00:00Drivers may be charged around £20 per week to park at their workplaces in Bristol's
00:09city centre in a bid to cut congestion and air pollution as part of the Clean Air Zone.
00:17The workplace parking levy will raise around £10m a year for the city which would be spent
00:25on improving public transport. The levy would affect roughly 9,000 employees who can currently
00:33park at their jobs in central Bristol totally free. Under this levy, Bristol City Council
00:39would charge every business that is currently offering free parking to their staff. Businesses
00:46may then decide to pass on the additional cost to their employees. Exceptions could
00:51be made to disabled people who rely on private cars, hospital workers and other groups.
