Transcript
00:00Once upon a time, there was a little boy, Jack, who lived with his mother in a small
00:19house near the village.
00:22They had no source of earnings.
00:24They had sold everything to buy a living.
00:28All they were left with was a cow who gave them milk.
00:32They were so poor that many times, Jack and his mother slept on an empty stomach.
00:44Jack used to milk the cow every morning, but the cow had to be fed on fodder to give milk,
00:50and they had no money.
00:52So Jack's mother thought of something.
00:55She went to Jack and told him to sell their only cow.
01:00All right, mother.
01:02Jack went to the market to sell the cow, and on the way, he met a funny-looking old man.
01:09Good morning, Jack.
01:11Good morning.
01:13Where are you taking this cow, little boy?
01:17I'm going to the market to sell this cow.
01:20Oh, child, you don't have to go too far for it.
01:25Give me the cow.
01:27I will buy it.
01:29What will you give me in return for my cow?
01:32I have a special deal for such a good boy like you.
01:37And what is that?
01:39I will give you my five magic beans.
01:45Jack was very confused.
01:48These beans don't look like the usual ones.
01:52The beans looked exceptionally weird.
01:55They were huge, bigger than any other normal beans.
02:00I don't want these beans.
02:03What will I do with these?
02:05They're not the normal beans, little boy.
02:09They're magical.
02:11Magical? Really?
02:14How do they work?
02:16They're so magical that if you plant them overnight,
02:22by morning they grow right up to the sky.
02:26Jack was convinced.
02:28He traded the cow for the beans because they were magical.
02:32Now they're all yours in trade for this cow.
02:37Jack was very excited to show it to his mom.
02:41On reaching home, Jack smiled and reached into his pocket.
02:46Just look at these beans, mother.
02:49They're magical.
02:51What?
02:52Did you sell the cows for these strange-looking beans?
02:56Of course, mother.
02:58You sold the cow for some beans?
03:01How foolish could you be?
03:04Jack was very sad.
03:06He ran upstairs to his little room in the attic.
03:10He started thinking to himself.
03:13How could I have been so foolish?
03:16I sold the cow for beans.
03:19I sold the cow for beans.
03:22I sold the cow for beans.
03:25I sold the cow for beans.
03:28I sold the cow for beans.
03:31I sold the cow for beans.
03:38He cried in bed and fell asleep without having his dinner.
03:44As the sun rose next morning,
03:46Jack woke up and looked outside the window.
03:50To his surprise, he saw a beanstalk
03:53so long that it touched the sky.
03:56Oh my God!
03:58It's really magical.
04:01He decided to climb up the beanstalk.
04:04The beanstalk went up and up until it touched the sky.
04:09Poor Jack climbed and climbed
04:11until at last he could see clouds floating.
04:15This is awesome!
04:17Everything looks so small from up here.
04:20As he climbed a little more,
04:22he reached a big golden door
04:25shining with the rays of the sun.
04:29As he went further, it swung open.
04:32It was a kingdom in the sky.
04:35It was magical.
04:38Jack was awestruck by the beauty of the kingdom.
04:42As he entered the kingdom,
04:44he saw a fearsome giant man sleeping on a chair.
04:48Jack was very hungry after climbing the beanstalk,
04:52so he went inside,
04:54slowly finding his way to the kitchen.
04:57He saw some fresh fruits and milk in the kitchen.
05:00Just as he went near to grab them,
05:03he heard a loud noise.
05:05Huh?
05:07What is that noise?
05:09Jack was terrified.
05:11He ran to hide inside a small hole.
05:14E-fi-fo-fum!
05:18I smell the blood of an Englishman.
05:21Be he alive, or be he dead,
05:25I'll find him and eat him.
05:29There's nothing better than a human broiled on toast.
05:33Mmm, delicious!
05:38The giant could not find any human,
05:41so he ate his food that was kept on the table.
05:52Brrrr!
06:01He took out his sacks of gold coins,
06:08counted them,
06:10and kept them aside on the table.
06:16Then he went to sleep.
06:22Jack slowly crept out of his hiding place
06:26and decided to take the sack of gold coins,
06:29thinking that Mother would no more be upset with him.
06:37Ah! This is so heavy!
06:40I shall take this and escape from here.
06:43He slid down the beanstalk with the gold sack.
06:48He went home and gave the coins to his mother.
06:52A sack of gold?
06:54Huh! Where did you get this from?
06:57Jack narrated the whole story to his mother.
07:01His mother was very happy that they had got gold
07:04and her son was back alive.
07:08A few days later,
07:12Jack climbed the beanstalk again.
07:14Up he went and reached the giant's house.
07:17Once again, Jack saw the giant sleeping,
07:21but this time he was snoring.
07:24The snore was so loud
07:26that he had to rush in some hole to save his ears.
07:31The giant woke up.
07:33Jack leapt up in fright and hid himself under the bed.
07:38Hee-fie! Ho-fum!
07:41Ho-fum! I smell the blood of an Englishman!
07:45Be he alive or be he dead,
07:49I'll find him and eat him!
07:52There's nothing better than a human broiled on toast!
07:57Mmm! Delicious!
08:05There is no boy in here!
08:08The giant did not find anyone.
08:11Then he took out a hen and shouted,
08:14Lay the golden egg now! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
08:20The hen laid an egg made of gold
08:23which the giant added to the basket and went to sleep.
08:27As he went inside, Jack learned that his way was clear.
08:32He took the hen and immediately climbed down the beanstalk.
08:36After going home, he narrated the story to his mother.
08:40Look, mother, I got a hen this time.
08:44It lays golden eggs.
08:46See how it works?
08:49Lay the golden egg now! Ha-ha!
08:54Jack's mother was very happy with him.
08:57For the third time, Jack climbed the beanstalk
09:01and went to the giant's kingdom.
09:03This time, he saw the giant playing songs on a beautiful harp.
09:08He hid below the table.
09:11Be-fi-fo-fum!
09:15I smell the blood of an Englishman!
09:18Be he alive or be he dead,
09:21I'll find him and eat him!
09:25There's nothing better than a human broiled on toast!
09:29Mmm! Delicious!
09:33Today I am going to find that Englishman anyhow!
09:37He searched here and there but couldn't find him.
09:41He got so tired that he went to sleep.
09:45Meanwhile, Jack took the harp and was about to leave.
09:49Suddenly, the magic harp cried,
09:53Help, master! Help me!
09:55A boy is stealing me!
09:57He is taking me away from you!
10:01The giant suddenly woke up and saw Jack with the harp.
10:05Furious, he ran after Jack.
10:09So you were the one who stole my hen and the sack of gold!
10:15I will punish you for this!
10:18But Jack was too fast for him.
10:21He slid down the beanstalk as fast as he could
10:24and the giant, realizing he had been tricked, followed him down.
10:29Jack slipped, slid, and climbed down the beanstalk as quickly as he could
10:34and fetched an axe from his house.
10:39He began to chop down the beanstalk.
10:43The beanstalk broke and the giant fell down and broke his crown
10:48and the beanstalk came toppling after.
10:51As Jack's mother saw this, she panicked.
10:55She realized that it was her mistake that she did not stop Jack from robbing things.
11:00Jack had become greedy and he could lose his life in all of this.
11:05She then went to Jack, feeling sorry, and explained to him.
11:10Jack, I'm sorry that I let you steal things.
11:14I should have taught you.
11:16What if the giant would have caught you?
11:19You would no longer be standing with me today.
11:25Mother, I learned my lesson today.
11:28I will work hard and earn money.
11:34Jack and his mother were very rich now
11:37and they lived happily ever after.
