One new Operator (Skopós) brings two remotely operated robots called shells (Talon and Colossus) to bolster the Defenders’ forces in Year 9 Season 3 of Rainbow Six Siege. The active shell functions just like an Operator and wields the new PCX-33 assault rifle while the inactive shell crouches behind its very own shield and acts like a camera. Skopós can only control one of her shells at a time, but switching between the two gives her unprecedented mobility and creates new strategic potential. Operation Twin Shells also includes balancing updates for Solis, Nøkk, and Dokkaebi; a new boost ability for drones; the ability to play as a Defender in Versus AI; and much more.

00:00This is Skopos, the new defending operator in Rainbow Six Siege, and this is Skopos'
00:20V-10 Pantheon shell, and this is Skopos' other V-10 Pantheon shell.
00:27That's right, Operation Twin Shells is bringing just that, a defender with two remotely controlled
00:34robotic operators called shells.
00:38Skopos can only actively control one shell at a time, and if the active shell is ever
00:43eliminated from a match, Skopos will have her connection severed and will effectively
00:48be killed that round.
00:50Just because she has two bodies doesn't mean she's got two lives.
00:55But the active shell can do anything an operator can, move, shoot, and use secondary gadgets,
01:02and while one shell is active, the other assumes a crouched position and deploys a bulletproof
01:07barrier that acts almost exactly like a deployable shield.
01:12This means that while the barrier is bulletproof, it's not explosion-proof, so a well-placed
01:17ash charge, flores drone, or frag grenade can destroy it and clear the way for attackers
01:23to eliminate the shell itself.
01:26The inactive shell also features a camera that Skopos and her allies can utilize.
01:31When Skopos uses the inactive shell's camera, she can switch shells, provided the shell
01:37she's currently controlling has room to deploy its barrier.
01:41This allows Skopos to effectively teleport between two locations, making her one of the
01:48most mobile operators Siege has ever seen.
01:52The twin shells are two-speed, two-health operators, and as a general rule, the active
01:58shell acts as an operator while the inactive shell acts as a gadget.
02:02So while eliminating the active shell will take out Skopos for the round, destroying
02:06the idle shell just means she'll be gadgetless.
02:10Now, both shells are electronic, but the active shell does have some defenses that keep it
02:16from showing up on IQ's scanner and protect it from being disabled by an EMP.
02:22The shells are also mechanical, which means they can't be healed by Doc or Thunderbird,
02:29nor can they wear Rook's vests.
02:32But they also don't have lungs, so they're immune to Smoke's toxic babes and Fenrir's
02:38noxious effects.
02:40Countering Skopos is all about severing her connection to her inactive shell.
02:45And while we've talked about how explosions can help, attackers can also use EMPs or Dokevi's
02:52hack to prevent Skopos from swapping.
02:55Braava's drone can overheat and destroy the idle shell, although Skopos will be alerted
03:02to the overload in progress and have time to swap shells to cancel the effect.
03:07Be sure to keep an eye on your HUD for alerts that your idle shell is being attacked or
03:13notifications that your active shell location is preventing you from swapping.
03:18Skopos' strongest allies are those who can protect her shells, like Jaeger, Wamai, Mute,
03:25and Mozzie.
03:26But make no mistake, Skopos is plenty dangerous on her own, bringing the new PCX assault rifle
03:33to the battlefield, as well as a P229 sidearm.
03:37Her secondary gadgets are shared between her two shells, with the option to bring along
03:41either impact grenades to open up roaming routes, or proximity alarms, which can give
03:46you advance warning that your idle shell is in danger.
03:50Operation Twin Shells is also bringing a few other operator updates.
03:54Solis is seeing the largest rework with changes to her spec I.O. sensor.
03:59To start, only the center of the screen will detect gadgets, and the gadget type will be
04:04hidden.
04:06She has a new activated ability called Overclock that will refill the sensor's energy gauge
04:12and identify detected gadgets across the whole sensor screen.
04:17While being identified with Overclock, enemy observation tools in Solis' detection range
04:23will show a warning on screen that will be visible to the players using those tools.
04:28Finally, her spec I.O. scan will now last longer and can be accessed with only 25% available
04:35energy.
04:36Nook is getting a buff to her stealth capabilities.
04:40From now on, her gadget's energy consumption won't be time-based, but rather action-based,
04:47meaning that as long as you're not moving, you won't consume any energy.
04:52And you'll be hidden from cameras as long as you like.
04:58Dokebi will now start rounds with zero charges for her logic bomb hack, and will gain one
05:04every 45 seconds, up to a maximum of two per round.
05:08Drones are also getting a universal buff, as they can now deploy a speed boost, making
05:13them harder for defenders to hit.
05:16Thankfully, you'll have more time for target practice, as you can now enter the shooting
05:20range while matchmaking.
05:22Operation Twin Shells is bringing double the pleasure, double the threat, thanks to Scopos,
05:28who will be available right from the start of the season as part of the Premium Battle
05:32Pass, and unlockable two weeks later with Renown or R6 credits.
