This week sees a lot of interesting developments with the Rangers pitching staff, including the debut of Rangers top prospect Kumar Rocker on Thursday and the return of ace Jacob deGrom on Friday. Manager Bruce Bochy joined the K&C Masterpiece to discuss all these developments, as well as what Wyatt Langford has shown late in the season.

00:00I'm considering taking a bet up with my cohost Kevin here on whether or not Mara Rocker is
00:21going to throw a no hitter on his first time out.
00:23What should I take that or no, is that a bad bet or how would you go about it?
00:28Well, I guess you have to give me what the odds are.
00:32Are they out there yet?
00:34But no, I'll get inside.
00:36300 to 1.
00:39Yeah, you know, if I could tell you he'd go 9, then I'd go for it.
00:44But he's not going to go 9, so I don't think that's a good one.
00:49What do you kind of, though, want to see expect out of Rocker?
00:52Because what he's done in the minors so far has been very impressive.
00:56Yeah, he's been going five innings, so we can at least go there, maybe a little further,
01:05see how the innings go.
01:06But you look at his numbers, what he's been doing, he's earned this.
01:10I mean, he forced it because we were thinking, okay, we'll bring him in spring training,
01:16he'll compete for a spot.
01:17But now with how he's throwing the ball, it's unreal.
01:23We want him to get a little bit of time up here and give him a chance to take away that
01:29unknown factor as he goes into spring training, what it's like up here, what it's like to
01:34pitch up here and face major league hitters.
01:36So I'm looking forward to him.
