00:00Hello everyone, this is Paul Branson Reviews and so much more.
00:06Today I am going to review the Organic Humboldt Potato Chips.
00:11This is an Ontario Canadian farm.
00:14I cannot pronounce the name that it has there.
00:17I cannot pronounce where that Ontario farm is, but they do potatoes.
00:23And they came up with a concept in 2012 and it took them a while to get the concept going.
00:29Not the organic potatoes.
00:31I'm sure that they cut them thin and they studied the potatoes to make them perfect
00:37and they called it Humboldt.
00:38Not sure why they called it Humboldt Potato Chips, but it's all organic, even the spices
00:43that's in here.
00:44And a friend gave it to me, so that's why it's already open.
00:47I didn't try them.
00:48I did smell them.
00:49They smell really good.
00:51But the other interesting thing about this farm is they came up with this bag.
00:56This bag is completely compost.
00:58There's no plastic in this bag.
01:00This bag will disintegrate over time.
01:03So when they first came up with the concept, they wanted to put it in this bag.
01:07So they did put it in the bag.
01:10Loblaws was interested, but unfortunately it wasn't heavy enough to hold the chips.
01:16So it took time.
01:18So they've only been out since 2022 and I've never heard of them.
01:23So when my friend gave me this, I figured I would review them.
01:26I like the pictures down here.
01:28I like it saying it's gluten free.
01:30It's Canadian.
01:31It says plastic negative right on there.
01:33And it says light and crispy.
01:36And it's certified organic as well.
01:39So I'm going to try them in a minute.
01:42But before I try them, I'm just going to give you a little quick rundown.
01:45Calories are 250.
01:48The fat is 21.
01:49The trans fat is 10.
01:51Fiber is 4.
01:52Sugar is 2.
01:54Sodium is 8 or 9, sorry, maybe I'm not seeing properly.
02:00Potassium is 13.
02:01Potassium is very important.
02:03Iron is 4.
02:04Now the ingredients are so simple.
02:07Potatoes, sunflower, oil, sugar, cane sugar.
02:13Cane sugar is better than that fake sugar.
02:15Cane sugar, what used to be in Real Pop back in the day.
02:18Real Pop actually had cane sugar in it.
02:20And then they changed it to the fake sugar.
02:24So cane sugar, syrup, tomato powder, sea salt, onion powder, smoked, can't say that word
02:31but it's some sort of garlic thing, garlic powder, and a smoked flavor.
02:36So it's all in here.
02:38So I'm going to give it a try now.
02:40And the smell is still there.
02:42The same smell is still there.
02:44The smell hasn't gone away.
02:46It actually clears my sinuses I think.
02:49So as you see in the bag, the chips.
02:52So you see these chips, they're cut really thin as you see.
03:08The flavor is there.
03:09Actually, they're a really nice barbecue.
03:11They're not super strong.
03:12I normally like my barbecue to be a little stronger, but I guess maybe if you eat more
03:17than one.
03:27I do taste a garlic type flavor.
03:30They are quite nice actually.
03:31I like them.
03:32I would give this an 8.5 out of 10.
03:35I like the fact that these are a healthy alternative to chips.
03:38And I think that was their go-to.
03:40A healthy thing of chips.
03:43Now they're on Instagram, oh no wait.
03:47They have a website, humblechips.ca, and they're family owned as I already said.
03:52So you can read their whole story of how everything came to be.
03:56So you can buy these chips now.
03:58They're $3 at Superstore.
04:00Superstore is Loblaws.
04:01I don't know if you, I don't think you can get these in the States, so I guess because
04:05they're Canadian owned and they've only been out for a couple years now.
04:08But they have all sorts of flavors.
04:10And I'll go and buy some myself and I'll try some other flavors as well.
04:15Yeah, these are great and I love the fact that they're not, they want other companies
04:22to use this too.
04:23Use this technology to put chips in this biodegradable, no plastic.
04:31They want other people to use it and it feels, it doesn't feel any different.
04:36Not that I know, but I don't have any plastic to feel, but it doesn't feel any different.
04:40It doesn't, like I guess inside, like look inside, inside kind of doesn't look like plastic
04:48I guess.
04:49It looks like, well maybe it does look like, it doesn't, you know, it's amazing how they
04:54put this together.
04:55It's amazing technology how people can put something together to help the environment.
05:01Degradable and that's awesome in a chip bag.
05:06So I'm going to really, definitely look at their story.
05:10They're very fascinating story and it's completely on their website.
05:13Bye for now everyone.
05:14Humble Chips.
05:15Check them out.
05:16$3 a bag.
05:18Maybe they were on sale at the time because that's when my friends bought them anyway.
05:24Bye for now.
05:25Have an incredible day and thank you again for watching.
