steps, so I'm appreciative.
00:15It's actually 40 years of the VMAs. What was one of your earliest memories of either
00:20watching the telecast or being here, maybe a performance that you enjoyed?
00:25I would definitely say Beyonce's performances are like go-to's that I always run back to
00:29for inspiration when I'm on tour.
00:31And you also dropped a new single, Sweep It Up. What can you tease about or say about it?
00:37Yeah, Sweep It Up, I'm really, really excited because I wanted to release kind of like
00:41an opposite of what people, I guess, know me for, which is my voice, and I wanted to
00:46really show my personality and show my fun and the carefree side, and so I love that
00:51I have works out that kind of show all the sides of me and I'll put it all together
00:55and that'll be my album.
00:57Very quickly, I wanted to ask, what's something that you would say to your younger self
01:00that was about to embark on this journey of music?
01:04I would say you should ask yourself more questions and really get to know yourself
01:09because that'll help you speed this whole coming of age process along.
