00:42Executive producer Steve Holland told Entertainment Weekly on the subject of how Georgie's muddling

00:51Georgie's still this bright, sunny optimist, but he has this little bit of pain that's
00:55still hanging in there.
00:56When the new series debuts, not much time has passed since the character's death in
01:00Young Sheldon.
01:01That will definitely impact how everyone tries to move on from George Sr.'s death, as the
01:05show kicks off about two months after his passing.
01:08Fans can expect that short time frame combined with Georgie's vow to care for his family
01:13to affect the cheerful teenager and cause him to take some crucial steps toward adulthood
01:17during Georgie and Mandy's first season.

01:36"...I think he promised his dad in the Young Sheldon finale that he would take care of
01:39everyone and I think he takes that responsibility seriously.
01:43So he has a new wife and a baby and in-laws, but he also has a teenage sister who might
01:48not be handling her situation very well and needs some looking in on and a mom who's grieving
01:53and a grandmother who's still in town.
01:55So there's a lot on his plate."
01:57That means Missy Cooper, Mom Mary, and Meemaw will all have some sort of influence on Georgie's
02:02growing family life and sense of himself as an adult.
02:05We already know that all three Young Sheldon actors will return at some point during Season
02:091 of Georgie and Mandy's first marriage, but they won't be regulars on the show.
02:13While that might impact the way the story's told, it's possible the characters' limited
02:17appearances might help explain Georgie's sense of deep responsibility to them all.
02:22And the bitterness that taints his relationship with Sheldon, ultimately dividing them until
02:26Sheldon finally marries Amy Farrah Fowler during the Big Bang Theory.
02:30Only time will tell how that all comes about, and fans will start to find out when Georgie
02:34and Mandy's first marriage debuts on October 17th.
